Unfortunately, I had to DNF at around 50%.

I’ve enjoyed Elle Kennedy’s other books, but I couldn't really get into this one.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a snooze fest. The series started strong with Mackenzie and the twins books, but at this point I have lost interest in the world and the characters. I don't necessarily think this is a poorly written book, just that the series is no longer for me.

okay, so this one was much better than i expected! i love friends to lovers tropes so much. this made me want summer to be back so bad. this was such a great book to just sit back and relax and turn off your brain. they navigated their friendships and feelings the best they could and it was nice to just get lost for a little bit.

i received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Cassie and Tate's chemistry was interesting and somewhat unexpected given her romantic history and each of their histories with Avalon Bay.

Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for the advanced e-copy!

This was my first Elle Kennedy book and definitely wont be my last. After I read this I went and bought the other books in the series! I didn't know the other characters had previous books but this didn't interfere with the story. I can't wait to go back and read them.

I loved Cassie and Tate's flirtatious banter!! They were sooooo hilarious and cute with one another. Add in a little sexual chemistry kept me swooning over them and (looking out the window...ahem). Told by dual POV's you get to witness their crazy chemistry on both ends. This is mixed with a 'virgin' and 'friends to lovers' trope.

Cassie and Tate both have great character development and grow into themselves and each other. The story had a lot of twists I didn't see coming. What I loved the most is, that everything felt natural. Nothing seemed forced or super fictional. I was definitely feeling all the emotions with this one! This also had such a great cast of characters, besides Cassie's mother, but she was portrayed accurately though.

This is by far one of the best summer reads I've ever read. Highly recommend!

This book is a great summer read and perfect beach read. I love the large cast of characters and all their various personalities. The books does a great job at exploring summer flings and young adulthood, with all its ups and downs.

I would highly recommend this as a fun, quick summer read for all!

Elle Kennedy strikes again! The story started off a little slow, and I'm so glad I stuck with it because I ended up really enjoying it! They have chemistry, both are so sweet and I really liked the way they vibed together and created their relationship. The found family trope wasn't as strong as it previously was in the other books in her series, but that's okay. Overall, enjoyed it and had a good time.

Thank you for this opportunity to read this book! Perfect setting for a love triangle. Elle Kennedy books never disappoint! It had great dialogue between the characters. A great ending to the avalon bay series.

mid
this wasn't as well-done as the second was. cassie was annoying & it took a bit to like her. also her & tate had no chemistry. kennedy tried to show that they did but gen & evan - who were side characters - STILL stole the show for me

tldr: read the second book.

ty to netgalley & the publishers for this arc tho

I thought this was a cute, YA romance with a bit of spice thrown into the mix! I hadn't read any of the other Avalon Bay books prior to this one, so it was a tad confusing when other characters were mentioned, but that didn't take away from the overall plot!

I fell in love with this series back at book one and I never let it go. Diving into book two was a happy time and then getting this one I devoured it in a day!! This was such a great conclusion to this series about different characters all set in the same town. I loved every page and want more from this author!!

The girl he just can't keep in the friend zone...
Elle Kennedy is a 1-click author for me, but I really liked this book. This is the 3rd installment of the Avalon Bay series but can be read as a standalone. The previous 2 books just deepen your appreciations of the culture/relationships around the area. This is easily the best book in the series thus far. Inexperienced FMC and player MMC is a favorite trope of mine. Tate doesn't want to start something with Cassie (the gorgeous and hilarious) summer girl-next-door for fear of breaking her heart in the end, but we all know the playboys fall the hardest! Stir in a little intrigue and angst by way of family secrets and relationships, and you have the perfect recipe for a sun drenched escape of a read!

I love Elle Kennedy's books and this was no exception. The Summer Girl made its way to my top favorite in the Avalon Bay series, both because of the story itself and the characters (Tate in particular). I hope there is more to come from this series!

Thank you to @netgalley and @Stmartinspress for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to @macmillian.audio for a free download of the audiobook.

This story follows Cassie and Tate. Cassie is visiting family for the summer and is looking for a summer fling. Insert Tate, the playboy house sitting next door, who actually wants something more than a fling. There is instant attraction, but the difference is priorities causes a will they/won’t they tension throughout the book.

The story was fun to read and listen too. I was a bit annoyed with Cassie’s character as she comes across as immature.

Elle Kennedy does it yet again. I can’t believe how long it took me to finally get to this.

She’s such a great author that you can just binge through. Can’t wait to see what she gives us next!

4.25 Stars for the third Avalon Bay book from Elle Kennedy. I’ll admit I started and stopped this one, as it just took me a couple of beats to connect with the story. Cassie and Tate were a great pairing, even if it took them a minute to figure that out. This friends to lovers story had so much going on, and once I was in I was all here for it!

This story had Cassie and Tate trying to each figure out what was next in life. There was also lots of family drama, some enjoyable and some just made me ragey for these two. All in all a very enjoyable read.

This is the perfect summer beach read for when you want to switch off and escape to another world. Elle Kennedy nails it again with this book. Filled with humour, romance and sprinkled with a little friends to lovers makes for a great read.

Elle Kennedy has become an instant read for me…her new series is perfect for Summer and I hope she continues to write more!

I loved that he fell first after warning her over and over not to fall for him. Their banter was immaculate and the tension was everything!

This book aggravated me.

The book is centered around Cassie, who is visiting family for the summer, in search of a short-term fling. The first guy she meets is Tate, your typical uncommitted playboy. They had an instant physical attraction to one another, but he friendzones her because he’s afraid she’ll become too attached. Blech.

For the majority of the book, Tate and Cassie both are making comments and inner dialogue about Cassie’s boobs. Either Tate is fantasizing about her big boobs or Cassie is discussing how big her boobs are. Before chapter 5, I was exhausted out about hearing how big Cassie’s boobs are. I felt like I was reading about shallow teenagers.

And the breakup at the end? I don’t want to give it all away, but it was ridiculous. How could she blame Cassie but not her own husband?? I get so sick of people blaming women for a man’s shortcomings. The misogyny was intense in this book and left my stomach feeling sour.

The only thing about this book I enjoyed was how ridiculous Cassie’s mom was😂
