I think at one time or another all little children have a plan to catch Santa. In this charming little story there are lots of traps laid out for Santa along the way. But will Santa out smart the children and remain free to continue his magical ride on Christmas Eve? This book has lots of things that can be discussed and predicted during the night time readings. It will soon become a family favorite. It might also give some children some ideas about how they might catch Santa.
My four year old son loved this book. The illustrations are beautiful and the text engaging. We both enjoyed the lyrical rhyming way the book is told. This will definitely become a favorite at Christmas time.
This book was so adorable and has quickly become one of my favorite Christmas books. The story was really fun and the illustrations were amazing. All the little details with the children’s traps was great. I can’t to read it this Christmas with my son.
My 6 and 8 year olds were so excited to read this book early, they absolutely love the How to Catch a…book series!
The stories are told in rhyme, and this one shows Santa delivering gifts while dodging traps kids have set to trap him. The kids loved how the elf and reindeer got caught in the traps, and did a lot of giggling at the pictures. The illustractions in this series are always fantastic, with vibrant pictures and creative traps. We all enjoyed the story and thought the pictures added extra fun.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids for the ARC in exchange for our honest opinions. We will be adding a copy to our shelf when it releases this fall!
Alice Walstead's How to Catch Santa Claus is a cute and catchy story about Santa avoiding the traps that clever children set all around the world. Told from the perspective of Saint Nick himself, readers will love the vivid illustrations and the funny rhymes. This is a great holiday read aloud for elementary school students.
I am the type of mom who buys Christmas Books all year long in preparation for the Holidays. This one did not disappoint, I think it would a great addition to a young reader's book collection.
This was a quick rhythmic read that had a great flow to it. The illustrations were colorful, eye catching and vibrant. I thought the storyline was really fun also, I could see my children enjoying this book!
Thank you #AliceWalstead #NetGalley & #SourceBookskids #SourceBooksWonderland for providing me with an #ARC of this book.
A cute book about children that try to set a trap to catch Santa. unfortunately for them, they fall asleep before he gets there! I liked the story, but the illustration style wasn't my favorite.
I received and ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Walstead has created another book that kids will love. If I'm honest, I don't really understand the draw. The stories are almost mass produced and the rhyming text is laborious to read. But I have never met a child that didn't love them. So I guess she's got something figured out that I am missing.
