Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! (literally my dream ARC)

4.5 stars

Archer's Voice just holds a special place in my heart so I knew this book had big shoes to fill going in. Especially with Travis as the main character. But man his redemption arc was perfection!

The book begins a few years after Archer's Voice. Travis works as chief of police, has a girlfriend, and seems to have mended bridges with his Archer, Bree, and their children. Despite his mother's lies coming to surface in the previous book, Travis seems to have it all together. But he still feels the residual effects and trauma that haunted his childhood. Haven and her brother move to Pelion Lake and completely throw a wrench in Travis's life.

Haven Torres is just lovely and a perfect match for Travis. She is headstrong, caring, and one of a kind. I appreciated how their initial disdain turned to friendship before Travis realized he'd lost his heart to this girl. These two characters could not have been more different on the surface and it made their eventual love story even more satisfying. Deep down they'd both been hurt by people who were supposed to love them and they were scared to be all in. Even though Haven's decisions frustrated me at times, I appreciated the push it gave Travis. He showed how much he had grown by being the one to put his heart on the line and risk losing Haven if it meant she was happy. I almost doubted him at one point when his mother presented some legal options to take Pelion Lake back from Archer, but he proved once again he had changed for the better. I don't know how she did it, but Mia has made me love a character I once hated!

And bless you Mia for the bread crumbs of Archer and Bree. I still need more please and thank you.

Was it bad? No. Did I enjoy it? Not really.

Honestly I’m so surprised because I love the Mia Sheridan I’ve read up until this. This is Travis’s redemption story (post-Archer’s Voice) and we learn so much about his origins and damage, which is great but honestly, he’s just a dick. Throw the cop thing in there and it’s a “no… thanks” for me.

I found it overall hard to connect with any of the characters, as a matter of fact. Not my favorite but I will always read Mia Sheridan because so many of her books have been 5 stars for me. I think I just lacked care about the character Travis and that drove me to not care much for this story.

I’m honestly so impressed by this redemption story. If you’ve read Archer’s Voice (which you should before reading this one), you would have met Travis who was a serious dirtbag. We get some background on Travis and Archer growing up, and we are made to despise him in that book.

In this book? I’m not going to lie, he totally won me over. I am always so impressed when authors are able to make you hate and then love a character (or the reverse) and man did I swoon over Travis 😍

I also felt like I could relate to Travis in many ways. It’s not his fault his mother was so manipulative and toxic. He was a product of his surroundings and feeling like he was abandoned and thrown away for Archer, the son his father really wanted, of course made him act out and rebel.

In this story we have him acknowledging his past, actively changing to become a better person, confronting his misdeeds, seeking forgiveness, and trying to become a better man for a woman who’s just temporarily visiting Pelion and running away from her own trauma.

My only complaint is that, again, Mia Sheridan had to make the female main character so damn traumatized. Is that the only way these men can grow? If they have have to help another woman heal?

Overall, I loved the growth and character development of Travis, and I loved rooting for him. This book made me laugh, made me swoon, and was pretty hot 🥵

Read this if you love:
- second chance/redemption stories
- friends with benefits trope
- when the main characters are in denial
- opposites attract
- family drama/making amends
- sweet summer romances
- found family
- men who love cats

This was a great sequel to Archer’s Voice, and if you loved that one then this is a must read! If you can’t fathom forgiving Travis, then just read this for the sweet Bree & Archer & their kids cameos 🥰

Thank you NetGalley, Mia Sheridan, and Sourcebooks - Bloom Books, for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion 🫶🏻

Going back to Pelion in this sequel was like going back home to old friends. We get a glimpse into the lives of Archer and Bree.
Travis is haunted by his past, feeling unwanted and second best. Unable to runaway from it living in a small town where everyone knows you and seeing the ones you love is just a reminder of how you fall short and weren’t enough.

Haven is dealing with her own troubled past and is just in Pelion for the summer along with her brother. Running away is second nature when things fall apart and your worst fears come rushing in.

They couldn’t be more opposite but yet a friendship blooms. But of course we have to throw in a love interest Gage Buchanan, a nosy town, a troublesome brother, The Inn Crew, a lot of plants and a cat. Mia Sheridan delivered with Travis’ character as we watch him grow and learn that sometimes falling in love means loosing it all.

I was absolutely drawn in to the story from chapter 1. Travis is a charmer and swoon worthy. I loved the dual point of view which allows the reader to experience both sides of the same love story.

After reading Archer's Voice, I wasn't sure how I would feel reading a book about his brother Travis considering his character was kind of a jerk.. but I'm glad I did read it! Travis's character mostly does a 180 and changes his behavior and becomes more of a likeable character. While this book wasn't as (in my own opinion) romantic or heart tugging it was nice to read up on this character development as well as see what life for Bree and Archer also looks like in the future a bit. Definitely would recommend!

This book gave me the closure that I did even know I needed 🤍 wow, Travis Hale - you are forgiven 🫶🏼

I didn’t fall head over heels for this book like I did with Archer’s Voice, but I loved seeing Travis’ redemption! There was some great character development and themes of personal growth 🌿 While Travis definitely has a tough exterior, he has a soft side - which I loved seeing come out in this book with Haven 🥰

& the little cameo’s from Archer and Bree were perfect 🥰 ALSO - this new cover is 👩🏻‍🍳💋

We’re back to Pelion after Archer’s voice, Travis Hale has his own story to tell. He’s a complex character, having a mean streak that involved hurting Archer numerous times while growing up, never extending a helping hand. He did one monumental thing for Archer and Bree at the end of Archer’s Voice, which turned the tide in showing that Travis possibly has compassion. This book starts about 8 years later and Travis is still the Chief of Police. He’s at peace with not being the sole heir of Pelion and he has made some major strides in his life. He even visits Bree and Archer and dotes as uncle to their kids. The loss of his father is still a raw emotion.

Haven is passing through Pelion wanting to enjoy the season there. She is definitely not Travis’ usual type and he doesn’t see her as such initially. There’s some lightheartedness between them with their banter and chemistry. But Haven isn't planning on staying, they fall into a natural routine of friendship which then turns into more complicated emotions. Haven had some likable quirks. She wanted somewhere to belong and with someone, but has always moved around instead of dealing with passed trauma.

I was not disappointed with this book! So glad to have all my lingering questions answered. Feeling very happy after finishing this book.

LOVE THIS NEW COVER!!! The secondary character got his own story! YAY for Travis!

First let just say if you have not read Archer’s Voice you are really missing out. I have recommended Archer’s Voice to everyone that came into my path :) Of course Archer’s voice is Archer’s journey and, in his journey, I was not fond of Travis but that was then and this now. This book is about a new and improve version of Travis I completely love. I am so glad Mia Sheridan gave Travis a heartbreakingly beautiful love story. Travis had a difficult childhood living with a mother he couldn’t count on, a father who left with another woman and his new son. Growing up, Travis always felt second best. He is weary of women and just when Travis thought he met the one, she shattered his heart into pieces. Once again proven Travis’s theory all along – he is always second best 
Haven is a nomad. Haven and her younger brother have been moving from town to town for the last two years but never settle down long enough to get attach to the town or the people in it. Haven supposed to be in Pelion Lake temporary but when Haven crossed path with Travis there were a connection that neither could denied. Haven and Travis had an arrangement. She keeps men at arm length, her heart locks up and when feelings start to grow she runs.
I adore both Travis and Haven – they are two tortured souls but despite that they have good hearts and never lost the ability to care and love. Haven helps Travis become a better version of himself – he learns to forgive and let go of his past in order to find happiness. Travis is an anchor that Haven desperately needs to keep her calm, grounded and plant roots.
This story is just beautiful, funny, sweet, and witty. I found myself laughing out loud, swoon and cry. I was also happy to get a glimpse of the old gangs and the cute kiddos. Beautifully written friends-to-lovers romance. Full of hearts. I hope there will be a book on Easton and Gage – these two deserves a nice HEA as well.

It was so nice to go back to Pelion after all this time !
We hated Travis in « Archer’s voice » and it felt good to get to know him, know his story, why he was so heartless. Travis keep trying to be a better man and we love him for that.
Haven is so lovely and sweet and funny (I laughed so much with the opossum’s story).
Travis and her are so good together, it’s his redemption and he deserved it.

Travis Hale has a past that he is anything but proud of. He is full of regrets and has been doing his best to make up for the pain he has caused his family and town. Haven Torres has become a traveling nomad and has been doing everything in her power to run from her traumatic past. She refuses to stay put anywhere for longer than four months. Travis and Haven form an unlikely relationship that serves both their needs for the time being. This simple relationships turns into a complicated one as Travis is forced to face his grief and refuses to be second best, and Haven is scared to be tied down to the beautiful town of Pelion. Will their instant connection turn to something that they both desperately want but are scared to have, or will their troubled pasts get in the way of giving them the redemption story they deserve?

Archers Voice was one of my favorite romance books that I read last year. I felt such a love and immediate connection to the heart break story of Archer. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this book on Travis. It was fun and entertaining and the spice had me blushing like a little girl. I love a good redemption story and am happy that Travis got the one he deserves. I wanted more in terms of character development and was craving more insight on Easton and Havens story line. I enjoyed the beginning and middle but the end seemed a little rushed. It was still enjoyable read, and I recommend it for all the lovers of Archers Voice. I also fully understand that’s it’s incredibly difficult to have a follow up book the knocks it out of the park!

This is an absolutely lovely romance story with a bit of spice.

Haven had been traveling around for a while trying to escape from her past. Travis is used to having it all but things have been changing. Things really change once Chief Travis Hale pulls over Haven from California. See how once chance meeting, a summer job, and a wayward brother can change your life forever.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC to review this book.

Such a good follow up to Archer’s Voice! I was thrilled to be back in the idyllic Pelion, Maine and to learn more about Travis. I loved the story, the characters and the ending! Fingers crossed we get a third book and get to learn more about Easton!!!

Let me start this out by saying that I LOVED Archer’s Voice, it’s been one of those books that has stuck with me since reading it a year ago. Did I think Travis lived up to Archer’s Voice? No, but it was still very enjoyable.

If you’ve read Archer’s Voice then you know that Travis did some really… not okay things. I could not stand him and the way he treated Archer in that book, but his story of redemption in his own book I thought was done really well. It did not shy away from his past actions & neither did he. I actually found myself really liking Travis and found him quite charming. I really thought Haven was a great contrast to Travis in the way she showed kindness to everyone.

So even though this did not capture the same feeling that I got from reading Archer’s Voice, I still think it’s a great story of redemption and self forgiveness :)

Thank you so much to NetGalley for giving me a copy for review!

I really enjoyed the MMC but the FMC just wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t like the love triangle she had happening. The ending was a bit over the top. I don’t believe anyone would write a “shame manifesto”.

Mia Sheridan does it again!

Despite her painful past, Haven was a fun, quirky heroine that I loved immediately. She had so many little things about her that I connected with. My heart hurt throughout the book as the fact that she was there only temporarily was never forgotten. And oh my! I needed her to find peace, comfort, and security. Rarely do I have such strong emotions regarding a heroine but it was imperative that Haven have her happy ever after. While I knew she would, the angst of getting to that point just about killed me.

I adored Travis! He was so caught up in Haven it was practically swoon worthy. The fact that he had a three legged cat as a little buddy pretty much finished the melting of my heart. His past was just as brutal as Haven’s but in a different way and watching these two characters find healing within themselves as they fell in love made for one of the most beautiful stories I’ve read in a while.

It’s been years since I’ve read Archer’s Voice and I don’t remember if it included this wild and wacky cast of town characters or not. I want so much more of them! Hoping since this is a new series I’m going to see them all again.

With a hero and heroine that were fractured but real, a storyline that had me laughing one moment and in tears the next, and a conclusion unlike any I’ve ever read before, I absolutely loved everything about this story!

I already loved the town of Pelion Lake in Archer's Voice and fell in love with the town again in this book. I love seeing inside Travis's head and his motivations for life. I enjoyed seeing him be redeemed as a better person, uncle, and brother than in Archer's Voice. I just love the town and Mia Sheridan's writing has this lyrical tone that drags you in, gets you emotional, and doesn't release you until the end.

Prior to receiving this ARC, I did not know this book was a rerelease. I was under the impression that it was a new book coming out in April. Come to find out it has been out since 2021! I do not know the dynamics of a re released book, so I would be interested to know if the story itself has changed at all.

I very much enjoyed Travis and Haven's story. I am glad that it has been quite a while since I've read Archer's Voice because I don't think I would have given Travis as much as a chance if I had read Archer's book recently. I knew going into this that it would be a redemption story, but I didn't remember just how not so great Travis was in that story. Travis certainly reminds you of his indiscretions in this book, though.

To me, this book seemed wayyyyy less dark than Archers Voice, to the point where I questioned if I was remembering Archer's Voice correctly? I went into it expecting a lot of turmoil and dark drama, but was pleasantly surprised by the lightness of it. It was a thorough overall story that I think painted a full picture of their love story from beginning to happily ever after. Of course, I am never a fan of drama that starts in the last 15% of a book (I'm more of a 70%-in drama kind of girl). The resolution always tends to seem rushed when the drama starts so close to the end. At the end of the day, I was happy with how the book ended. It was a good read.

Thank you to Mia and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the ARC!

Okay, I’m not gonna lie, I loved Archer’s Voice but it took me a little while to really get immersed in this one because I didn’t like Travis at first. By the time it ended, though, I was a fan!

3.5 stars! I really enjoyed this book! It got a little brining at some parts and the story fell short of what I was hoping for but still an enjoyable read! I just liked Archer’s Voice way better and felt this book could have been so much more than what it was. I didn’t get the same emotional connection that I was wanting to feel!
