I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I liked that Haven and Travis aren't the classic heroes we usually read in romance novels. They have an unusual relationship that begins with intentions of revenge against the people who have wronged them or underestimated them. I especially loved getting to read Travis's perspective on life. I absolutely loved Archer's Voice, and I appreciated Travis's character development in that books ending. So, seeing Travis now, learning to be a good brother and uncle, while also being hurt and bitter about the way his life has evolved, was interesting, heartbreaking, and lovely (yes, all at once, its an emotional rollercoaster!) I liked Travis and Haven's story, seeing how these two are truly perfect for one another, learning how to be healthier, better versions of themselves and accepting they deserve love and happiness. Overall, the Travis redemption arc that is this book was what made me love it the most. Especially at the end, during the town hall meeting, hearing Bree acknowledge how everyone can make a list of bad things they’ve done or regret (some are bigger than others), but we also all have lists of the good things we’ve done, and why we’re worthy of love and forgiveness. It was a great lesson of this story of Travis— he is worthy of love, family, and forgiveness.
Thank you for the ARC!!!

Mia Sheridan does such a great job at the small town, close nit, community setting! I loved Archers Voice and was excited to read more about Travis. I love a good redemption story! This book was good, but we didn't get to see much of the said redemption. Archer, Bree, and Travis were just kind of good with each other from the start. I did love the B & B setting and the glimpses of Archer & Bree we got though. The romance itself kind of fell flat in my opinion. I just didn't connect with the two.

I didn't know what to expect with this one! if you have read Archers Voice then you know Travis is NOT liked lol. But this book shows a side of Travis that makes you understand why he is the way he is. Definitely a beautifully written redemption story for Travis!!

4 stars!
The book brought out the side of Travis we have not seen in Archer's Voice. Archer's Voice will always be my #1 but Travis's story wasn't too bad. For me its kinda hard for me to like Travis after what he did to Archer but it was nice to see the softer side of Travis that wasn't presented in Archer's voice. This book also presented some scenes of Archer and Bree's family and that they are happy and doing well.

This story was a fast paced small town romance and sort of like a redemption arc for Travis. I love Clawdia the cat hahahaha (my fav character of alll).

Thank you Mia Sheridan and Sourcebooks Bloom Book for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I was able to read this through Netgalley.

I really enjoyed this book. It started a little slow but picked up soon enough and I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out what happens. We all first met Travis in Archers Voice as Archers older brother who is a not nice, vindictive, selfish person.

We see a very different side of him in this book. He is loving, unselfish and trying to make changes. In come Haven and her brother, Easton with baggage of their own.

Thank you to Net Galley and Mia Sheridan for the eARC! I was so excited because I LOVED Archer's Voice.

Travis, the chief of police, in a small town of Pelion, Maine considers getting more serious with his girlfriend when he catches her in the act of cheating. Haven and her brother have been traveling across the country and moving from place to place and decide to settle on Pelion area for the Summer when she crosses paths with Travis. After a plumbing leak, Travis finds himself staying in a local B&B where Haven is staying where they strike up a friendship; both dealing with the ever present shadows of their past.

I Really liked this one. It was not as great as Archer's Voice, but it was very different. It was nice to see the softer side of Travis after how he was portrayed in Archer's Voice. It has close proximity, both haunted by family trauma, friendship turned into friends with benefits, starting of summer romance. Plus it was great to see Bree and Archer again, though Bree was a bit standoffish in this one.

Would definitely recommend!

I love love loved Archer's Voice and couldn't wait to read this one.

Not going to lie, Travis had a long road ahead to get me to forgive him. But what a great redemption story!

Travis & Haven definitely don't have the "traditional" love story. But she's far from a traditional girl. I loved her and her brother and all they had overcome. The connection between her and Travis was clear from the start - to me! Took them a while to get there.

Also enjoyed that Archer and his family were in the book as well. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

This was an enjoyable book that picks up a year or two after Archer's Voice. This book could be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first one to get the full experience. This book follows Travis who is the chief of this small town with a life in ruin but a plant lady from Cali might bring him back up. I have to say that after reading Archer's Voice a year ago, I hate Travis but I forgot all about that when I started this one. The author totally changed my perspective of him which I'm all here for. About the writing, I was hooked on the author's writing style from the beginning of the page. But I have to say that towards the end of the story, it kind of got a bit bland. The pacing was off towards the story but at the same time, I was enjoying it. I wish there were more deep moments or conflicts like Archer's Voice.

This book is written from Travis and Haven's pov. I really enjoyed both characters especially Travis as he redeems himself after the second book. So Travis is the Chief police of Pelion Lake while Haven just came with her brother from Cali and is looking for an escape. Travis and Haven both have great development throughout the book. I felt connected to their story which I think many readers will be too. There are many side characters and don't worry, Archer and Bree make many appearances in the book. The romance in this book is small-town romance, friends to lovers, and slow burn.

The ending was well done and readers get an epilogue. I don't know if there will be another book in the series but I'm all here for it if there is. I really enjoy Sheridan's writing as her stories are so well written. I love reading her characters as they are characters I will never forget. I did have some minor issues with the book but overall it was very well written. I recommend reading this book to my small-town fans but read book 1 before!

Anyone who read Archer’s Voice can remember how strongly they disliked Travis. Now Mia Sheridan writes his redemption story and manages to turn him into the kind of damaged hero that I can’t help rooting for. Who would’ve thought that would even be a possibility? Seeing things from his perspective as a broken hearted little boy really tugged at my heart and I wanted him to get his own HEA. He grows over the course of this book as he spends time with Archer’s family and gets to know Haven. As much I came to care for Travis, my heart was truly stolen by Clawdia, the three legged cat., or maybe the two of them together. That was the real story in this book!

Travis by Mia Sheridan
Pub Date 4 Apr 2023

Romance

Several years after Archer's Voice, Mia Sheridan published Travis, a touching continuation of the Hale family. I hadn't read the previous book, so I read Travis standalone. Individually, it works well and is easy to follow.

Synopsis:
Travis, the main character who was unlikable in Archer's Voice , redeems himself with his family in Pelion, Maine. Even though he is handsome, muscular, and surrounded by women, he is not looking for a relationship until he meets Haven Torres. Haven is a drifter with a difficult upbringing. Despite her desire to avoid commitment, they form a close friendship, but will that be enough?

My thoughts:
Travis is a cozy romance with a touching plot. The characters are easy to like as you flip pages. This small town setting brought back memories of my childhood. The touches of humor including the supporting characters and Clawdia the cat are priceless. While the book requires some suspension of belief, it is an enjoyable read. Travis contains some graphic sexual scenes. It may not be appropriate for everyone.

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books, Bloom Books for sharing this novel with me. Your kindness is appreciated.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Travis by Mia Sheridan from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, I enjoyed this novel. The main characters, Travis and Haven, had chemistry and funny quips from their first encounter and things just heated up from there. I liked their banter, interactions and building interest, steamy scenes, and story arc. This was a solid romance novel and I found it to be well written. The plot was engaging and the pacing moved swiftly. Yes, it was predictable, but it was still entertaining.

I absolutely love Travis’ redemption story. He has come a long way from the villain misunderstood character we knew in Archer’s Voice. This book can be read as a stand-alone or after reading Archer’s voice as this takes place in the future after Archer’s story. Both books take place in small lake town in Maine called Pelion. This book focuses most on the police chief Travis Hale. It starts with him settled down thinking he has met the love of his life with Phoebe. However, things change after an unfortunate event. He later realizes he never really fully loved and was open to love. That the two of them were not perfect for each other. In comes Easton and his sister Haven. They are traveling through just stopping for a few months then onto the next town. A friendship forms between Haven and Travis. I love reading and learning more about these two characters. My other favorite parts of the book was the breadcrumbs of Bree and Archer plus their three kids. Uncle Travis is so sweet to them. Mia Sheridan does it again. I haven’t read a book of hers that I wasn’t a fan of. I’m usually not a huge lover of books that are based on supporting characters of other books, but this one was cute. We learned some of Travises story in Archers Voice, yet there was a lot more to it that was explained in this book. Haven wasn’t a character that I saw myself liking in the beginning, but she quickly grew on me. The book is somewhat predictable but in a pleasant way. The small town vibes and detailed characters make it worth reading. “Travis” is a book filled with humor, backstory, and love. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Originally, I was planing to reread Archer's voice before reading this, but then I was like like nah let's give Travis a fresh start.
Why remind myself with his bad actions? And I'm so glad I did, because you know what? Travis Hale, I forgive you!!!

This book was all about Travis. I loved him and I loved seeing his point of view. His redemption was just so good. And I'm such a sucker for a broken character/misunderstood villain redemption story. Read this if only for Travis redemption!

Another thing that I absolutely loved is Archer and Bree breadcrumbs. Their scenes were just so good and heartwarming and got me wanting to reread their book again. I loved them and their kids and seeing their kids with Travis and how good he was with them.

I don't know how I feel about that ending tho, on one hand I understand and liked what Travis did and why he did it, but still I didn't want him to do it like that? if that makes sense. I just felt so protective over him after spending the entire book getting to know and understand him.

I liked this one, but now I'm so interested in reading Easton's book. Now he's such an interesting character and I think his book got potential if it ever happened.

Lovers of Archer’s Voice certainly remember his cousin Travis and how much they disliked him for his treatment of Archer and Bree. When Mia Sheridan announced that she would be writing his story, I added it to my tbr immediately and wondered how she was going to pull this story off. I have never read a redemption story this powerful and this believable. I was floored at the lengths Travis was willing to go through for Haven and his family. I loved every second of being back in Pelion Lake with the Hales and I am DYING for this to be come a series. 5+ stars!!

Archer’s Voice is one of my favorite romance novels, and I’ve read a few other stories by Mia Sheridan since. When I saw this one on NetGalley, I didn’t even bother to read the blurb; I was almost certain to love it. And I did. Sheridan’s writing is easy and fluid, her characters are flawed (very, in the present case) and rough around the edges, but don’t lack a sense of humor. Loved it.

“I know something about keeping people at arm’s length, by only letting those in who pose no risk to your heart. I understand the need. I’ve done it all my life. But I’m telling you now that I don’t want to do that anymore. Give us a chance, Haven.”

-redemption arc for Travis, takes place a few years after Archer’s story, dual pov
-Haven thinks she’s in love with bachelor, Gage Buchanan, but perhaps there’s someone out there more suited for her, someone in the form of Pelion Lake’s police chief
-Haven and Travis had a chemistry and I thought this was a good read
-they both had their baggage but managed to grow from it

This is the third book I’ve read by Mia Sheridan and so far, I have loved them all. It took me a minute to realize the main character in Travis was the unlikeable brother from Archer’s Voice

This story takes place eight years after Archer’s Voice. I was pleased to find that Travis had grown in character and regretted many of his past actions. Likewise, that he was loved and accepted by Archer and his growing family. I was fully invested in Travis’s story, not so much, Haven’s. I did like her character; I just thought the whole constantly moving reasoning was not strong. I felt the big gesture at the end was a little over the top but hey, it’s such a quirky town, why not? I hope we’ll read more about them and Easton in future books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
