OH MY GOSH! I love a redemption story - and this was it. Travis didn't make a great first impression in Archers Voice, but I completely fell in love with him during this book. The 8 years time frame was perfect, and we could see how Travis grew as a person and how his relationship with Archer and Bree has changed over time. I loved Haven's character - she was just what Travis needed in a partner! I loved the friends-to-lovers trope, everything about this book was perfect, the dialogue, the pacing, and the plot. MIA is an amazing author and cannot wait to read what comes next!

3-3.5 stars!!! Mia Sheridan’s books are always amazing!! I had to pick this one up, especially since Archer’s Voice was one of my FAVORITE books of 2014!!! I reveled in getting glimpses into Bree and Archer’s lives!! I would get practically giddy when they appeared!!!

I liked Travis instantly in this book!! I felt for him and his past, and was excited for him to create a future! Haven and him were so cute together! I loved how they met and how we got to see their relationship grow! They seemed to get each other from the get go! Lots of cute and funny moments! Haven with the twins!! One of my fav scenes!

PS: I would so love to get a book about Easton or even Gage!!!!

Thank you to the author and publisher for an ebook from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

FAV QUOTES:
“Weren’t all of us a compilation of the versions of ourselves we’d once been.” Travis

“We get to reinvent ourselves. And if the new version is even better, it means we’ve learned and we’ve grown.” Haven

“All the things that have brought us pain carve a distinct hole in our heart, and there’s someone else out there with the perfect something that will fill the void.” Burt

“With happiness. I’ll know I leave a piece of myself behind and that a small corner of the world is better because of it.” Haven

“…because chances were risky. Chances could go either way. Chances offered no guarantee.” Haven

She wrote a deeply flawed characters’ (yes, plural) redemption. I am not sure in real life people can change because our natural instinct is to just rationalize every bad thing we do rather than accept. And without accepting there is no change. But this book made a good case for redemption.

Thanks so much to Bloom Books for hooking me up with an e-copy and a physical copy of Sheridan's most recent release!

In this book, we are following Travis, who we meet in Archer's Voice. Travis is really hard to like in that book, so I could see how some people may not even want to read this book, but I would ask that you reconsider.

In the 8 years since the end of Archer's Voice, Travis has truly become a decent human. He's town police chief (not my favorite choice, but it was his job when Archer's Voice was written, and it's a small town.) and does what he can to serve in his community. The last thing he expects is to walk in on his girlfriend of almost a year cheating on him in their bed.

When he meets Haven on the side of the road, because he had to pull her over, the last thing he expected was their connection. Haven was truly a light in his life, and he wanted to bask in that, and wanted to become a man worthy of her attention.

I think we get a really good grovel from him, and the third act break-up is more external than internal, but there is a great gesture and grovel on his side, and he faces his sins in a very rewarding way. I am so glad I was lucky enough to be sent this. I can't wait to see the other books we will be getting from Sheridan and bloom books soon!

Mia Sheridan does it again. I’m left utterly speechless by another novel she’s written.

Archer’s Voice was the most beautifully written novel I’ve read in a long time. Initially, like many, I despised Travis. He was the character you wanted to hate. However, there was always something about him that made him hard to be mad at.

From bullying Archer to saving his life. The range of emotion towards a character was vast. One minute you’d hate him and the next you were bawling your eyes out at with gratitude.

I wasn’t sure before I started reading if I’d even like this book. Could I handle another smug Travis moment? Let alone a whole book of them… but my goodness I am so happy to have this book. I am so happy to see Travis’ redemption story. It was beautiful. It was painful. It was an exceptional story that portrayed the pain of feeling less than/second best, the hurt that unchecked damage can cause to one’s psyche, and the personal freedom that comes from being willing to risk it all.

Yet another love story that will melt your soul.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Mia Sheridan and Bloom Books for providing me with ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Summary: As the chief of police in Pelion, Maine, Travis Hale has it all until a new guy in town crosses him. This man has a sister that may be just as dangerous to Travis, but in different ways.

Thoughts:
- Talk about redemption. Travis was not a well liked character in Archer's Voice, yet here we were able to dive deeper into his troubled past and witness his character development.

- I loved the contrasting characters in Travis and Haven. Tough guy, chief of police meets plant-lady, vegetarian. They were super cute and spicy together.

- I loved the sprinkles of Archer and Brie and their kids. Reminded me of how much I loved them in Archer's Voice.

- A perfect amount of understanding and compassion between the characters. Not only did Travis grow, but so did Haven & Easton and Travis' relationship with Archer.

Thank you #NetGalley, #MiaSheridan & #SourceBooks Bloom Books for the early ARC of Travis.

Thank you Mia, for giving a redemption arc, and making us love the man we love to hate! For those who haven't yet read Archer, I would almost recommend reading this first. I went back after and reread Archer in a totally different light

If I hadn’t read Archer first, I would potentially rate this as a five-star read.

Haven and Travis are both broken in their own ways, while naturally being drawn towards one another due to their pasts. It’s your typical casual “friends with benefits” gone wrong. Travis was seeking revenge on his ex, while Haven pursues a relationship with someone else. Turns out, friends with benefits never works! (Shocker!) New book, same evil vindictive Victoria Hale.

Given you come into this book hating the MC from events happening in Archer, Mia Sheridan wrote an amazing redemption story. I love the bond that develops between Archer and Travis in this book. They have come a long way from their relationship in Archer. Travis really turns a new leaf, even with his community tell-all they will give you a good laugh.

So why did I not rate this five stars?

…I really didn’t like how the FMC’s story was essentially one in the same as Bree’s. I hated how it was a “run away from my real life, stumble upon this small town and find the love of my life.” Personally, Haven just wasn’t my favorite character in general.

Overall, I am very happy to see the shift in Travis’ character – but Archer and Bree still have my heart.

**Big thanks to NetGalley and Bloom Books for the opportunity to read and review this title**

3.5 stars

I was thrilled to see this arrive on the NetGalley shelves, being that it was already on my TBR. Mia Sheridan always writes a great story, so of course I needed to read Travis… STAT.

So glad I got the chance, because it really was a lovely read. Hooked me right in from the beginning, and kept me reading due to the strong character development and flow. At times it was a little wordy when one protagonist would be describing their thoughts, but there was also a ton of little high-lightable nuggets in such pages, as well. I loved Haven’s penchant for plants and her nature girl kind of vibe. Travis kinda bothered me, but oh well! My favorite scenes all took place at the Yellow Trellis Inn- especially between Travis and Burt.

The ending left a little to be desired, but all in all a good read.

I'm usually not a fan of redemption stories, but "Travis" was more than that. It didn't just show us that Travis was tragically misunderstood during his youth; it dove deep and showed how Travis took it upon himself to change after the events in "Archer's Voice." This change allows Travis not only to strengthen the bonds with his real family (Archer & Bree) but leads him to his found family in "the crew," as he and Haven lovingly call the residents of the Yellow Trellis Inn.

It's no secret that while I liked "Archer's Voice," I didn't love it the way the rest of Bookstagram did. That being said, "Travis" was so good! While I wouldn't call this a rom-com per se, the supporting characters (typically the elders of Pelion) had me laughing out loud whenever they were involved. The mutual pining between Travis and Haven was intense and had me unable to put this book down! If I hadn't had class and work this week, I definitely would have read this book in one sitting! This would be a solid beach read this summer!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publishers for giving me an Arc of this book in exchange for a review. I absolutely loved this book. Mia Sheridan never disappoints. I loved revisiting Pelion, with Travis, Archer, and some of the people of the town we grew to love with Archers Voice. I loved reading Travis' redemption. ❤️ I think I love him more than Archer now!

My rating: 4.5 ⭐️

After the events that took place 8 years ago, when he lost his right to run the town of Pelion, Travis Hale is struggling to put his life together. His life becomes more complicated when the nomad Haven Torres arrives in town. The friendship he develops with this young woman and his desire for revenge will collide to test what is most important to him.

Did I expect to love this book as much as I did? No. Does it compare to Archer's Voice? I think is a GREAT sequel, but I found the books so different that I think isn’t fair to compare them.

You definitely need to read Archer’s Voice first to learn the story behind Travis and his struggles. After reading Archer’s Voice I didn't know how the author could redeem Travis but she definitely did. I loved his personality and his friendship with the FMC. Like Archer’s Voice it is a friends to lovers with main characters with difficult pasts. I love the banter between them and the group of misfits at the B&B.

The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars from me was the third act conflict. It didn’t seemed believable how it developed and how it was solved, but everything before that was pure perfection.

Tropes:
Small town 🌄
Friends to lovers 👫
Close proximity 🫂

Thank you @NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloombooks for the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions are my own.

As always, loved this one by Mia Sheridan! In this second book at Pelion Lake, we now follow Travis Hale, Archer's brother, and Haven. Right from the start there is a twist that catches you off guard, which keeps you wanting to read. The writing is beautiful and insightful. Most is told from Travis' POV, which I don't mind as I prefer male MC POV.

I definitely wish there was more with the dynamic of Travis and Haven's true relationship, though the character development of Travis is not to be missed. Also, for Archer fans, Bree and Archer make a few appearances!

I would definitely give this one a read, it will definitely pull emotions (tears) from you!

Mia Sheridan is soooo good at writing a really, really great romance novel that makes you care about the characters, and are willing to forego any activity you have that day in order to complete the book. I was sad to finish it so fast.

This is my second book by Mia I have read. I previously read Savage and loved it. As I was reading I discovered I should of probably read archers voice first. 😬

I wanted to share my thoughts on this read. The way it’s starts and like Bam. I went into this blind no backstory on Travis. I instantly was connected to the story from the beginning.

It’s a beautiful story about two people that have had been hurt so bad in the past that they were scared to let anyone else close enough to do it again.

“Maybe the terrible truth about love is that when it’s gone, it leaves a hole in your heart so big it feels like nothing will ever fill it.”

Although they were parts I was like just open up. I was literally in my head screaming you both love each other someone speak up.

Haven has such a fun and quirky personality. I loved how she talked to the plants and grandma.

The grandma part had me cracking up and how Travis played along with it too.

They started off as friends which is perfect. I believe true love stories last because underneath all the attraction they connect on a deeper level. They definitely connected on a deeper level.

Overall this book had me hooked it a beautiful story and now I must read Archers voice and anything else Mia has written.

I did receive an arc to give my personal review of the book. I’m so thankful I was able to review.

Chief of Police of a quaint town with a closet full of skeletons and a Plant Mom (... along with her miscreant brother) battling her own inner demons cross paths. Can they stay friends, or will a charming town and two broken souls hoping to re invent themselvew find their HEA?

Travis Hale is a dream. A man who owns up to all his faults and wrongdoings in pursuant of love? Count me in. I really enjoyed the writing in this. Felt like such a lovely place to live surrounded by good people. Great character building, and cute side characters overall. Bonus points for the well written spice 🌶. I'm not a fan of HOW Travis earned his redemption with the whole "Shame Manifesto" but I see how it glued the story together.

I look forward to reading Archer's Voice, and I think I'll be happy I read Travis first as this is his redemption story... and the start of The Pelion Lake Series. Also looking forward to more of Archer & Bree & their babies!

Would definitely recommend if your into small town/friends to lovers/you know they're getting a HEA romance, romance.

This book was really good and I actually enjoyed reading Travis's story. I also loved seeing Archer and Bree back on paper! The ending of this book I admit felt a little farfetched, but I still liked it and definitely cried at the end. Loved the character development and overall just a really good book.
Definitely read Archer's Voice first!!

Shout out to Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the eARC of Travis by Mia Sheridan via NetGalley 👏😚

I listened to Archer's Voice last year and couldn't bring myself to read Travis right after 😬 months later Blooms re-release of Travis finally had me ready...I needed to know his story. Could he really redeem himself ...

Moving forward when you look up the meaning of Travis it now longer says complete a$$hat 🫣🤯

I can proudly say, I adore Travis Hale 🫠

This story, wow...it is not as painful as Archer's, but it's definitely emotional. And yes we get to see Archer, Bree & crew...aww Uncle Travis🥰

This story is of true redemption; second chances, starting over, apologies(no matter how big or small), forgiveness, and letting go...and Haven is an absolute kind-hearted, plant saving, woman...that has Travis having a lot of firsts (all the feels) and "what the hell is happening to me" moments 🥲😭🤭🥰

And don't worry Mia doesn't take it easy on him 😂

Mia Sheridan has done it again. She made the impossible possible and made me see Travis Hale in a new and better perspective. When I initially read “Archer’s Voice”, I abhorred Travis, I thought there could be no redemption for his character… oh, how wrong I totally was. After reading this book, I can proudly say that love Travis— but not as much as Archer, obviously, because come on, almost no one can top him.

Haven was such an interesting character and someone I really loved reading about. I somewhat resonated with her and I adored her bubbly personality, plant obsession, and weird quirks. I’m so happy she found Travis and that Travis found her. They work so well together despite their obvious differences. They both deserve the world after what they went through.

The writing was exceptional, as always, but I did find some parts a bit boring only because the characters’ inner monologues kept repeating/were too long.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was interesting to see Travis’ character development throughout the novel. I’m hoping Mia Sheridan makes a book about Easton next, I’d really love to read it.
