A wonderfully angst filled story with all the grovelling my greedy heart desired. I wept upon hearing the devastating stories of Travis and Haven as children. But laughed at their meet cute. I loved the eccentric cast of secondary characters. This is my first story by this author and now I have to read her entire back list – especially Archer’s Voice.

I was excited to dive into this book after having read Archer's Voice last year, and it certainly did not disappoint. Haven and Travis were just such a cute and spicy couple - I really enjoyed reading through their development both with themselves, and each other. Travis definitely had a major redemption arc before and during this book. He was seemingly unredeemable in Archer's Voice, but I actually really liked him in this - and was rooting for his personal development (personally, relationship, and family-wise)
Thank you so much NetGalley, Mia Sheridan, and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for access to this e-ARC!!

After reading and loving Archers Voice, I was so excited to receive this one! I'm a huge fan of Mia Sheridan, and her books have a great way of always capturing my heart.
I knew going into this one. I wasn't a fan of Travis. If you've read Archers Voice, you will understand why. I also knew that somehow Sheridan was going to change that for me, and she did...
Travis was the main villain in Archers story, so seeing this different side of him was intriguing. Him and Haven had good chemistry, and I enjoyed their story. However, I didn't love this one as much as Archers Voice.
I feel that to really understand this one, you will need to read Archers Voice first. This is part of a series, so I am looking forward to continuing with it.
Thank you so much @netgalley and @read_bloom for this copy.

I love Travis! Another great book by Mia Sheridan. If you've already read Archer then you're already familiar with Travis. I really enjoyed reading this novel of his redemption from his own point of view. This book is full of intense romance, emotion, and some humor. I can't wait to read more of the Pelion Lake Series!

Travis Hale is a small town chief of police. And Pelion is the typical everyone-knows-your-business kind of place. He's rebuilding his relationship with his brother who owns the town, and maybe thinking about asking his girlfriend to marry him. When that doesn't quite work out the way he has planned,it changes the course of his life in a major way.
Even though he's sworn off women, he's intrigued when he meets the new brother and sister in town. Haven is lovely, and Travis is smitten, even though he's told himself he wouldn't. There's a really great friends to lovers thing going on between Travis and Haven. The story is told in dual POV, and I really enjoyed Travis's voice as he falls for Haven, and then realizes that it just probably won't work between them. There's plenty of emotions on the page, and I really felt his anguish as he goes through his redemptive arc.
I did find the break-uo-to-make-up at the end a little wild and unusual, but it fit with this couple. They had so much in common with their forward thinking attitudes, the happy-ever-after left me feeling warm and fuzzy. Overall, an enjoyable small town romance.

After having read Archer's Voice last year, I knew I had to pick up Travis, also by Mia Sheridan. Travis was essentially the villain in Archer's story. I was excited to read this ARC and see if Sheridan could change my mind about Travis.
Travis Hale has always been second best, well at least since he was a kid and his dad left him and his mom for his true love, Alyssa, and the child they shared together, Travis's half brother, Archer. That second best mentality has followed him throughout his entire life, building into a world filled with resentment. Fortunately, Travis has attempted to turn over a new leaf and is on much better terms with Archer and his family. Now, Travis is ready to settle down when he catches his girlfriend cheating on him. Second best again. Travis ends up in a bad spot until he unconventionally meets a girl that makes him look at things differently, Haven from California. The only problem is Haven's stay in Pelion is temporary and Travis can't be second best anymore.
I wasn't sold on Travis changing his ways until late in this book, which actually kept me interested and was super well done. I enjoyed Haven challenging him; he needed that in his life. This was a great story and I loved seeing the better, softer side of Travis.

UGH YES YES YES we love a good redemption story <3
I loved this so much. This book was everything I didn’t realize I needed. So good.
Thanks to Netgalley for the arc <3

Travis is the story of Archer's brother and sometime antagonist. In Archer's Voice, Travis is such a dick. He's manipulative and mean and it was only toward the end of the novel that he redeems himself. That being said, I wasn't entirely convinced that I'd like Travis because of his dickish behavior but it turns out that Mia Sheridan knows exactly what she's doing; she not only redeemed Travis, she made me like him.
Very early on, we get some insight into why in the world Travis would be the way he was. While his behavior isn't excusable, it's a little more understandable and then we get to meet Haven. Haven is the calm to his storm. While she's similar to Bree in that she's arrived to the Pelion area in a temporary fashion, it's her brother's current happiness and friendship with Travis that causes her to stay.
Haven and Travis meet when he pulls her over for some reckless driving. They meet up again at his gym and their friendship begins with lots of barbs and snark and an eventual understanding, despite her brother's shenanigans. Haven's running from a past that has damaged her, as is Travis. Neither of them wanted or expected to find their person, but that's exactly what's happened--it just takes a little while for them to get there. Between him being her wing man, their illicit affair, and a colleague of his who goes way off the rails, it's a bumpy road to their HEA. Thankfully cooler and humble heads prevail, and we get to see a future for Travis and Haven that is settled and happy.
While Travis contains a little less angst, it's definitely a fun weekend read.

I adored this story, I knew it was going to be a good one, yet Mia Sheridan surprised me with this brilliant story. The emotional rollercoaster you think you will get into doesn't compare to the reality of what I went through while reading this book. Travis is a character that was developed in the best way possible, his redemption was a hard one to meet, yet the author did a fantastic job doing just that, he is the chief of police from Archer's Voice, if you haven't read it you should as well, but this one, Travis' story is one you definitely need to read. This story is a dual POV so we get both sides. Haven is a character that has a hard past and so she has some issues that make her run before she gets hurt again. They both coming together showed how they can both help each other in ways they didn't think possible. The story gave me heartache, made me want to throw the book, yell at the characters, and surprised me. So yes, this book is a 5 star read you need to one-click!

This was an enjoyable romance that I didn't want to put down. I loved the main characters and the story was well developed.

Travis, this is a book of redemption. We get to revisit Archer and Bree to see how their lives have moved forward. But we also get to see how Travis Hale, Chief of Police get to redeem himself with family and friends after he blows the relationship that he was creating with Haven Torres. Haven on the move falls for Travis but the obstacles keep them from moving forward. How will they work through the turmoil.
Thank you NetGalley for another amazing ARC.

I am a huge Mia Sheridan fan! I absolutely cannot get enough of her work. She is absolutely phenomenal as an author. I loved every second of this book. There wasn’t a single page that I didn’t like. I was hooked from the beginning and I finished this book within 24 hours. I found myself wanting more when it was over. Definitely can’t wait to get my hands on her next novel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Travis is a novel by Mia Sheridan. This book is a continuation of Archer’s Voice. It centers on Archer’s half-brother and villain from the first book. Travis Hale is the police chief of Pelion, Maine, with a beautiful girlfriend, and his family has mostly forgiven him for his past mistakes. Haven Torres and her brother are running from their tragic past by taking a road trip across the country. When the siblings end up in Pelion, Haven finds herself drawn to Travis, and what starts as friends get complicated quickly. Travis and Haven must reconcile their pasts to have a future together.
I love a good redemption story. Travis is a complicated, intricate character. Travis has felt second best his entire life. Travis has made some egregious errors and is still paying for his misdeeds. Travis’ journey of redemption is gut-wrenching and hauntingly emotional. I wanted Travis to find peace and happiness. The reader sees a broken man striving to improve but is dragged down by his past. I fell in love with Travis and his journey.
Haven Torres is trying to run from her past. Haven has significant trust issues. She is afraid to let anyone in who could hurt her. Travis is that threat. Haven’s journey to reconciliation and peace was beautiful.
This book is emotionally explosive. Every detail has been lovingly written. The secondary characters were terrific and made this book exceptional. I loved the backdrop of small-town Maine. The story moved well. I was intrigued from the first page. The last four chapters and epilogue were perfect! Travis and Haven had to work hard for their happily ever after, but it was a joy to read. This was my first book by Mia Sheridan, and I will read Archer’s Voice. I highly recommend this to readers who love small-town contemporary romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really loved this one! When I seen that Travis had his own !book, I am not gonna lie I was hesitant to read it because I HATED Travis is archer voice! But oh did Mia Sheridan give him the best redemption arc and I ate it right up! It’s 8 years after Archer voices and I loved being back in the small town of Pelion! Travis is now 32 and the chief of police and Archer is the mayor and owns the town. And right off we get to see him, Bree and their 3 sweet kids which just made my heart so happy! Travis isn’t the same man he was when he was 24 back when he learned the truth about what happened all those years ago, but he is still holding on to a lot of guilt and unresolved feelings. Like something is missing from his life. That’s when he meets our FMC Haven, Haven was such a sweet character and I loved her plant loving optimism ways. She felt like sunshine in a bottle to me! She hasn’t had an easy life and her and her brother are on a road trip across the country, and are only in town for the summer. something happens to Travis rental home and he finds him self in an odd B&B and Haven just happens to be staying there as well! They have such great chemistry, but both know it can’t be anymore than friends because she is leaving at the end of the summer and Travis has no idea what he wants and is fighting a battle in his head daily, but haven brings something out in him, she is the final step and making him want to be a better person that he knows he wants to be. We really get to see into Travis mind in this one, and how his growing up affected him. And i honestly just loved everything about this, the maine characters, the side characters, the town! This is a slow burn with a few spicy scenes but compared to archers voice I found that part tame! But not complaining I think it fit the book perfectly! This book just really felt like a big hug to me!

Thanks so much for this arc!
I loved Archer’s Voice & I’m so glad Mia Sheridan wrote this story about Travis.
Of course in Archer’s story we sort of hate Travis. He’s been cruel to Archer his whole life & even threatens his relationship with Bree. We do learn that the boys both had different versions of the same story. The boys seem to make up but it still leaves us weary of Travis.
I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about our past “villain” in his own love story. Yet he needed this redemption. We learn so much more about why he is the way he is. It really makes you think about the impact your parents have on your life. (Also as a parent of small children it gave me a different view of how my parenting will affect my kids forever).
Travis meets Haven who is just passing through their town. She too has her own demons. The two pretend they’ll just be friends but the writing is on the wall throughout every one of their interactions. Havens brother is found in bed with Travis’s girlfriend at the beginning of the story. Travis seems to want revenge but the more time he spends with Haven- the better of a person he seems to become.
He finally puts his heart on the line & Haven can’t promise to stay. It’s then when Travis makes good on his promise to get revenge. And this is where the book lost me a bit. It gave “teen-movie” vibes and I hated this part of their story. After we watched Travis make so much progress it was disappointing to say the least. He finally won over readers who hated him in Archer’s story only to royally screw up again. I will say he redeemed himself but I wish the story hadn’t gone where it did.
I still enjoyed the book and the growth of Travis & Haven. I think anyone who liked Archer’s Voice would appreciate this follow up! 3.5 stars

This book was fantastic. It tugged at my heartstrings and gave me everything I needed. The only reason why it’s 4 stars is because I loved Archer’s Voice more.
But seriously y’all this book was emotional, funny, cute, and sexy. I cried for a lot of this book, especially towards the end. Travis, who was an asshole in the first book, is now a lot nicer. His character development has been chef’s kiss. He meets Haven who is new in town, and her character was wonderful. She reminded me of a mix of sunshine/tornadoes. She collects and saves plants!! She’s my hero.
Every character was so wonderfully put together. I loved seeing Travis’s mindset and him trying to decide if he was going to be a bad, selfish guy or not. It was so interesting. And I absolutely loved getting the pieces of Bree and Archer’s lives together. So cute.

What a way to go back to one of your favorite authors, I can not believe this book and what it did to me emotionally. So, I will start this review by saying I took too long to read Archer's Voice and had never been madder at myself. I read Archer's Voice early this year and fell in love with it, and I loved it so much that it put me in a reading slump, so it was great to return to this world and everything surrounding it. When I realized that this was Travis's book I was worried that I wouldn't like it just because of how much we all hated Travis in the first book, but Travis made us love him in his own way. I know towards the end of Archer's Voice we got to see the real Travis and how he does have a heart and I'm happy we were able to continue this through and see him fall in love. Now, to move forward with the characters within this book, let's start with Haven our plant lady, she made me want to try to be a green thumb person but that will just never happen. Haven is running from a past and she is afraid if she stops running her past will finally catch her. Then you have Haven's brother who we all hate in the beginning for what he did to Travis, but the way he loves Haven makes us see that he can be a good guy if put in the right position to do the right thing. But not going to lie I would love to see him get his own book so we can all head back to this town and these people. But back to this book and the relationship between Travis and Haven, these two are polar opposites and yet they make their relationship work. These two made me believe that people that might not see eye to eye with certain things can still find common ground. Now for the boy we loved the hate Travis, he had such character development that changed him and it is truly shown when it comes to the town ownership, and how he throws that away to have a relationship with his brother proves just that. Overall this book brought me back out of that reading slump I have been in for so long after reading Archer's Voice, but I still can only give it 4.5 stars out of five because we still had a little miscommunication but they didn't break up because of that but that miscommunication was still there. The other rating we have to give is the spice rating, and this would have to be a 3 chili pepper out of 5 the fact that the scenes were well written but nothing overall hot and spicy, it was kind of just the right amount of spice that made you keep wanting a little more. I want to give a big thanks to Netgalley and Mia Sheridan and Bloom books for the opportunity to read this book and give it a review. But overall go read this book it is everything you need in a time like now.

After reading Archer's Voice, I kind of hated Travis. He was such a terrible person in that story. I wanted only bad things to happen to him, but not anymore.
Mia Sheridan did a fantastic job at writing Travis's redemption story in this follow up to Archer's Voice. I love that it picked up pretty much right after the epilogue of the first book and then walked us through all the ways Travis had changed. This book took me a little longer to get into than Archer's Voice, but I still read it in less than a day. It was a quick, easy read, and once it grabbed my attention, I couldn't put it down.
I loved getting to revisit old friends from Pelion while also making new ones. Haven was a great co-lead to this book, though I enjoyed that it focused more on Travis's journey than on hers, and the crew at The Yellow Trellis Inn were the perfect mix of wacky and sweet.
The only thing that I found a little strange about this storyline was that Archer never offered to share the town with Travis. It felt very out-of-character for him, especially considering he doesn't care about the money. Plus, it would have helped his and Bree's children, as well, since they have twin boys. Sharing the town amongst the families makes more sense for these characters than continuing to have it go to the oldest son. Even if the author had had Travis turn them down, it would have felt more aligned with what we know of them and the town to offer to split it with Travis.
Overall, I felt the author did a phenomenal job of redeeming Travis. I had definitely forgiven him right along with Archer and Bree and the entire town of Pelion by the end of the book. I would definitely recommend this sequel to anyone who read and enjoyed Archer's Voice.
Read if you enjoy:
- Dual POV
- Redemption Arcs
- Revenge Schemes
- Plants

Haven Torres is not one one to plant roots anywhere. She and her brother are on a nationwide road trip only stopping in small towns on the way long enough to make money to get to the next stop. When her brother is caught in an intimate situation with the girlfriend of the police chief, should they run again or stay firm through the chaos?
I would have given this book 5 stars up until about the 80% mark. I liked the banter between Haven and Travis but I found the interactions with Gabe to be distracting. Also there was an underlying current of miscommunication which I had hoped would dissolve as Haven and Travis fall in love but instead explodes. I liked the found family trope that is created with several side characters. I would love to hear more about Burt and Betty’s love story. Clawdia is my favorite character in the book.
This book can be read as a stand-alone but appears to be a sequel to the author’s previous book Archer’s Voice. I have had that book on my TBR pile for quite awhile but I have yet to read it. It does seem like fans of that book would have an appreciation for the characters Bree and Archer who are fairly present in this storyline.
For those who may be triggered: Childhood trauma is a strong presence in this book.

3.5 stars. this was like cute but i didn’t really care for travis’s storyline. sorry for not feeling bad for the cop brother who was shit. and i know thid whole book is about becoming and being better but i just still didn’t care.
archer’s voice was so good to me and really had some hope for this one. both travis and haven were fine characters, i just didnt feel particularly connected to either of them.
it was a sweet ending but again, just didn’t love it as much as archer’s voice.
thank you netgalley and the publisher for sending me an ARC in return for an honest reply.
