For lovers of “13 Going on 30”, “This Time Tomorrow”, and “One Last Stop”! I can not get over this book. I am very rarely a 24 hour read girl but I couldn’t put this one down! I feel in love with Nolan and Drew! The character growth was *chefs kiss*!

I love the message that fame and fortune will never fulfill you like love and family will.

I will forever and always immediately purchase anything Timothy writes. This man is the KING of writing rom-coms that make you feel like you're living in a movie. 3 for 3 on 5-star hits, New Adult has just as much magic, humor, love, and sass as the previous two novels...
LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK!

You MUST get this in August!

A witty story to read on the beach with the sun on your face while your smile grows bigger and bigger and never disappears! A fluffy book to read on the couch wrapped in blankets while your heart lights from joy! Or just an amazing read for all of us who need to be comforted.

I loved Never Been Kissed and found You’re a Mean One, Matthew Prince meh. But New Adult is Timothy Janovski’s best book so far! This is what I call the perfect rom-com!

After reading the first sentences, I already knew I would love Nolan’s story. The smile on my face caused pain in my jaws, followed by pangs in my gut because Nolan had hurt people so much. But my smile returned almost immediately, and I swooned and rooted for Nolan and Drew so much. Can we talk about tall, sweet, probably demisexual redhead Drew for a moment?? While I hated Nolan at times, I adored Drew. He was such a cute cinnamon roll who didn’t like to go out but got forced by Nolan to live out of his shell.

Timothy, I’m really excited about your next book, The (Faking) Dating Game, and I can’t wait to have it in my hands!

Nee Adult follows Nolan whose life goal is to be a comedian by the time he is 30. He is currently 24 single, struggling to cover his expenses, and is still paying his dues in the comedy clubs. His sister's life is perfect and is getting married. While at his sister's wedding, he gets a call to open for a famous comedian. He decides to leave the wedding and shoot his shot. This causes a major blowout with his friends and family. Nolan was gifted magic healing crystals and when he wakes up the next morning it is 7 years later. Everything he has ever wanted has come true. So he thought, he soon realizes this came at a cost. His friends and family are no longer talking to him. Nolan soon comes to realize this is not the life he wanted and will do anything to make things go back to the way they were and fix the mistakes in his past.

I really enjoyed this book. I read the other two books in this series as well. But this one is my favorite one. I have read books with a similar plot before. But this one stood out and did not feel similar to other books I have read. There were times while I was reading this that I really hated the main character. But then grow to love him. I feel like I was on a journey along with Nolan. I also really enjoyed the romance in this book. I would highly suggest this one.  I really enjoyed this story.  I can not wait for this author to release more books. Thank you Netgalley, Timothy Janovsky, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of this book.

A rom-com between best friends and the decisions they make.

Present day, Nolan is a struggling comedian on the verge of giving up his childhood dream. When, one night, an opportunity presents itself only for it to drive a wedge between himself, his sister, and his best friend.

The next morning, Nolan finds himself waking in the future and doesn't like what he sees. Struggling with his new situation, he seeks out his former best friend and hatches a plan to get himself back to the past.

But will Nolan be able to go back to the past and right his wrongs or be stuck in the future with a life he hadn't lived.

I think I would have liked more "future" interaction with Nolan's sister, but once everything comes to a conclusion, it makes sense. But I love that Drew owns a bookstore!

I was sold on this book as soon as I read it was 13 Going on 30 meets One Last Stop. I absolutely loved this! The magical realism and time travel aspect was really well done and made this a book I couldn’t put down!

Nolan is not a likable protagonist when we first meet him. He constantly puts himself and his comedy aspirations before his family and friends. After he bails on his sister’s wedding so he can perform at a comedy club, he wakes up the next morning to find himself thrown 7 years into the future and Nolan isn’t sure he likes what he finds. Nolan goes through amazing character development as he navigates fixing his future and finding his way back home while also sparking a romance with his best friend turned enemy, Drew.

I’ve read all 3 books in this series and this one is by far my favorite!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

GENIE WISH GONE WRONG???😱😱💀💀

This has been SUCH a cute story. A light rom-com with an emphasis on growth and self-discovery. It had a really interesting premise as well. Waking up in the future and not knowing what had led up to that point in life, and needing to pick up bits and pieces to fill in the big picture.

It was a fun journey for the MC Nolan as well as for me as the reader. The revelations were shocking as we learn about his new reality, and I was just like, "Wow, you really messed up huh!" 😂😂
Although the 23 year old Nolan who found himself in his future body hadn't actually done those things, it was what would've happened anyway if he had continued on, even without the time travel wish, which results to the consequences that faces him as he tries to make sense of what to do.

But what was really sweet is how Nolan was determined to set things right in his current timeline while trying to undo whatever it was that sent him there in the first place.

It was a humbling experience to read about and, to Nolan, an eye-opener he needed to see why things had gotten the way they were. And through this only could he start to be better, and take the necessary steps to go on. From things like watching old videoclips of "himself" onstage, to learning about the persona he crafted and maintained, and the things he never knew about the people close to him from the past. It serves as a good reminder how a new perspective can really change how you use to see things, or even things that you've missed.

It was nice seeing him learning from his mistakes and righting the wrongs as the story reaches the end. Very satisfying. In fact I would even say the ending was a little too convenient maybe? I suppose it doesn't matter since this book is supposed to be a light, heartwarming read and the moral of the story yadda yadda was not impacted in any way so I really can't complain.

Overall I'm glad I picked up this ARC, the story had good pacing throughout with its 7 parts, and closed up really nice so bravo to Janovsky! 4.5 stars but rounded out to 5, slay!

At 23, Nolan Baker doesn't have much going for him: a stagnant comedy career, an even more stagnant job at said comedy club, and an unrequited love for his best friend. Tired of clawing his way to stardom, he takes a once-in-a-lifetime chance to make his dream come true-- at the expense of his family. But instead of dealing with the fallout, Nolan wakes up the next day having jumped 7 years into the future, and is looking at a life as a rich and famous comedian. His dream has come true, but at what cost? All that glitters is not gold.

As a sucker for romance books, I knew I'd eat this one up. Thoroughly enjoying his first book, 'Never Been Kissed,' and despite not loving 'You're a Mean One, Matthew Prince,'
I had high hopes for this, Janovsky's third LGBTQ+ romance novel. I was not disappointed. Sure, the plot was obvious from the get-go (who in 2023 HASN'T seen 13 Going on 30?), but the characters were fresh and funny, even when Nolan Baker was making poor life choices (he makes up for them!). As love interest-slash-best friend Drew states, "There's comfort in revisiting the tropes we know and love." And 'boy meets boy, boy does something dumb and loses boy, but then realizes the error of his ways and fights for boy' is a trope I know and love.

I rated this 4 stars because 4.5 wasn't an option. It didn't blow my mind, but I loved every second of it. I read it in 2 sittings, and both laughed aloud and teared up at times. Will definitely recommend to friends, and will likely read again.

I loved this one. It has all the fun magic of my favorite time travel/body swap movies I grew up with but is also grounded in genuine emotion that 100% made me cry through the ending.

The story focuses on Nolan, an aspiring comedian, who is, of course, so focused on his professional ambitions that he forgets what really matters (how else do you set up a solid redemption arc?). When the components of a mysterious gift bag from his sister’s wedding have him time traveling, he finds himself transported to the life he thought he dreamed of. Now trapped seven years in the future, he seeks out the help of his former best friend to either fix the time line or find a way to reconcile and live in this new reality.

I really like the way that Javonsky can write an initially unlikeable main character and find a way to have you root for them by the end. This had a great friends-to-lovers (maybe also technically enemies-to-lovers) romance and some really moving moments where Nolan had to work to repair his relationships with his sister and parents.

Overall, I was just really swept away by this. It was well-paced, funny, and sweet. Highly recommend!

Magical Realism at its absolute best! 13 going on 30/friends to lovers is revamped with stand-up comedian, Nolan who gets his big break during his sister’s wedding (literally). When he wakes up 7 years in the future, Nolan recognizes nothing about his life. Now he’s trying to piece together the past he’s jumped and mend the bridges he torched all those years ago.

Seriously, a roller coaster of emotions. Timothy Janovsky is a must buy author for already but this sweet, emotional ride has cinched it for me. The nostalgia is strong and draws you in.

The highest of 5 stars!

My thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC in exchanged for my honest review.

This book was fun, flirty and easy to read. Fast paced and go, go, go from the very first page.

Nolan is a firecracker, with so much energy, he bursts off the page.

Well written and fun.

Timothy Janovsky's writing continues to mature with the arrival of New Adult, a really quirky and fun time-jump romance that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole ride.

Give me all the 13 Going on 30 vibes!
When we first meet our MC Nolan, I didn't like him at all. I couldn't see the good in him - his actions were questionable, his priorities definitely weren't right, and he was acting as if all of his friends and family were working against him. Enter Janovksy's magical writing and magical crystals, we jump ahead seven years and Nolan sees what has become of his life. Yes, he's become the successful comedian that he aspired to be, but at what cost? He's ruined every important relationship he had, including that with former-BFF/potential-lover Drew.Reading how Nolan took his new life back and worked to repair the relationships he had lost was so rewarding! Knowing he had a decision to make at the end to stay in this timeline with these new relationships or to try and go back and live differently in his original timeline was a little heartbreaking - the "what if" always lingering.Loved it and will 100% read again.
Definitely recommend if you like:- friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-friends-to lovers-to-friends-to-lovers (Timothy's words, not mine!)- a cracked door romance, if you will
- strong family dynamics (including a sassy niece) - time traveling crystals (who doesn't like those?)- redemption arcs (see above re: Janovksy's magical writing, you will be rooting for Nolan no matter how you feel in the beginning!)
Thanks, NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Timothy Janovsky for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This one just didn't land for me -- possibly because time-jump stories activate my inner nit-picker who likes to ruin my enjoyment of things by not letting me ignore plot holes and anachronisms, possibly because I'm far past the age where skipping significant chunks of the time I have left on earth seems desireable. But it was sweet and frothy, with characters you want to root for, and I'm excited for readers without my specific grumbles to find this book and love it the way it deserves. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Cute, silly, and fun! And, I think, a big improvement in terms of Timothy Janovsky's writing itself. I found the post-time travel section to be stronger than the pre-jump first third but I was definitely along for the ride and having a good time!

Your enjoyment of New Adult will depend on how funny you find the lead character and how compelling you find his predicament. While I liked Nolan. and enjoyed his plight and watching how he solved it, I had one single issue with this romantic comedy about a comedian – he is not a very funny comedian.

Nolan Baker is an ambitious stand-up comic whose life feels like it’s in stasis at the ripe old age of twenty-three. He’s ready to change his lifestyle and give up comedy for good when the reminder life is passing him by smacks him in the face in the form of his sister CeeCee’s wedding. CeeCee tries to convince him to take a corporate job, and Nolan is resistant – but it’s starting to sound like his only viable option, especially because he’s given himself a deadline of thirty to make it.

Then Nolan is surprised by a sudden career advancement. But after he wows a crowd that includes his boss with a set he performx as a replacement act, his personal life ends up in shambles. To take the gig he was forced to miss CeeCee’s wedding – and to stand up his best friend, roommate, and long-time crush, Drew Techler, who had agreed to attend the wedding as his date. Since everyone in his life now hates him, Nolan wishes he could skip to the ‘good part’ of his life while holding a set of magic healing crystals gifted to him. He goes to bed… and wakes up in a much nicer place seven years later. The stones have projected him into the future, where he’s a very successful comedian – and no one in his previous life will speak to him. Nolan quickly learns the grass isn’t greener on the other side and tries to make amends with everyone, but can he win back Drew’s esteem?

New Adult is tropey and light-hearted, but its plot is filled with characters that grate. Nolan is annoyingly selfish, but his family and friends have no sense of understanding when it comes to his career, and even less respect for it. The book sets up, for instance, how he and CeeCee are not that close, and yet it’s a sort of disastrous karmatic mistake that he chooses not to come to her wedding? My side was Team No One for much of the book.

Also I yearn for a time travel novel to have the guts to suggest that maybe making a bold move instead of sinking into the mire and morass of what you have is a good idea. Then again, Nolan’s stand-up act – what little we get of it – isn’t very funny.

But the romance really works. Drew and Nolan have wonderful chemistry, and I loved the way Janovsky catches the contemporary flavor of life lived in a big, bustling city and all of its modern inconveniences. The romance is so good that New Adult lands a B, in spite of my qualms about its lead character.

Truly such a delightful book and with some fantastic and substantial growth from the previous book, You’re A Mean One Matthew Prince. I love Timothy’s use of leads who need to make substantial changes in their attitude and gratitude towards the people in their life to finally take charge of the love and happiness they deserve. This 13 going on 30 twist was a real delight and an. unexpected way to show the dichotomy of success and happiness and how those two spheres can be entirely separate when looking at them from a nuanced perspective. I enjoyed this book so much!!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a relatively easy read, though not in a way that felt like it had been dumbed down at all; it was sweet and trope-y in exactly the right way. I loved the development of the characters and getting to watch it play out, This particular concept definitely could have been overwrought or too dramatic, but I think it was played in exactly the right way, and as someone who is unbelievably soft-hearted and a romantic, it was perfectly handled.

I was also afraid that the concept of the main character being an aspiring stand-up comedian was going to be more cringe-y than anything, as sometimes in writing things like that don't always play quite right. But it was handled well, and never hit the mark of trying too hard.

Overall, this was a sweet, fun read. The ending was a nice, sugary wrap-up for the whole thing, and seeing the way the new future played out was a good way to tie it off. I really enjoyed Janovsky's writing style and I look forward to reading more!

Time-travel rom-com with Timothy Janovsky's signature style!

New Adult starts as a TV sitcom: Nolan wants to be a comedy star, and his aspirations hilariously crash into this adult life obligations thanks to his mismanagement and unfortunate coincidences.

When one of them accidentally sends him 7 years into the future, he finds out that his dream-come-true isn't much of dream after all, especially given the fact that he is estranged from his best-friend-he-is-love-with, Drew.

The first part of the book is the weakest, it is too "sitcom trope" for me, but from the moment we get to the future, it gets better and better! Nolan's character comes full circle, life lessons are learned (usually the hard way), priorites are set straight, and we enjoy a lot of cute moments between Nolan and Drew!

Like Timothy's debut, this book also features a demisexual character, even if it isn't vocalized, and again touches upon issues of mental health, growing old and making the best of the time we have left.

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC!
