I was able to read a copy of Joy is My Justice as I was completing a fitness challenge and I truly think it provided insight and context on things I was not privy to. I enjoyed it and the information it provided me on my journey.
This book invites you to reclaim space for Joy and sadness to live together. The author explains how it does not help to try to run away from pain. Trying not to feel sad or angry can have the effect of making you feel worse, with anxiety or rage. It is a deeply human act to face pain and know it is yours to transform. Dr. Tanmeet Sethi gives instruction on how to learn self compassion to feel safe and transform emotions. She does this by weaving stories that drew me into the example she is showing. I found the book captivating and very helpful.
