I gave this book 4 stars and Im looking at it through the eyes of a teen reading it . I thought it was a a wonderful clean sweet romance. It also showcases a beautiful friendship between 2 girls. It covers quite a few scenarios that young teens may encounter and does a good job in handling them. It’s a quick read .
I voluntarily received a free copy from NetGalley and all opinions are my own
I would recommend this book to my friends who had teens

A cute & charming story of high school romance and friendship.
Me as a teenager would have loved this story for sure.
But because I'm waaay above that I wasn't really swept away.
The beginning was quite interesting but mid way through I couldn't really be bothered, I just wanted to get through it.
Finished it within a day.
I Recommend this for any teen.. im sure they'll appreciate it more than I did.
Thank you Netgalley and Level Best Books for the eArc.
Just a little too slow of a burn for me. The characters were well developed, and the relationships (aside from the main romantic relationship) were all well done and realistic. I just felt like the main relationship lacked much real development. I just didn't feel like these characters would have let so much time go by without a date, despite having such big feelings for each other at the end.
Points for a very realistic ending though!
This book sounded so promising, based on the back of book blurb that I read. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like it lived up to the expectations I had. There were some typical YA parts that were fine, the main character and her best friend had a great relationship, and the school stuff was pretty standard. The writing itself was fine; I didn't find myself trying to re-word sentences or rephrase paragraphs at all. It was an easy read, if a bit of a let down. The ending was too realistic, and I don't really read these kinds of books for realism, so that was frustrating. I think my biggest problem was that I expected a different story than I got. It wasn't bad, just not what I wanted.
I loved this book, the charatcers and its writing!!
plot:
Seventeen-year-old Scarlett, unlike her theatrically gifted parents, is not one to spend time near a spotlight. Scarlett dreams of becoming a renowned fashion designer, where she can flex her creative talents away from a crowd. So it's no surprise when she sneaks into her school's costume shop to explore the racks. Unexpected, however, is coming face-to-face with Nathaniel Wilder, a talented theater student who piques a new interest.
my thoughts:
I loved the characters in this book! I think it was quite slow burn however, I really didn't mind. It was a sweet romance novel that made me feel all warm and fuzzy in some places and like I was back in high school. I think its a great read for anyone who likes a good romance book.

I want to start by saying that teenage me would have enjoyed this book, but 27 year old me found it quite juvenile and hard to get into.
The main character, Scarlett felt like a typical teenage girl (we’ve been there right) but as much as she stayed she wanted the things she was working towards, it never felt like she was REALLY working towards them.
The love interest, Nathaniel, didn’t play a huge role in the story and for a YA romance novel, there was a serious lack in the romance department.
I could not finish this book, it just wasn't for me. The writing isn't bad and there were no obvious "bad" things. Just a few minor things that bugged me for example, "I don't even know the guy, but he I already distrust him. 'He brought a handle with him?'" this line is not something I can image a 16-17 saying, it's to outdated. Also there is a mention of Scarlett using Facebook, I don't know anyone under the age of 25 that still uses Facebook for anything other than keeping up with older family members. I made it to 40% before giving up. I do not like Scarlett. I think she's judgmental and a hypocrite. Maybe she grows and becomes a likable character, but I'm not going to stick around to find out. I'm giving the book 3 stars because I do think some people will like it, it's just not my cup of tea.
1.5 stars! This book took me FOREVER to read. The main character is a 17 year old but she has a maturity level of a 13 year old. The YA Romance was basically non-existent because Scarlett is so in her head that she's blocking Nathaniel out completely even though she has a crush on him, and the ending?? We won't even talk about how unrealistic her learning curve for sewing was.
If you want to cringe at this 17 year old's thoughts and decisions, this is the book for you,

We meet Scarlett who loves everything about clothes and dreams to become a fashion designer and when the opportunity strikes with the theatrics department for her friend with making 50s themed dress, nothing can stop her that is until she finds herself in-front if a sewing machine and having zero clue as to how to work it. Nathaniel is a theatre student who is aspiring to become an actor and helps her through the process. The book is a quick read and fast paced with alot of attention to detail and setting the scene, apart from the info dump while needed but unnecessary in many scenes, Alison made this story truly unique for readers.

4.25⭐️
A sweet, cute, romance and a bit emotional novel with loveable characters. Being this book as her debut novel, the author has done a great job :) The main character’s relationship with her best friend kind of reminded me of the same with my best friend. So, that felt quite personal. The last scene was written so well that I felt like I’m the one who’s saying that goodbye.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I found it really tough to get through. The main character was boring and most of the book was being in her head. Her and her best friend spend most of their time telling each other they are a great friend without doing anything. I didn’t enjoy it at all. The romance was flat and I have no idea what drew the characters to one another other.
Thank you to NetGalley and LevelBestBooks for this ARC.
I know this book is YA, but a lot about it made the characters feel younger than they actually were. A lot of the inner monologues felt immature and the plot felt very one sided, with very little focus on the relationship between Scarlett and Nathanial, and more on the trivial drabble going on in Scarlett's head. A lot was cliche, but incredibly well executed, Writing style was fantastic. Quick and easy read.
Steering through future dreams, high school drama, college hopes, and a little romance, this is a cute read.
Scarlett's parents might entertain an audience with their on-stage talent, but Scarlett prefers to stay out of the spotlight and create the costumes. After high school, she hopes to attend a great fashion school, but that also means that she has a lot of work ahead of her...and she might be in need of a little help along the way. Luckily, when searching through the theater club's stored wardrobe, she runs into an interesting Senior, who's not only a talented actor but guides her in the right direction. He also captures her interest. Scarlett's life is anything but easy, and soon, she finds herself battling on many fronts and isn't sure she won't fail miserably at all of them.
This is high school romance pure. It holds more than a few cliches...and that's good so. Scarlett's plate is packed full like many high school students. She's trying to balance family, a job, classes, future college dreams, and general life...and that while still having to learn a lot about...well, everything. Her reactions are very fitting to the age group and jump right along with her emotions. She tries her best but has quite a bit to learn, not only about sewing but about relationships and herself.
Scarlett is a determined girl, who isn't really scared to speak her mind but just doesn't always know how to handle things. It's easy to root for her as she deals with life as best as she can. Especially her best friend throws in a familiar side, which does a great job at reflecting friendship at the age. The romance doesn't overtake the plot completely, which was a nice bonus, and the ending does twist all of this in an unexpected way. It is a bit odd on the time flow, at times, but never confusing. I also would have enjoyed a bit more depth on the fashion end, since she does have such an interest in it as her future career.
High school romance fans are sure to enjoy this one quite a bit. It's an easy read with aspects to predict as well as a couple which surprise.
I had so much fun reading Your Dream For Me. It's is a lovely story about two high school students managing expectations and living their dreams. Alison Schaffir creates characters you can identify with and want to know more about. This book doesn't follow a stereotypical rom com narrative, keeping you on your toes and trying to figure out what's going to happen next.
I liked the character having a strong hobby and friendships, and also found the handling of serious topics like response to SA to be decent, but this book was not for me. I wish the inner monologue had been a little more developed and could have used a bit more plot to drive the pace
This is a very sweet young adult romance book. It brought me back to my high school days when just a mere conversation with someone that you find cute makes you all of a sudden develop a crush. Or when there’s a simply misunderstanding and people rush to judgments about what they think you did or didn’t do. Shaffir really hit the nail on the head, as if she was just in high school! This was a slow burn kind of romance, but I do wish there was a little more romance to it. The characters were well developed so that I knew their personalities well. The ending is a bit of a shocker for me, something I didn’t see coming. I wanted to be able to talk to the characters at the end, and give them advice. This book is perfect book to be made into a movie! I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes young adult romance.
Your Dream For Me was definitely a YA book. A lot of the scenes were very juvenile and the dialogue was at times frustrating. The story was very sweet and a good Valentines Day read, though.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book. The views in this review are entirely my own.
I’ll keep this one pretty short. I did not love this one. I enjoy a lot of YA books but it felt very juvenile to me. A lot of the dialogue (internal especially) for Scarlett read a lot younger than seventeen. I had a hard time being invested in the characters as well. Macie was kind of a brat. And Nathaniel had a really stupid reason for ghosting her towards the end. Just not my favorite.
This was a cute YA novel! It dealt with some very serious, realistic issues teenagers face, as well as having some very sweet and tender moments of friendship and young love. I loved Scarlett's character being so into fashion and behind-the-scenes action because I feel like many YA novel FMC characters are about being in the spotlight (which is not a bad thing!) but I liked this story showing a different kind of spotlight. Nathaniel was a sweet teenage boy-- he had great patience and maturity for someone his age and that made him kinda unrealistic to me but he was such a good person that I loved him anyway. I also loved Macie, and her friendship with Scarlett, and just all the ways these teenagers deal with very real and intense situations and emotions. I hope that a teenager reading this story would be comforted in seeing on the page just one way to be a friend and source of comfort. Overall, very cute, quick read! Thank you for the ARC :)
I honestly wasn't sure where this book would go as I had read the synopsis a while ago, but it was not quite what I was expecting, and that just made it that much better. At one point, I was like, whatever I thought about this book was wrong, but then the problem got fixed, and It made my little romance heart happy.
