Five stars! If you've been around me for very long, you know that Dianne Freeman's Countess of Harleigh series is my absolute favorite. I eagerly await the release of a new book each year. Frances is a gem and I always love reading more of her adventures.

With half-hearted apologies to all the other books that were in line, this one jumped to the front of the line as soon as it was available through NetGalley! And it did not disappoint. I was absolutely delighted to preview this marvelous book. It was fun. It was engaging. There was just the right amount of tension. I loved revisiting favorite characters and seeing new friends and neighbors pop up throughout the book. The variety of personalities was just so much fun! My best friend and I both received eARCs of this, so we had a blast going back and forth about this scene and that detail all the way through. The dialogue. The adventures. The twists. The mystery. The humor. It's. just. so. good. There are basic elements that show up in every CoH book, and yet Dianne Freeman does such a wonderful job of bringing them in a fresh, delightful way that keeps me engaged and entertained the whole way through. If you somehow haven't read these books yet, start with A Lady's Guide to Etiquette and Murder - and then catch up to here. If you have read the prior installments, you probably know how good this one will be! I loved every minute I spent reading this book. My only complaint is that it ended. All this leaves me with just one question ...is it time for Book Seven yet?

When Frances, formerly Lady Harleigh, is asked to present Lady Winstead's niece at court, she thinks nothing of it. But then she's drawn into an intrigue: who is poisoning Lady Winstead and how will she stop them?

This cozy mystery has great characters, a fast paced and interesting A plot and a cute B plot with Frances & George's ongoing romance. I love Lady Harleigh and I look forward to buying the book when it comes out.

Another enjoyable outing with the Countess of Harleigh, although I did find that this one seemed to drag on a bit.

*Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an e-galley in exchange for an honest review.

I love cozy mysteries, and this combo of cozy + historical + romcom is just perfect!

I adore the couple who are this story's main characters. Frances is headstrong and George is intelligent and adequately accommodating, and their conversations are tastefully humorous. At any rate, they're delightful together!

"He snuck a peek at me. I rolled my eyes." 😆

And the friendships with others are fun. After all, everyone needs a friend to talk to about one's suspicions. I think that's what Bookstagram is for!

To top it off, the mystery itselfnis quite engaging. A fun read, highly recommended!
