Watch out all you women who think married men are a challenge, their wives have something up their sleeves. No matter how much money she has, or how beautiful she is, Gabriel has done something that would change the trajectory of his marriage to Adira. After finding out that her husband was having an affair with not one but two women, Adira decides to stay in her marriage. Of the two women he is seeing one, Julianna, has an even bigger role. He is in love with her. Adira decides to meet with the other woman Jocelyn and the two put together a plan that they hope will handle their situation. A light thriller with short chapters make it a very easy read. The only issue I had was with the characters. Although well developed and flawed, they just were not very likable. Almost like school girl problems. There are many twists and turns and the ending is definitely worth the wait.

Adira has it all - beauty, wealth, nice things, and a handsome husband. Her life is perfect. That is until she finds out he is cheating on her with not one but two women. But this isn’t just a typical story of a wife being mistreated. There’s lots of twists and turns and surprises along the way. Very entertaining!

The Other Mistress was a psychological thriller that ended in a way I was absolutely not prepared for!

The novel presents multiple points of views, which I always love to see! The one we hear from most is the main character, Adira, and we are taken through her relationship struggles with her partner, Gabriel.

I can’t give much more details since I don’t want to give anything away, but this is definitely one to read when it publishes in June!

The Other Mistress is my first read by this author which I picked up after reading the captivating synopsis and needing to know more and be warned this one will blow you away. I can see why this author has come to be known as an excellent mystery thriller author. From the intricately woven twists you won’t see coming to the complex and nuanced characters who are easy to feel connected to, this one isn’t too be missed. Perfect for fans of domestic suspense and drama. Overall, the story was easy to get lost in and made you want to read just one more chapter. The length and pace were spot on and there weren’t any parts which dragged or felt like filler. I loved the idea of the other mistress and it made me question what I’d do if I found out my husband was having an affair with not one but two other women. I’d highly recommend this absorbing, charming and fun to read story and will be keeping my eye out for more by this author.

The Other Mistress is a juicy book about various aspects of marital and other relationships, (dis)trust and loyalty. The short chapters and clipped and sharp writing quickly grabbed my attention but not entirely in good ways. The characters are all infuriating, immature and unrelatable. A lot of drinking goes on and poor choices are made. However, author Shanora Williams really coaxes and teases in her clever way with words.

Self-made millionaire Adira is aghast to discover her hot husband Gabriel is unfaithful to her, not with just one woman but two. Jocelyn and Julianna are both glamorous, particularly Julianna with whom Gabriel is clearly in love. In spite of this, Adira continues to love her husband, though she questions everything, including herself and his "business" trips and "meetings". Oddly, she decides to meet with Jocelyn who has a suggestion on how to handle this tricky situation. Twists and turns start and don't stop until the very end. While the writing itself and building of tension are wonderful, I disliked the premise more than I thought and the characters don't have redeeming traits.

Domestic suspense readers may really like this book. Do know there are several trigger warnings which are discussed by the author at the get go. Though I am typically smitten with Thrillers and Suspense, The Other Mistress just wasn't my wheelhouse. It's a me thing.

My sincere thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for providing me with an early digital copy of this novel. While it did not

I received a hardcopy of this book in March at a SIBA event. The author was so easy to like and I'm so glad that I was able to meet her there. I was excited to read this book after listening to her discuss it; however, I almost didn't finish it. I find a woman pining over a man who has cheated multiple times irritating, but from everything that I have heard, Shanora has the best twists...and I was determined to figure out what that was. I am so glad that I did! I never expected that ending! It was the big "OOOHHH" moment and everything from the beginning fell into place. Shanora Williams lives up to her reputation. So glad that I stuck with it.

This book will keep you from being productive. However, I give this one 5 stars and would have given more if that was an option. I also thought I had it figured out but I could not predict the shocking twists and turns. Put this one on your list you will not be disappointed!

This is a thriller focused on a wife learning her husband is cheating on her and with more than one woman. She is very affluent and that is clear in the book and has a lot of money.

There are flashbacks to childhood for the MC to help us fill in the gaps and foreshadow for this thriller.

The twist was well done and I think a lot of people will enjoy this. Thanks so much to the publisher for my ARC in exchange for my review.

this was my first shanora williams novel and it certainly won't be my last!!!

the twists and turns in this one had my head spinning, and MC gabriel was WILD y'all. simply WILD. not only did he have one mistress but two?? like where does one have time for this?? and how the heck does he keep his life straight?? it was so unbelievable, it was addicting, and I was just along for the ride.

if you know anything about me, you know that short chapters are my kryptonite. they make me absolutely FLY through books! and this one was no exception.

williams was a fantastic writer, and I cannot wait to pick up more books from this author in the future!

The Other Mistress is a fast-paced, page-turner thriller full of drama, mystery, and twists and turns.

Adira is a successful businesswoman, she may be a workaholic but she's happy and very much in love with her husband Gabriel. That is until Adira's hunch proves to be correct and Gabriel is found kissing another woman, this leads her down a dangerous path of discovering Gabriel not only has one mistress but two...

I didn't particularly like any of the characters, I had so much rage over their actions up until the very end and then I just felt sad for them. Nothing made sense and nothing was as it seemed. I did not see that ending and twist coming but it all came together.

Shanora did a great job writing this story, the short chapters were easy to read and follow and the way she teased us giving just enough details to go off of and assume but then putting it all together with an explosive ending that left me shocked.

I appreciate the author's letter in the very beginning discussing the traumas this book has (child abuse, pedophilia, and sexual assault) that may be triggering to readers. It also touches on mental illness and the repercussions of letting it go unaddressed.

The emotions this book invoked in me, I was annoyed with Gabriel, and then frustrated with Adira, and then angry at the two mistresses. I wanted Adira to be strong and not beg Gabriel to stay with her. As the story progresses you understand why but the ending left me sad, a little confused, and hoping for a better outcome for a character and a different one for others.

I recommend picking this one up if you enjoy twisted psychological thrillers that leave you reeling.

Thank you, NetGalley, Kensington Books, and Shanora William’s for the arc in exchange for an honest review. Publication day is June 27, 2023.

While I enjoyed this thriller overall, there were definitely a few things I could have done without. Constant name dropping and a slow beginning had me frustrated but by the end I really liked it.

Omg holy....I did NOT see that ending coming.!!! I love it when a book goes in a direction that you didn't even consider and this one definitely did that. Fantastic read!!! First for me from this author but she is now on my authors to watch list.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.

*thriller
I loved how the author pulled me into her book! I loved the short chapters. It kept me on the edge of my seat. But I got so angry that I really lost interest. It did come perfectly together at the end I appreciated that the author shared Trigger warnings of sexual assault and child abuse.

Adira is a self-made woman. She battled a hard past, but now she runs her own business and has an amazing husband. That is until she finds out about the mistress. This sets her off on a dangerous road, but then she finds out her husband Gabriel has not one, but TWO mistresses. What will Adira do to save her marriage?

I read the preface, and honestly, I didn't know how I'd feel about this book, but WOW. This book was amazing. The writing was so gripping that I hated to put it down. I was sucked in from the very first page.

This story had it all. Danger, drama, mystery. The characters were so real. So relatable. You feel for them through the bad, and you cheer through the good. It was easy to get lost in this story.

This is a first for me by this author, but it will not be the last. I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for this opportunity. I was won over quickly by the amazing writing and the compelling story. I can't wait to read more.

Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for providing me an ARC copy! Not going to lie...the first 80ish% of this book had me in a rage. The main character wanting to destroy her husband's two mistresses but live happily ever after with her husband AND have a baby with him?! I seriously wanted to chuck my kindle across the room. But then ohhhhhh. I won't spoil it, but what a twist 🤯 Definitely recommend giving this book a read. 4.5⭐

In the beginning, I wasn’t sure how this was going to pan out. I was on the fence as to whether or not I’d like it.

But, surprisingly enough, it all came together beautifully!!

The twists came together, but I felt I had a few unanswered questions left.

Still well worth the read.

The Other Mistress follows the life of Adira, a successful businesswoman who was seemingly happy with her life with her husband Gabriel. Adira discovers Gabriel has been having an affair with Jocelyn. She then discovers Gabriel is having an affair with another woman as well, Julianna. This pushes Adira over the edge. Out of rage she contacts Jocelyn prepared for confrontation when Jocelyn convinces Adira to spy on Julianna since Jocelyn has ended things with Gabriel and she is not the threat. Aidra thinks there’s no harm in spying on the mistress who has all of her husband’s attention. This takes her down a dangerous, scandalous, and deadly path.
What happens next is a slow, wild, heart-stopping, and heart-breaking revelation after revelation.
Things were not what they appeared to be and leads to an explosive conclusion in true Shanora Williams style. This was a 4* read. Thank you Kensington Books and NetGalley for the E-Arc and the chance to review it!
