This book is just like a cuddle from some lambs. It's pretty akin to a Hallmark movie, but the sweetness does not reach the level of saccharine. Good character development, and interesting subplots around the main plot line.

I really liked the characters in this book. Some bits of the story felt a bit flat but overall I enjoyed it. I'd like this to become a series and read about some of the other characters.

This was a sweet cozy story, short but a lovely read. I really enjoyed reading about the farm and how the owners struggled through their days trying to keep it running. I found it all very interesting and was sorry when I came to the end. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book read very much like a Hallmark movie... Which normally doesn't bother me, but somehow all the conversation parts seemed very stifled and forced. The story felt almost half baked and the writing was a little all over the place.

I liked the general idea of the story... But wish there had been something more. What happened in the end to Aunt Sue? What happened there should have been a bigger deal...

I feel like everything was rushed and focus was put on the wrong things

Right book, right cover, wrong blurb!

The blurb is for a totally different book, however I really enjoyed this story of Polly and who helps turn around a farm with her expertise.

Would definitely recommend and would read more from this Author.

Really enjoyed this book, enjoyed the narrative of the main characters. The setting of the story was used well too. Perfect sofa read!

This was a cute romance story, perfect for a younger audience or readers who prefer closed door.
This book does read very young, but I appreciated the plot, the romance, and the characters. The descriptions of the farm really made me wish I could visit! Some of the writing gets very repetitive, especially because the author seems to never use pronouns.
Overall the book was fine, but forgettable.

This was a super sweet, quick read, I devoured it in one sitting. I loved Poppy, I quickly felt like I could relate to her character and found her enthusiasm towards the farm contagious, it made me want to borrow some wellies and go find some goat parkour. I loved the focus on the family in this book, the male love interests Dad is just the sweetest and immediately made you feel welcomed into the story at the farm, I loved that he had a romance as well.

Thank you to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley UK for a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book a 3.5/5. I think the issue with this books lies in the marketing/classification. I read this book through NetGalley and the description was for a different book entirely from the same author, so I was left confused for quite awhile before I figured it out. The book is also listed as Romance, and I saw somewhere it was also listed as Holiday Romance, and these things just don’t really seem to match. There was Easter! For about a second, that’s the only holiday. When there was romance, it happened very sparingly, right at the beginning, and right at the end, and both times we went from “I hate you” to “I love you” in just a paragraph. There was also a glossary in the back of the book for US readers to translate British slang, but 90% of the words weren’t used in the book - I kept looking at the glossary and wondering when we’d run into police/military troubles as that’s what most of the glossary was about. Then there were words in the book I didn’t know that were not in the glossary 🥴.

If I were to look at this as just contemporary fiction…it wasn’t a bad book! It’s a lovely story about a young woman who’s turning her bad luck around and helping a farm. The two men who own and run the farm are lovely people, out of all the characters John was my favorite. If the book was turned into a first person point of view, and either removed the “romance” or increased it to more clearly classify as romance, then I think this was would a nice book to read on the weekend. It wasn’t long at all and one could probably finish it while lounging around on a Sunday.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

I am in about 25% of the book and nothing is happening. I can't read a book like that, so i guess its going to be a DNF, and i probably won't start reading it again.

“Falling in love at Nightingale Farm” by Emma Bennet is the story of Polly, a young woman from London who has decided to help John and his grumpy son Mark save their broken farm. As Polly is helping out with the farm, we see her struggling with a secret. We also see Mark grow softer and much less grumpy. This sweet little romance is truly like a hallmark movie. It was such a nice cozy read. I couldn’t put the book down. We see how the farm makes out, how all the characters grow from the hardships they are struggling with. “Falling in love at Nightingale farms” is heartwarming and welcoming. I absolutely fell in love with the farm as well as the characters.

A fabulous, feel good book. From the first chapter I was hooked on the characters relationships with each other. This meant the pages just kept turning and I was eager to keep reading. Although easy to guess what might happen in the end it made it no less enjoyable. I loved reading this heartwarming book.

Not sure why the description is wrong here, but this story has Polly, a young woman from London, coming to the farm of John and his son Mark. John asks her to help him learn how to save the farm, and while Mark is grumpy at first, naturally a romance will soon emerge. Enjoyed this one and found it hard to put down. Sweet story, great characters. Would recommend.

Falling In Love At Nightingale Farm has all the elements of a potentially happy romance story. The title makes you want to read it. The story begins with recently redundant Polly getting a reference from her mother for an old friend with a farm that's failing. Can Polly help him save it? So she heads off to the countryside from London to see what can be done.

I had a lot of trouble with the points of view in this story. Most of the narrative seemed to be from Polly's POV in third person however it would be written Polly said, Polly was feeling, etc. and no use of pronouns. Same with other story characters or with multiple characters in one scene. At times, I wasn't sure whose point of view told the scene.

Polly is a ruminator, an over-thinker and jumps to conclusions. Every interaction is analyzed, replayed from various angles and it's all in her head. On her first visit to the farm when she is invited to stay overnight she doesn't want to sleep in the house because she is attracted to the farmer's son Mark. Then it's played off she sleeps in an abandoned cottage because she's tough and independent. Later, a glass of hard cider has her initiating a kiss with Mark. She ruminates and wobbles and spins over this attraction like a twelve year old girl instead of a supposedly savvy business woman who lives independently in London.

Mark, at first and for a lot of good reasons, didn't trust Polly's ability to help them save the farm. His easy-going father John seemed to jump all in immediately which made it clear (to me) why the farm might be failing. However, Polly comes up with ideas she helps them to develop, the plans begin to work, things are looking good and Mark has warmed up to all of it, including Polly. Most of their interactions are work/farm situations, short and stilted conversations, etc. At one point, Polly invites Mark to stay at her apartment in London when he has a conference, related to his woodworking business, but aside from shared hot chocolate and his offer to give her one of his handmade coffee tables, nothing happens. In fact the second night of his stay is eliminated completely after he sends her a text signed Mark x and she ruminates about the x. Well, what was the x??

This could be a good story but in my opinion it's not quite baked. The POV needs to be clarified, the interactions with Polly and Mark need fleshing out and some of the unfinished scenes need work. One scene I did like is when Mark comes to offer Polly a job at the new farm, admits he has feelings for her then say he loves her. Polly responds with, "That escalated fast." This cracked me up!

I appreciate and thank Emma Bennet, Joffe Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This love story makes you want to go and visit a zoo and and strawberry picking.

At the beginning you find that Polly, who is the main character is hiding something from her family and this is a big part of the story.

Polly is an organised person when she’s doing her job.

I recommend this book.

This was a new author for me and loved that this was a cosy escapism read and perfect for curling up with. During the holidays. I read it in one sitting as couldn’t put it down and wanted to see how the story developed.

This was an uplifting and lighthearted read with a beautiful setting and relatable characters. I would love a sequel to see where the characters journey takes them.

Will definitely be looking out for more by this author.

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC!

This sweet, short story was so cozy and enjoyable that it honestly felt like a warm hug. It's been awhile since I've read a romance that was just so sweet and pure and grounded. I also fell in love with the farm, it was so easy to imagine it and imagine what it would be like to be there. Definitely something you should read if you just want to be happy.
