Book two of this series! Leslie North is killing it with this series! I love sports romance especially when when it involves basketball, my favorite sport. This was a fast paced, easy read for me. Entertaining and hooked from the beginning. Love the main characters, they suited each other.

I struggled with this book but it wasn't because of the content but the formatting. Whenever a new scene was coming up there wasn't anything that helped me figure that out. It would just jump to a new conversation or location which just left me confused more times than I would've liked. A bit of spacing or a little ~ added-in would've gone to great lengths to make this soo much better.

Thanks to NetGalley for this quick read! I've really been enjoying this series as they get straight to the action of the story, the characters are well developed, and I find myself unable to put the book down.

In Top-Scoring Player, a star NBA player finds himself agreeing to a bet with a teammate to beat the scoring record. One catch - he has to live with their team mascot, a fiesty and beautiful woman that everyone loves but him.

The story includes a lot of banter, quick resolution of conflicts, steamy romance, and even some tearjerking moments.

If you want an easy, fun, and quick read, pick up this one (or another book by Leslie North).

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd in a series, but reads completely as a stand alone. This is a cute story-but for me totally unbelievable. Still it was fun. Chase in the NBA and Willow the team mascot. 3.5 stars

Loved this! It reminded me of an old Nora Roberts story from way back in her career, but this was better. I wouldn’t change a single thing! The characters, the banter, the romance….perfect.

Willow was a fun character to read. Chase, too. Together, their story will make you hope you have the time to keep reading and reading.

I hope this is the start of more books one the NBA team world. Tarek needs a story, too. I NEED to learn what happened when his mother found the pregnancy test. I want more pranks and hijinks, more displays of kindness.

Playboy NBA player accepts a bet that he can stay away from women for the season. The team’s female mascot is put in charge of monitoring the player’s every move. They soon find they have a mutual attraction for each other.

Thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to review the advance copy of this book.

Wow. I loved this one. And it went very differently than book one. I loved the relationship between the two characters as it developed

Great read. Both characters had been hurt before and didn't want to be hurt again. They both gave so much to the community even though they both had been through so much. I love reading books by this author.

Almost direct after No More Sidelines I started on the second part of the Solomon Pro Athletes series. Same team, totally different players!

Whereas Marcus is a grumpy old man, Chase is the prince charming of the team. Charming every woman out of her panties to be precise. Superstitious as they are, some of the guys believe that sex causes a player to perform less on the field. Hence the bet to steer clear from women. To ensure no rules are broken during the bet, both players get someone assigned to monitor them.

When Willow, the team mascott, is asked to monitor chase, she is hesitant. But when she learns she needs to stay at his house and she will get a big reward, she is all in just kicked out of her own apartment and a very sick nephew in need of funds for his final wish make the decision very easy.

Chase never bothered to get acquainted with the team mascott. Especially since she doesn’t seem to like her very much. Willow doesn’t like shallow people, she has had a lifetime of those. Instead, she tries to be meaningful in other lifes. So, she isn’t very impressed with prince charming.

Forced to live together under one roof, however, changes the way Willow and Chase see each other. maybe there is a less shallow side to Chase. And maybe now Chase will understand why his whole team is so enamored with their mascott.

A wonderful, touching story. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I really loved this enemies-to-lovers novel by the very prolific Leslie North. Its focus on pro athletes with a rom-com slant is a huge departure from the Leslie North I've previously read, and it just might be a favorite.

Here, NBA heartthrob Chase goes toe to toe with perky and benevolent team mascot Willow. He's on track to break an offensive record and bets his friend and teammate--another contender--that he can stay celibate through the season. Willow is chosen to serve as his bet monitor, but of course they start to develop The Feelings.

Willow and Chase are adorable together, though their jump from happily sniping at each other to soulfully kissing each other's socks off seems a little quick. It also seems odd that a guy constantly in the tabloids hangs out with her multiple times in public without getting plastered across TMZ.

Also, what the heck does Willow look like? I really hate not getting at least a cursory description.

Otherwise, this book is super fun and a fast read that with make you smile and, perhaps, she'd a tear or two.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

Willow and Chase are rom-com gold. Their chemistry and banter is great and I enjoyed it immensely. This book was light hearted with a little sprinkle of drama and a good helping of spice!

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to review this book, it was a beautiful story and I absolutely adore Willow. 5 Stars. Writing flowed nicely, I didnt hit any moments of snag.

Review with fluff and formatting removed:

NBA star Chase Holbrook’s reputation with women is as legendary as his skill on the court. But when his affairs seem poised to distract him from the game, Chase accepts a team bet to steer clear of women for the season. Shouldn’t be a problem for the ultra-competitive Chase — until the team’s annoyingly cute team mascot is tasked with monitoring his every move.

I cannot express my love enough for Willow. What a beautiful heart she has to be so selfless, to give so much of herself to others and I'm so very glad that Chase gets to be loved by her (and love her in return).

"We all want the same things in life—security, freedom, love. Some just have a more difficult time reaching them." -Willow "Bolt" Bend

I flew through this book and I found it to be quite enjoyable. I cried, I loved and I am very much looking forward to reading another book by Leslie North.

My first book of the year and I'm so happy to have read it.

I picked up the book because I was bored and it was short but honestly I greatly disliked it.

First, there is nothing I hate more in books than the "I'm not like other girls" trope. Like we get it, you are a "sporty" girl who wouldn't dare "primp" like a supermodel. There are so many other ways to describe the main female protagonist than to tear down other women.

Second, this book was simply doing too much to prove that she was an incredibly selfless philanthropist- Willow did not have to do 7 million things for charity.

Third, I didn't really like the male protagonist. He was just kind of boring.

And finally, the writing style was incredibly childish.

Thus, I will not be reading any more books by this author.

This is the 2nd book in the “Solomon Pro Athletes Series”. This is an entertaining, interesting fast-faced, easy quick read with great characters and a great plot that held me captive and turning page after page. Chase is a star NBA baller and he is legendary with the women. His game is being distracted by the women that keep him company. Chase accepts a bet to stir clear of women. Willow is the team mascot and she has been tasked with keeping an eye on Chase and stirring him clear of women. As Willow and Chase are spending more and more time together the two are getting more than they bargained for. The two are feeling each other and the chemistry is awesome between the two.

Will Chase win or lose the bet, is there an HEA in store for Willow and Chase?

I am a big fan of Leslie North, so I was excited to get an advanced copy of Top-Scoring Player. This book is a change up from the other books I've read by Ms. North. Chase Holbrook is a professional basketball player. Willow Bend is the team mascot. Chase hates the antics of the mascot and Williow. Willow thinks Chase is a womanizing, self-centered jerk. Both are more than the surface that the other sees. They are thrown together when Chase accepts a celi-bet and Willow is his monitor. This book feels like a slow build-up, although technically, it is only over the course of a couple of months. It is well written and I really enjoyed their love story. It is one of my favorite books by Leslie North. 5 stars. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy for this honest review!

Chase has it all. He's a successful and highly-paid player in the NBA, he's attractive, and women want to be with him but he's not content because it's not his dream. The NBA is just a job to him. He doesn't love how the mascot for his team, Bolt, makes fun of him during games. When he accepts a bet from his best friend and fellow NBA player, he is forced to spend a lot of time with Willow (aka Bolt) and he soon discovers that maybe she's the thing that's been missing in his life.

Willow is a bit of a dreamer but she takes care of everyone around her as she dreams her dreams. She is high-energy and always into something. She has been watching Chase for the past two years and can't figure out why he's the only guy on the team that she doesn't get along with. She accepts the job as his bet monitor because she wants to be sure he's a good guy before she asks him for a huge favor.

Chase and Willow shouldn't work together if you just scratch the surface of their characters. The author did a good job showing how Chase had lost his way after he joined the NBA. It wasn't preachy it was just a guy learning that he had on blinders. Willow doesn't really grow or change during the story but she does get some much-needed focus. There are some fun moments as Chase realizes how much Willow does for everyone around them. The end of the story is nice and really touching (get your tissues ready because it will make you tear up).

There is a scene where Chase puts on the Bolt costume and it just baffles me. Either the costume fits a guy that's 6'8" or it fits a woman a foot shorter. Also, he's big and broad and muscular and she's small and ultra-fit with long lean muscles. How do they both fit in the same costume?! If it fits him, she wouldn't be able to perform tricks and stunts in it because it would have way too much excess fabric. If it fits her, he would be straining the seams and the length. That really bothered me. Also, there are some contradictions in the story. For example, either Chase is detached from the community he grew up in or he's not. The fact that he still hangs out at Sol's gym is a problem because it means he should know Willow spends time there and it means that he is involved in his old neighborhood. I just felt like that needed to be explored more.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. It's an excellent follow-up to No More Sidelines. I will definitely read the next book in the series.
