So many twists in this one! It's quite a dark read, definitely not light hearted gossip but a very good thriller. Looking forward to reading more from the author based on this.
Oh, no... definitely not. Terribly boring, totally far from my expectation!
The nail salon is a place of gossip and when we meet people who just pretend to live their perfect lives. Yep, we all know such places, not only in London. but I expected something more like Gossip Girl vibes and get bored housewives and family affairs. So... I truly believe that there are better stories than this one and felt like I have wasted my time on that one.
“The Nail Salon” by Natalie Tambini is a gripping thriller set in a seemingly perfect suburb outside of London. The story unfolds with the mysterious disappearance of a teenage girl, which leads DCI Sue Fisher and her team to peel back the layers of a community where appearances are everything, and you can’t trust anything. As the investigation progresses, the interconnected lives of bored housewives, cheating husbands, and disaffected teens become entangled in a web of secrets and lies.
Natalie Tambini’s “The Nail Salon” is a masterful blend of suspense and social commentary, offering a dark and disturbing look at the underbelly of suburban life. The mix of gossipy scenes and police procedural is satisfying and suspenseful.
i really really enjoyed this book, gripping from the start to the end
great plot well executed i want more please
This one was really dark and not at all what I expected. I guess I imagined it would be more about the gossipy nail salon and dirty little secrets of the "rich and undeserving". That wasn't this book at all. The nail salon owner is not a good or mentally stable person. And those that frequent her place of business or become intertwined in her life have a whole lotta bad stuff happening. For anyone with triggers, this will hit pretty much every one of them. So steer clear if that's an issue. Luckily I don't have many things that are a no go for me (animals being hurt really really bothers me, and there is some of that in here also) so I was able to finish this one.
I enjoyed this book so much. It was fast paced and not what I was expecting. It was really easy to follow and took so really good unexpected turns too.
A pretty good read with quite a few unexpected twists. Some aspects could have been approached with a bit more sensitivity but overall gripping story.
Could not put this down! Plenty of shocks along the way although I thought the gender switch at the end wasn’t necessary as it didn’t add anything to the rest of the story & felt that it wrapped up SUPER quickly at the end.
Well this is a little bit dark isn’t it? And I was all for it. Whilst I didn’t have a clue who was what half the time, I was completely hooked on the plot.
The authors writing style is completely a bit of me, definitely one to recommend to those who aren’t afraid of a bit of darkness.
There are some epic twists, which I for one never saw coming. I do wish that it had of been a bit longer and other characters had been developed more, especially Rob.
Off to read the authors previous book, add this to your TBR now.
Melanie owns a local nail salon and is highly trusted by her customers, who confide in her about their personal lives. This includes matters such as infidelity, financial woes, drug abuse, and more. Despite the sensitive nature of these secrets, Melanie keeps them to herself. However, things take an unexpected turn when the secrets collide, causing deep fractures in the relationships that may never be repaired. The situation becomes even more complicated when a teenage girl goes missing, and DCI Sue Fisher takes up the case. Despite her own problems, she is determined to solve the issue, even if it means facing many shocking twists along the way.
I cannot say more without giving away spoilers. However, I have never encountered a gripping thriller as The Nail Salon. If you are looking for a book that will keep you hooked from the beginning to the end, you should get yourself a copy of The Nail Salon. I recommend that you switch off your phone and settle down in a comfortable chair because you won't be able to put the book down once you start reading it. I am eagerly looking forward to reading the author's next book. I give The Nail Salon 5 stars.

It's original, dark and delicious fun to read.
Wow, so many twists and turns, I was quite dizzy by the end. Just when you think you know what's going on, you don't. A really good read, something to lose yourself in on a rainy day.
OMW, this book was just so good!! Kept me guessing right to a very unexpected ending!! Loved the way it was written, a very well planned and thought out book. Love to read more from this author.
Many thanx to NetGalley, the author and the publishers fro allowing me to read and review this book.
A hooked from the start, page turner of a story! This was not at all the read I expected. There are many stories that emerge though the different characters that are full of secrets. I LOVED IT!!!
This book was a tab weird but it was definitely enjoyable. I kept reading to find out what would happen.
The Nail Salon was a fun and entertaining read, that would be perfect for a summer beach day! Well written and interesting, I look forward to more of this author
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
If you are a fan of psychological thrillers then get this pre-ordered, I binge-read this book as I was desperate to find out what was happening.
The author brilliantly tackles some sensitive topics throughout the storyline so please be warned there are some triggers throughout. However, this is a very clever crime thriller as you are fully aware of the who instead you are taken on a journey of the why and how which is explored brilliantly. I certainly look forward to more from the author in the future.
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
My first book by this author and it didn’t disappoint.
Just outside London a innocent teenage girl goes missing and DCI Sue Fisher and her team start to investigate. Everything looks perfect on the outside but as Sue and her team start to dig for answers secrets and lies are revealed.
