I do love Phillippa Ashley's books and this one was no exception. The lighthouse aspect of the story was absolutely fascinating and the Cornish location is always a winner for some quality summer escapism, which both complimented the plot perfectly.
Phillipa Ashley at her best. This is a heart-warming and beautifully told romance. You rout for the main characters all the way through and your efforts are rewarded. There is no secret in these novels about where they are going to end up, but the journey is why I love to read them and this one was fabulous.
Another book by this author I bought at some point and never read. So glad I finally got round to reading it I really loved it and have since read many more! It was a true pleasure to read.
I have read a lot of Phillipa Ashley's books and really enjoyed this one. I look forward to reading more.
Love the Cornwall setting of Phillipa's books. Set in a lighthouse part of the area has been taken by Eden for her coffee enterprise. Buying the coffee beans buying the beans, mixing and roasting. Selling the coffee to visitors, local hotels etc and also her own coffee. shop
Eden has returned to Cornwall having divorced her husband for cheating, emptying their bank accounts and also serving a prison sentence for fraud. She and her mother have a new neighbour, who like Even has secrets. Her grandma lives close by and also had secrets.
A wonderfully written story as always from Phillipa and I can't wait for the next one.
You can beat Cornwall. Love. Betyrayal. A healing heart.
Phillips sets the scene well and entices you in.
Lovely book. Like a summer holiday.
I enjoyed this book. The characters were well rounded and lovable, I liked the story line and felt it was believable. Books set in Cornwall are common but the area was brought to life in this book. I can imagine sitting in the garden of wolf cottage admiring the view of the lighthouse and out to sea.
what a lovely story to read once you start to read you cant put it down love story from past to present with a happy ending for eden and levan not giving much more as a read for oneself and always a good book from this author
An enchanting sorry if Cornish secrets and two people trying to rebuild their lives after terrible experiences, albeit they were very different.
Eden comes home to Cornwall after a terrible relationship ( I will say no more, for fear of spoilers!), and starts her own coffee roasting and cafe business, with her trust in people seriously shattered. She finds peace at home with her mum Sally and her granny Iris, a true character who lives near by.
When stranger Levan moves next door, hiding secrets of his own past, can Eden open up her heart and trust again.
A fun, yet emotional read, that had me hooked from the start.
One of my favoured authors does it again. The perfect feel good Christmas novel set in wonderful surroundings. Loveable cgaracters abd a fun story.
Cornwall, betrayal, secrets, love, misunderstandings; this book has them all. A feelgood easy to read story from the ever reliable Phillipa Ashley
Pure escapism and a highly recommended read. Very well researched with a great plot, likeable characters and locations which come alive to the reader. Loved the stories round the lighthouse, the cottages and the workers
Read it , you’ll love it

Back in Cornwall, the setting is a lighthouse, part of the area has been taken by Eden for her coffee enterprise. Buying the coffee beans buying the beans, mixing and roasting. Selling the coffee to visitors, local hotels etc and also her own coffee. shop.
She has returned to Cornwall having divorced her husband on various grounds. Cheating, emptied there bank accounts and also serving a prison sentence for fraud. She and her mother have a new neighbour, who like Even has secrets. Her Grandmother who lives in a retired village close by also has secrets.
It is a good read, for me not as good as some of the others but still recommend it as a 4*
A Secret Cornish Summer by Phillipa Ashley was just fabulous. Great story about Eden who has been betrayed by her husband Simon and moves back in with her mother and Levan who moves in next door. Will they be friends or more? I’m very jealous they have the lighthouse on the doorstep. Could not put this book down.
An enjoyable read.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
it was another great read, I always look forward to a Phillips Ashley book. I really enjoyed the story and how it developed.
Great storyline. Lovable characters and perfect settings all beautifully described! I enjoyed it that much I bought for my colleagues to read in the summer holidays!
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
