I loved this book - and so grateful that the publisher gave me an ARC to read via Netgalley.

I had no idea where this would end up, and had no expectations.

I loved the development of Levan and Eden's relationship, along with that of the rest of the family, and the fierceness of Eden's grandmother, Iris.

This book was full of intrigue, twists and turns, and secrets of many levels, along with a beautiful family history and love story using Cornwall as its own character. Phillipa Ashley's books make you want to travel to the setting and be a part of the story, and in this one, have one of Eden's coffees and Joe's pastries to read along with it.

I have read a few of Phillipa’s books and so couldn’t wait to start this straight away. However i wasn’t counting on spending the whole morning just reading the book without stopping until I had finished.
It was a lovely gentle romantic read based on Eden, Levan and Edens family who I loved, especially Iris her grandmother. Eden the main character was likeable and kept my interest, I felt invested and wanted her to be happy and do well after her previous problems .
The books setting was in Cornwall as the title gives away and I almost felt that I was there with them on a hot summers day, drinking coffee and taking in the view.
It was a lovely romantic plot but also without giving away any spoilers had other themes/plots to keep my interest.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend .
Thanks to Netgalley, Avon books UK and Phillips Ashley for an advanced copy in exchange for and unbiased and honest review.

Another brilliant book by Phillipa Ashley . Set in Cornwall. You could smell the coffee beans roasting. A story of learning to trust again. I love learning about life on a lighthouse. Three generations of strong woman . I love both main characters Eden and Levan.. Levan’s story was amazing . A fantastic read.

I loved this book set in beautiful Cornwall. I enjoyed the story of Eden having set up her coffee business after being badly let down by her husband. A new start for her staying with her mother and grandmother. It was a beautiful and heartwarming story. The on/off romance with Levan had it s twists and turns. I loved how this story unfolded and despite Eden learning that Levan was not quite what she at first thought they slowly but surely got together. I loved the setting and how the secrets and love unfolded.

Eden lives in a lighthouse cottage with her mother after her marriage broke down, her nan lives in a warden controlled retirement home.
Eden runs a coffee shop which is a shipping container and roasts her own beans.
A young man Levan moves into the cottage next door. And so the story unfolds.
I found this book very hard to put down.
Phillipa has an extraordinary way of getting you involved in the story line.
3 ladies 1 man and a life time friend make up the main characters of this book.
Lots of ups and downs, of friendship, mistrust and revelations. Neverca dull moment in this book.
Well done Phillipa, I do hope there is another book with these characters in.

I loved reading this book from start to finish. It has plenty to recommend it: good strong storyline, lovely characters, plenty humour and all in a splendid setting. I would highly recommend this as either a summer read or a read for brightening up a winter day.

Wow. I always look forward to a new Phillips Ashley for summer and Christmas so was really excited to get this one. I wanted to savour it, I really did, but by the end of chapter 1 I was hooked and before you know it, it was gone!
This story really lived up to its name of secret: Levan, Iris and even Eden were all hiding things for various reasons and this just added to the intrigue I loved Levan and his story was a poignant one and, although I could understand Eden’s views, I so wanted her to see the kind if person he really was. However, for me, Iris was the perfect character. She reminded so much of my own beloved nan.
This is a really good read but you’ll be itching to find out more about lighthouses, cyber security and Penzance afterwards.

What a fantastic book! The lighthouse background had me Googling lighthouse holiday cottage rentals by the end of Chapter 1! All the ingredients of a great novel are here: empathetic, strong characters, a beautiful setting and a cafe! Add in the intrigue of Leven’s past and you have the perfect book - especially if you’re off to Cornwall on holiday.
