Another very captivating read by Author Shalini Boland that will keep you guessing who the villain is until the very end! Alice Porter is walking down the isle to her awaiting bridegroom handsome Seth Evans. When Alice looks at Seth, she does not recognize him. She becomes confused and the wedding is called off. What is the problem with Alice and why the sudden amnesia causing her not to remember Seth or his family? Twists and turns are aplenty in this story and just when you think you have it figured out, there is another twist with another possibility.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the ARC of this page turner.

Alice is in a relationship with Seth and when he proposes after a year together she is so excited. But on the day of wedding, whilst walking down the aisle to meet her beloved Alice wonders who the man at the end is and where is Seth. And even more strange, why are her family going along with this fraud.
I love Shalini Boland books, I love that she messes with your head and ties you up in knots as you pick your way through the story. I found myself going back on what I'd read to see if I'd missed certain clues, but no, its all very cleverly written.

This was the best Boland book yet! I was kept guessing until the very past page. What a whirlwind! I'm a big fan of Boland, so I've read everything of hers so far. I absolutely need more from these characters!

Alice is so thrilled to be marrying Seth but when she walks into the church all dressed up and excited, it’s not Seth standing at the altar. While everyone insists that it is her Seth, Alice doesn’t recognize this man and abruptly cancels the wedding. Believable? Not at all. Entertaining? Definitely! Loved the sly ending.

Ms. Boland has done it again! Wow - what a wild ride this book is!

Alice is walking down the aisle on her wedding day, about to marry the man of her dreams. She gets to the altar, looks up, and realizes that she doesn't recognize the groom! At all! This stranger insists that he is her fiance, and her friends and family seem "in on it" as well. Alice immediately calls off the wedding, despite protestations from her fiance, friends and family. Everyone assumes that Alice is not well, but what she needs is an explanation. Where is her real fiance and why is she so confused? Worried for her own sanity, Alice sets out to discover who is messing with her, and why.

I really enjoyed this page-turning thriller. It was a fun ride. I will say, you have to suspend disbelief a little and go with the flow with this one. The characters were so fun and the story was so good that I didn't mind doing so. If you are one of these "that would never happen, that is so far-fetched", then maybe this isn't the book for you. If you like a good story, page-turning suspense, and fun writing, then I would definitely recommend this book! Perfect for the beach, pool, vacation, plane ride, anything where you can zone out for a few hours and enjoy yourself.

Special thank you to Ms. Boland the author, Netgalley, and the publisher Thomas & Mercer for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley & Amazon Publishing UK/Thomas & Mercer for an eARC of The Silent Bride by Shalini Boland. I love this author's books, so knew I was in for a twisty read when picking this one up.

This book follows our main character Alice, who is so excited to get married to her fiance, Seth. That is, until she shows up at the church and doesn't recognize him or his parents. Everyone else does, though.

The book is split between then and now - Before and after the wedding, all leading up to the shocking "WHAT?" ending. I enjoyed this book, but didn't absolutely love it. The ending was 10/10, but I feel like it took a lot of repetitive internal monologue from the character to get there, and a several the subplots which were certainly red herrings were just dragged on.

3.5 stars for me - I'll certainly continue to read whatever Shalini comes up with next as this was an extremely unique book, clever and well written.

The Silent Bride is another outstanding read from the Queen of psychological thrillers. This author is one in which I never read the blurb for any of her books as I just know it will be a 5 star read even before I start reading it . As soon as I started reading The Silent Bride I was utterly immersed in the story .
Oh wow what an absolutely brilliant read this one . I was suspicion of so many people and kept changing my mind as the story progressed. There were plenty of twists and turns and the ending was just fantastic .

How would you feel if you walk down the aisle at your wedding and don’t recognize your groom, but everyone swears it’s him?

This book was a rollercoaster for me! I can’t imagine how scary it would be to suddenly not recognize a loved one, although it’s something many people deal with in their lives. This book was fast paced and an enjoyable read - a bit far fetched with some of the twists, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I had so many different theories and guesses as to why Alice could not remember her fiancé so it was a fun read!

If you are a fan of Shalini Boland’s other work, you won’t be disappointed.

4/5 stars ⭐️

Many thanks to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

Absolutely chilling read.
I wont lie but at the start of this book I was confused with how this has happened but I'm so glad I carried on to see how this twisted story progresses.
Alice Porter is the silent bride as she arrives at the alter the man of her dreams her beloved Seth Evans is not him, a completely different person, and so are his parents, all the guests and family are telling her it is Seth and she flees the church, is she going mad? and where is the real Seth Evans? I had to read on.
Convince that she is having a mental breakdown she goes for therapy that don't show any matter of anything wrong with her things start to unfold in the story, people who she though were her closest friends and not who they seem.
Oh WOW my heart was pumping as I got into more and more chapters, gripping, wholesome, right through to more at the end. Absolutely brilliant.

I was completely gripped by this story from the very start and just could not put it down. It was so different to any other thriller I've read and kept me guessing throughout. The plotline was so good with really well developed characters. It has short, grippy chapters and I flew through it in a matter of mere hours. A really quick and easy read and I would defo recommend it to anyone looking for a good thriller read.

100% recommend guys. Make sure to add this one to the TBR piles for when it comes out later in the year.

Already looking forward to Ms. Bolands next one. One to look out for for sure.

First, I want to thank Shalini Boland, Amazon Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with this book so that I can bring you this review.

WOW!!! WOW!! WOW!!! Shalini Boland is back with another incredibly addicting and intense emotional rollercoaster of a read in The Silent Bride. You may want to clear your schedule as once you start reading the more questions you will have about the twisted storyline! You just can’t put it down til you know how it all plays out!

Instantly, I was hooked on this storyline as I put myself into Alice’s shoes! I can remember all the anxieties she was feeling right before her wedding day. However nothing could prepare Alice or myself for realizing the man at the alter was not her Seth! Who was that man?! Why was it not Seth?! Where was he?! I needed to find out!!! My mind was racing just like Alice’s!! Not to mention my heart was aching for this to be the happiest day of her life!! Now it is a nightmare that she can’t seem to wake up from!!

The Silent Bride is unlike any story I have read in the past! It was fresh, new, eye opening and totally mind blowing! I can see people talking about this book way after they are done with the book! I am dying to know how she came up with this storyline as it is so unique.

One thing that I really liked that Shalini did is when she went in the past her font turned to italics. This way you could differentiate between the past and present.

There was a big revelation that Alice had about her two past boyfriends that really resonated with me. Her lesson was an eye opener that I had never seen in myself til I saw it written in this book.

The Silent Bride threw some wicked curve balls one right after the other! The revelations in this book will just leave you speechless!! I am still in shock!!

Please, go out and put The Silent Bride by Shalini Boland on your Pre Order list to have on your TBR list! It is a must read! Definitely, a 5 star read!

Rating: 2.2/5

Alice and Seth seem like the idyllic couple and they are just about to tie the knot on their big day. But, wait a moment ... What's this? Who is that strange man standing in the church where Alice's husband-to-be should be standing. She doesn't recognize him at all. Just what is going on here?

This opening premise certainly provides an effective hook and I was interested to see how the story would develop. The narrative takes place across two time frames - the present and a non-specific earlier time prior to the wedding. The story is told predominantly from the viewpoint of Alice, but there occasional chapters interspersed that provide insights from a a further unidentified, but clearly somewhat malevolent character.

"The Silent Bride" is quite a quick read and Shalini Boland's writing style is breezy and mostly well-paced. The characterisation is okay - if on the superficial side - and for the most part the dialogue is natural - though there are some occasional stilted examples that creep in. Unfortunately, after its appealing opening, it wasn't long before I started to have less positive thoughts. As little as 15% of the way into the story it was already beginning to seem quite contrived and had echoes of disposable pulp fiction - but this was nothing when compared with what was yet to come. You really will need to take far more than a pinch of salt to swallow the twists that are to be unveiled later in the piece. Depending on your point of view, you will either find the final chapters ludicrously entertaining or else stretching credulity to the point where it is just annoying.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for supplying an ARC in return for an honest review.

The Silent Bride is a standalone psychological mystery by author, Shalini Boland. This is her best novel yet. I was absolutely hooked by the story and couldn't put it down. On her wedding day, to her horror Alice doesn't recognise the man at the altar and why is everyone convinced this man is her finance. This crazy premise had me turning pages. How on earth could that happen? Is it an imposter, does she have amnesia, you'll just have to read to find out. Featuring a fast-paced story, thrilling twists and turns and relatable characters, this intriguing novel is not to be missed. Shalini Boland is an author to watch out for. If you love mysteries, psychological thrillers or domestic drama, check this one out. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an arc.

Thank you NetGalley for the kindle copy in exchange for a honest review. Another great read from Shalini Boland. It is Alice and Seth’s wedding day. What should be their special day quickly turns into a nightmare when Alice locks eyes with the groom and doesn’t recognise him! Who is this man and what have they done with Seth? Luckily Alice has a great group of friends to support her at this difficult time. Is she right to trust them?

A brilliant, twisty psychological thriller. I loved this and literally couldn't work it out!! And more twists when you think you've got it. Amazing xx

A good premise for a mystery. Alice ready to walk down the aisle to marry Seth, suddenly does not recognise him or his parents . Needless to say, the wedding does not go ahead. Told in different time frames and from a couple of viewpoints, the plot is quite interesting. Alice is pretty gullible though and there is something suspect about her relationship with Seth (little contact with her family before the wedding) . Later we find out that her previous relationship was also strange. I am not sure that an intellegent woman (an accountant) would be so desperate to settle down that she would put up with such behaviour from her boyfriend/fiance . I am also not completely convinced by the explanations, perhaps I am too cynical ?!
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Not a bad book, but have read better

Book Title: The Silent Bride
Author: Shalini Boland
Publisher: Amazon Publishing UK
Genre: Mystery Thriller
Pub Date: May 1, 2023
My Rating: 4 Stars!

I went into this story knowing nothing about except it was written by author, Shalini Boland!
~ Yep! I am a fan ~ this is my tenth novel!

It is June 10 and is Alice Porter’s wedding day. She is about to marry Seth Evans the man of her dreams.
However, as she walks down the aisle she doesn’t recognize the groom waiting for her.
She is sure it isn’t Seth - but who is this man impersonating her fiancé? Her friends are all sure it is Seth.

The story is told ~
Then ~ the nonwedding before
Now ~ the nonwedding and after. Both told by Alice
The third voice is the Psycho!

I am a big Shalini Boland and I know she is going to lead me down a path of thinking I know what is going on.

Since I read lot of psychological thrillers there are a few things I expect:
 There will be twists and turns!
 There will be secrets!
 There will be many suspicious characters!

Although I was suspicious of nearly everyone and certainly didn’t have details ~ but I did have a big smile on my face at the ending!

As always I enjoyed reading the ‘Author’s Notes and ‘Acknowledgements’
Thank you Shalini Boland for another great read!

Also want to thank NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK for this early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for May 1, 2023
