When Alice walks down the aisle, she is excited at the prospect of spending the rest of her life with Seth, but when he turns to face her, she finds a stranger standing where her fiancé should be. Supported by her best friends, she tries to find out what has happened to her Seth, ad why everyone is trying to convince her she is wrong.
This is an excellent book, which I devoured in a few days. I have read most of Shalini’s books and I think this is her best one yet. Highly recommended.

I’m a big fan of Shalini Boland’s writing but for some reason I struggled with this latest book, I don’t know whether it’s the plot line or the characters but it didn’t really grip me

Wow, this book was amazing. I was gripped right from the first page to the last. I couldn't guess how it was going to end. This is Shalini's best book in my opinion and I can fully recommend it.

It’s Alice’s wedding day, and she’s walking down the aisle. As she looks at her groom, she doesn’t recognize him. Everyone swears this is her fiancé, but Alice is certain that the wrong man is standing at the alter and is impersonating her fiancé.

This was well written. It was captivating, really quick and easy to read, and I loved the past and present timelines. I really liked the main character, Alice.

I found the story to be more of a drama than a thriller. There was suspense, but it was a bit of an emotional ride. The very end of the book switches to more of a thriller.

While I enjoyed the ending, it seemed a bit weak to me. It had a couple of twists, but it was missing the “holy crap” factor that I search for in books. So that’s why it got 4 stars instead of 5!

Definitely recommend giving this one a read!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Would really highly recommend this book as a must read. It was such a fantastic psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns and such good mystery read with such a great story and so well written that I could not leave it down. It had very interesting characters and so well written.

Thank you NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK for the copy of The Silent Bride. I have enjoyed other books by Shalini Boland, so I read this without knowing anything about it and without having seen the cover. This one started out great and really kept me guessing about why Alice didn’t recognize her groom-to-be at the altar. It went on a little too long with nothing new really happening or being revealed, so parts felt repetitive. Then the ending came out of nowhere and didn't really make sense because there was no real lead-up. It’s not a bad book, just not particularly a good one. The writing was engaging, but the story and the characters were not.

Firstly, I am thankful for the opportunity to have received a free copy of this Ebook through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Shalini Boland has been one of my favourite authors, so was excited for his new instalment.

Seth and Alice are set to marry, but as Alice walks down the aisle and Seth turns to greet her, Alice's world falls apart. That is not her Seth. Where is he and what has happened to him, and why has all traces of him disappeared. Why is she the only one that can see the problem?

With many twits and turns along the way, I thought I had figured out the twist as I got close to the end, but nope, Shalini threw another twist in there to finish it off on a high. Definately enjoyed this one.

I rate this Ebook 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐stars and would recommend to those who enjoy their psychological thrillers!

Absolutely unputdownable! Terrifying and jawdropping. This book had me suspecting everyone before the shocking revelation came to light. Definitely a 5 star read!

I enjoyed this book. For me it's a good sign if I can't put it down until I know the ending and that's exactly what happened here. An interesting idea and I liked that almost every character could have been the guilty party rather than it being so obvious from the start. Highly recommend this if you're a fan of domestic suspense or thrillers!

Fabulous book which kept me guessing until the end. Shalini Boland books are always fantastic so when I seen this wasn’t sure what it was going to be about but knew that it would be great.

This book hooked me from page one and didn’t let go until the finial chapter.
What a great thriller. So much tension with Lots of twists and turns. Would Highly recommend this thriller to everyone who loves thrillers and books with lots of twists and turns.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book

This is an intoxicating read and one I was completely obsessed with. The premise is intriguing as well as terrifying and Boland writes like this as well. I was hooked from the beginning and keen to find out what happens. I did think the twists were obvious but they serve the plot well so I still enjoyed them. Boland does throw in a lot of red herrings to try and throw you off the scent as well. Boland flits between then and now during this which I liked as it means we know someone is behind events but we do not know for sure who, it really adds to the suspense of the book. Plus, I really enjoyed the characters in this, they were likeable and carried the story well. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK for an advance copy.

Cancel all plans while reading - I inhaled this amazing book over one weekend and resented everything that kept me away from it! The writing was top notch and the characters were very real.

5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 for The Silent Bride
By. Shalini Boland
Release date: June 1, 2023

It's Alice's wedding day and she is set to marry the most perfect man, her loving fiance Seth. Dressed beautifully, surrounded by family and friend, and walking down the aisle with her father, her entire world is turned upside down when Seth turns around....and....it's not Seth. She doesn't recognize the man at the alter. In a panic she cancels the wedding, certain that the man at the alter isn't her fiance, however, her friends and family all assure her that Seth is her fiance. Why can't she remember him? Who is this fake Seth? Is her Seth okay? What is happening to her?

When I first started the book it grabbed me right away, the story did not waste any time and started making me question everything from chapter 1. The story is told from 3 points of view, Alice now, Alice then, and a point of view from someone mysterious who makes you wonder who they are. The Alice now point of view is written in normal font and the Alice then and mysterious point of view are both written in italics, at first this threw me off and was a slight struggle, but after a few chapters it didn't bother me at all. The story has multiple twists and really keeps you wondering the entire time if everything is as it seems. I did figure out two of the major twists, but it didn't take away from the story and I didn't figure out the over-all why twist until the very end. The book wasn't unnecessarily wordy, the characters were all detailed enough with decent back stories, and the questions were all tied up at the end.

I have loved every Shalini Boland book I have read, and when I saw this advanced read on Netgalley I was so excited to see a new book coming out from her. She delivers a twisty book that keeps you guessing and really gets you thinking about what is going on from the very first page. If you enjoy quick/fast paced reads that grab you and don't let go until the end, this is the book for you! While this book doesn't release until June, Shalini has some other absolutely fantastic books that you can read until this gripping read is available!!

Brilliant read. So twisty. I had no idea that would happen. Brilliant. 5*.

It’s 10th June, a lovely day and Alice Porter is about to marry the man of her dreams, Seth Evans. Oh but, wait, hang on a minute, what is going on? Who is that man standing at the top of the aisle as it sure ain’t Seth???? The story is told in the present day and backtracks to Alice telling her friends and colleagues about Seth’s proposal.

First of all, I do like the premise as it genuinely creates a real ball of confusion! Who to believe and not to believe and you were kept in the dark for quite a long time which is compelling. It’s an easy read, one you could take to the beach and be entertained but let’s just describe the plot as ……. creative. You most certainly have to strap on those disbelief suspenders!

However, whilst there is no doubt the plot keeps you reading on the quality of writing is a bit basic, it’s definitely not fast paced and there are few twists until you get to the end when several come at once. I can’t say the characters are especially likeable and whilst I don’t actively dislike Alice she’s definitely a doormat which is partly the point of the novel but it does get a bit wearing. The way it’s told switching from past and present also leads to some repetition.

Overall, if you are looking for a glide through, go with the flow novel then this may fit the bill!

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Amazon Publishing U.K. for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Another excellent psychological thriller by author Shalini Boland. Fast paced story that left me hanging on every word and turning the pages as fast as I could. Pulled me in right from the start and I just couldn’t put it down.

Alice is about to marry her fiancée Seth after a whirlwind relationship. Both Alice and Seth have good jobs and everything is looking rosy for the couple but when Alice walks up the aisle on her wedding day she looks across at her husband to be and doesn’t recognise him. The man across from her is a complete stranger.

Alice’s wedding day is a disaster and despite her family and friends tying to reassure her it is nerves or something else, she is convinced the stranger isn’t Seth. She wants to know where the man of her dreams is and why a stranger is in his place. Everyone else feels sure Alice is suffering from sort sort of attack and that everything will eventually get sorted. But Alice is desperate to solve the riddle and to find out what is happening, where is Seth.

If you have read any novels by this author you know what to expect, fast paced action with scintillating plots. Highly recommended.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I have LOVED every Shalini book I have read , this didn't work for me, I couldn't get into this one at all. The writing didn't flow and the characters didn't work, the story just seemed silly. I was super bummed as I was really looking forward to this one.

I can honestly say this book kept me guessing the ENTIRE way through. At one point, I thought ok we find out who the bad person is but I couldn't have been more wrong. When I got to the twist my jaw literally droppped. I will definetly be suggesting this to all of my book friends!

Another captivating story from one of my all time favourite authors.
It's fast paced and the twist in the end could be the start of another story.
What begins as a walk down the aisle for Alice's dream wedding turns out to be the start of a layered tale. Each character appears to have a vested interest at some point, but couldn't have guessed the ending.

What a cracker of a book! The silent bride is a nail-biting suspenseful mystery with great twists! Loved the plot, I thought I had it figured out, where this was going, but oh soooo wrong! The book was fast-paced & I couldn't stop turning the pages because the story of Alice Porter was so intriguing! The characters were great - no! Awesome! I didn't loooove the main character Alice, but she was a sensible girl & made the best of her situation. Everyone else was great too! I did fall in love with Alice's moms character! I thought she was the best human being in the book! knowing what I know now I feel kinda bad for some characters & what might've been but...oh well! This book wouldn't have been the same with those last two nail-biting chapters - a definite 5 star read. But, I can't help but feel a sense of 'unfinished business'.
Till I get my hands on Shalini Boland's next compelling book, I'll be thinking of this one! Sigh!
Thank you Netgalley, Thomas and Mercer & Shalini Boland for this arc!
