The best kind of funny.
Relatable, zany, and somehow both incredibly self-aggrandizing and self-deprecating... which is also super relatable.

Loved it! I have always been a fan of comics like this and this was just my jam. So relatable in a lot of the panels. I see myself and my life in her work so often.

This was such a fun read and so relatable and a millennial myself. I found myself laughing out loud at times and I found myself reading some of these out loud to my husband.

First off let me say how much I love the cute artwork throughout this book. I absolutely love the style and I think it goes great with the feel of the book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is funny and relatable in so many ways. There were several times I felt like this book was talking about me. It addresses everyday things people experience in their relationships, their own lives and even being a pet owner. This book will have you laughing but also make you feel a little better about those weird things you do because you’re not the only one.

I highly recommend for a good laugh and to make you feel a little better about yourself.

This book was fun. I don't think it is worth the $23 since it took me only a half hour to quickly get through, but it is still a fun read and if you're a Meg Adams fan, it's worth it. Still glad I read it!

Good fun and a solid choice for gifting. The humor here is consistent and self-deprecating but confident. It celebrates the body and the attitude as they are, not suggesting anyone needs to change. Mostly funny with some moments of gentle reflection.

I had been following Meg's art on Instagram and was excited to get to read this advanced copy of "Why are you like this?". Just like her posts on Instagram, these little anecdotes are funny and relatable, and feature Meg's individual drawing style. I liked the color scheme, it tied the whole book together nicely.

I enjoyed these comics very much. I follow the author on Instagram and loves the way these were curated. This book really did a great job of capturing the little things you experience in relationships. I recommend it!

I’ve seen the art of this artist in quite some places, and loved it every time. This was no different! I even laughed out loud in some occassions, which to me is the ultimate sign of loving comics like these!

I am familiar with the author/artist and have come across some of the panels on Instagram. They have been around a while. I like such collections and decided to give this one a chance.
My only issue with this collection is the art. Some of the panels had normal art, which was quite beautiful. The majority have very dramatized and exaggerated imagery, something I am not the biggest fan of. This is the only reason the book is not a full five stars for me. The actual conversations and humour in the book are great, and I liked almost all the panels. Given that the author can draw a different style of art, I wanted more of the 'normal' ones!
The collection focuses on individuals and their relationships, both at home and outside. Some of them are quite profound, but without fail, all of them are worth the perusal.
Although I do not follow the series on social media, I would definitely pick up another of these collections if I get the chance. I highly recommend this to fans of the genre.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

I had a hard time putting this book down. Each comic was hilarious, and I could certainly relate to some of them. This collection puts a humorous spin on being an adult, and how it isn’t always as easy as it looks. This might not be a collection for everyone, but some people will enjoy reading it.

It was fine, but it lacked any sort of reasoning to tie these comics together. I enjoy these comics when I see them online individually, but as a book, they don't make as much sense.

This comic collection is amazing! I shared so many of these scenes with my husband, saying, "Look! It's us!" So many couples can relate to this collection and will laugh hysterically at many of the scenes. Love, love, love!

I absolutely loved this book. It's very funny and relatable to any millenial homebody. I've been recommending left and right and still find myself laughing at some of the pages when I think of them. Loved it and hoping for more from Adams soon.

Book Summary:

Who doesn't love millennial humor? Why Are You Like This? Is a collection of comics about millennial life, including marriage, adulthood in general, self-love, self-care, pet ownership, etc. It's perfect if you need help looking at your life and finding something to laugh about!

But seriously, Why Are You Like This? Is a sweet and humorous comic about daily life and perspective.

My Review:

If you need a good laugh, may I recommend reading Why Are You Like This? The title alone does an excellent job of giving you an idea of what sort of humor you'll find within the pages.

Meg and Carson couldn't be more different. One is an introvert, the other an extrovert. You'd think that wouldn't work – but it does! This combination is also fairly common, so I feel like many readers will relate to the humorous situations this couple finds themselves in.

Obviously, my favorite arcs revolved around the pets and other chaotic humor. It's far too relatable, and I love it! The romantic moments were both sweet and funny, which is always appreciated. Read this if you need a smile.
