Unfortunately I was unable to download the book to give a more in-depth review due to the NetGalley app restrictions. Good luck with your book! Wishing you much success!
Why Are You Like This had me laughing out loud. That should be enough, but there’s more! This book literally has a situation for everyone, so I immediately recommended it to all of my friends, whether they like comic books or comedy or not. Anyone who reads this book will not regret it. Plus, the art adds so much to the situational comedy, they go hand in hand seamlessly. 5 stars and highly recommend!
A cute graphic novel showcasing funny and heartwarming moments throughout the year of a couple's lives. The art style is simple but eye-catching. For fans of Catana Chetwynd
I received a copy of the book by NetGalley but the opinions in this review are my own.
Each page is a tidbit of life. Meg draws about her life with husband Carson and their dogs. I appreciated that she advocates for body positivity, embraces being herself, and emphasizes on selfcare. Quite an enjoyable read.
This is a fast and fun read for me. We get to see different scenarios and situation where some might ask "why are you like this?" to the author/illustrator, her husband, and her dogs. The illustrations and colors are vibrant and eye-catching which makes you continue flipping the page until you're finished reading.
3.5 stars. I think fans of Meg's online work will absolutely love this short collection of comics. I chuckled a couple of times and found some of the panels relatable, but I didn't always get them or the style. Kudos for the body positivity and the positive spousal relationship. And doggos!
I had a chance to be an ARC reader for this comic and it seriously made my day better after a long shift in front of my laptop for uni assignments.
Personally, I think that this graphic novel/comic reflects very well how day to day life can be without making it too serious.
Thanks again to Netgalley and Meg Adams for letting me read it. It was wonderful.

I've been following Artbymoga for awhile, and when I got the chance to read an e-ARC of her comics I was thrilled. Why Are You Like This? is a fun, funny, relatable, and heartfelt collection of some of Meg Adams's best comics. It follows a year chronologically and it really works that way, shifting through different bits of situational humour by the seasons and holidays. Regular readers of Artbymoga will recognise many of the comics featured here, but it's still worth the read. It offers up some of her best work, combined to create solid context. I found myself laughing out loud at many of them, even ones I've seen or even shared on social media. The mental illness related ones are also very touching and relatable. It was a great way to go through her comics and revisit favourites in the broader context of going through a full year. I would definitely recommend it, especially to fans of the webcomic.
It's always a treat when your favorite artists on Instagram publish a full-length book. I have been following @artbymoga for a while, and her posts never fail to make me smile. The art style is colorful and charming. Her love for her partner, her dogs, and all things cozy is evident in her comics. They capture the everyday joys of life, highlighting the most whimsical and carefree moments. So many of the scenarios are highly relatable and bring a smile to my face.
I follow Meg Adams on Instagram and love her comics. When I saw this book available, I jumped at the chance to read it. “Why Are You Like This” is full of comics that hit close to home and are just plain fun. Her art is adorable and shows glimpse of everyday life that you can completely identify with. I will definitely be buying one of these for a friend!
I want to thank NetGalley, Meg Adams and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.
Oh how full my millennial heart is! Why Are You Like This is funny, light-hearted, and incredibly relatable. I usually gravitate towards serious books (for instance, my current audiobook is a historical fiction set during the Holocaust), so this hilarious comic collection was just what I needed to manage my emotions.
I found myself laughing throughout the book, as I took in the incredible illustrations and light-hearted jokes within the book. I also found myself thinking "so true!" In multiple parts of the book. The humor and illustrations reminded me a lot of the comics by Catana Chetwynd.
Meg Adams did a great job with giving readers the needed escape from reality.
I received this and as an eARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for giving me access.
Whether you are an introvert like Carson or an extrovert like Meg, this comic was funny and relatable. Meg does a hilarious job at capturing opposites in their prime on paper.
I love the art style as it is simple yet pleasing to the eye as comics like these should be.
Definitely give this one a go if you need a good giggle.
Naturally, this is the best thing I've read and seen in a while. I've followed her art for YEARS on Facebook and have always enjoyed her starkness and honesty. Her ability to say so much in just a four-paneled comic or less. The art style is cutesy but can be completely taken seriously in some of her more important works. I've always loved it and will continue to do so. I can't wait to buy a physical copy of this to keep!
This book was so adorable and funny. There were some relatable moments in here. The illustrations were great as well. I loved the dogs in it. I'd definitely recommend this book.
This is the warm autumn collection you grab when you are in need of a friend and a good laugh. Lovely and relatable. I will totally recommend it.
Loved these sweet slice of life comics from Meg Adams!
I had not read her comics before, but they were authentic, warm, and sweet.
I enjoyed reading this collection of comics. I am a fan of Meg Adams and have been following her work for a while. Some comics were funny, others were deep and could make you think about your life. I must say, though, that I wasn't a fan of every single page (I don't think I got all the jokes).
Me gusta lo rápido que se lee, la artista tiene esto de recrear pequeñas escenas rutinarias y representarlas de manera satírica para que nos sintamos representados
This is great for people who repost memes on Facebook about loving early Halloween decorations and hating Christmas music by the end of December. There’s nothing wrong about this, but I just am not the target audience. I also feel like the sincere comic panels about self-care and therapy just felt out of place to me.
A cute compilation of everyday anecdotes of Meg, her boyfriend, and their two dogs. Very relatable and funny moments that my partner and I could 100% relate to! I really enjoyed it. A quick read that I definitely recommend!
