A bakery that sells chocolate that makes you find your true love but only on Valentine’s Day?! Nora’s friend Lena found her true love the year Prie and is now engaged!! She made a post about how she found true love on Valentine’s Day after eating one of Hoe Sweet It Is Chocolate shopps’s magic Cupid chocolates. While Lucy battles the opening of a rival bakery, lots of press and keeping her shop open wil she find love too?
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!

I wanted a valentines book to read and decided to try this one. I loved it. I was not surprised to see it is a hallmark movie. It reads like you are watching it on screen. Delightful, fun, predictable but still unique.

I loved this storyline so much that I couldn't put it down. It kind of reminded me of one of my favorite V-Day movies (Valentines Day, 2010) because the movie has a reporter who's a bit skeptic about love just like the reporter in this book. Additionally, I could almost taste the chocolate. The plot was intriguing with a skeptic reporter going after a chocolatier because he thinks her shop's concept is a scam up until his job is on the line, but the damage is already done because now, she doesn't trust him. It was great from start to finish. You will definitely find "Aww!"-worthy moments.

A very "sweet" story about finding love, magic, and taking risks at Valentine's Day! An amazingly written story, performed by two wonderful narrators who brought this book and the characters to life!

Finally! FINALLY I was approved for an audiobook by NetGalley! You guys, I can DEVOUR like, 10 audiobooks in the time it takes me to read an ebook or print book. Come on NetGalley, give this girl more Audiobooks!

Okay. Enough of that. Onto the book!

Sweeter Than Chocolate is a Hallmark book, and TBH, that scared me. I thought, "Oh boy, this is going to be so unbelievably cheesy, what if I can't read more than a page without rolling my eyes?"

Well, fellow readers, I'm happy to announce that I was so off base! This book was absolutely adorable and not at all overly cheesy.

Lucy is a woman with a good head on her shoulders. Her family has a legend about the Cupid Chocolates they make in their chocolate shop: if you eat a Cupid Chocolate you will find your true love. And the magic is strongest on Valentine's Day. Lucy isn't quite sure if she buys into the magic of the Cupid Chocolates, but she's open to the possibilities of her chocolates bringing true love to her patrons.

Meanwhile, Dean is a TV news journalist sent to film a puff piece about Lucy's Cupid Chocolates when they go viral on social media, but what he'd really love to do is create an expose about the fraud Lucy is perpetuating. Chocolates that make you fall in love? What a joke! Unfortunately for Dean, to salvage his career, he has to stick to the puff piece to show his softer side.

After a rocky start, Lucy and Dean soon become allies. But when everything starts to fall apart for Lucy, she starts to believe that the curse also associated with the magic love chocolates, is at work.

This was an adorable slow burn romance. Learning about both Lucy and Dean was so interesting. Dean especially had interesting character growth. But watching Lucy learn to let go and accept the success of the chocolates was heartwarming.

I definitely recommend this adorable contemporary romance to anyone... and not just around Valentine's Day!

I loved this audiobook, if you need a rom com to get you into the Valentine's Day spirit, this one was definitely it.

It was full of the cheesy and amazing romance moments, I loved the "chocolates" and the chocolate shop in this book.

To give a little synopsis, the FMC owns a chocolate shop and the MMC is a news anchor person who investigates frauds. He's supposed to give a puff piece of the chocolate shop because they claim to have a chocolate that lets you find true love.

It was such a cute and quick read for anyone needing some love during the Valentine's Day madness.

Well, I was today years old when I learned that Hallmark had a publishing company and that you could have the Hallmark Channel experience in a book, best news ever! I loved Sweeter Than Chocolate! It was the perfect escape when I was nursing post medical procedure pain and discomfort. It was like comfort food in a book, as all Hallmark stories are. Lizzie Shane gave me characters I could root for and delight in their love story unfolding. I loved watching them learn to believe in love and find their own HEA! It was narrated by audiobook pros Brittany Pressley and Andrew Eiden. I have listened to many books by both of them and they always do a great job. I'm not gonna lie, after my first book or 2 narrated by Andrew Eiden, I went looking for more to keep listening to his voice... Give yourself a treat and indulge in this sweet romance!

*I recieved this audio book as an ARC!*

I absolutely loved this book! It is a perfect read around Valentines Day, was exactly what I was looking for!!

The relationship between the two main characters was a perfect mix of grumpy/sunshine but in a way they were also super similar in their outlooks on love. It was a very realistic story of how they got together in the end, rather than a love at first site take.

All of the characters were great! I especially loved Nana and Georgie!

I definitely pulled out some great quotes to add to my reading journal!!

Such a good read and I will definitely recommend to others!

3.5! This was a super sweet story for Valentine’s Day! We have our FMC who runs her family chocolate shop, it has been in her family for years and she will do anything to keep her going. She also bakes the chocolates her self, but her Cupid chocolates have always been the big seller when it comes to Valentine’s Day as the legend goes if you eat one on February 14 you will find your true love. She is sceptical of this story always reminding her grandmother who loves to tell the story that it is not a guarantee thing but just a silly legend. But when her best friends who eats a chocolate and gets engaged tells her story on line the shop gets so much business with everyone hoping to find true love. This gets the attention of the local news and they send Dean down to do a story on it. Dean is use to doing stories about con artist and people who fraud others and has always been Leary of love after watching his parents fail over the years. But as he meets our FMC and hears all the stories from all the people who have ate the chocolates and found true love he starts to think differently but mostly it’s our FMC who has him thinking things about love he never thought before, and she is thinking them to but knows how he feels and doesn’t try to change his opinion. But as February 14 gets closer will they let their guard down and finally give in to the love they both deserve!

I adored this book! If you want a feel good romance look no further.

This story is told in dual POV with both a male and female narrator. Both narrators fit their perspective characters and did a good job telling the story.

This story was the perfect amount of sweet romance without being cheesy. I've been to Belgium and I especially enjoyed when it was mentioned. Belgian chocolate is delicious! The characters were lovable and I couldn't help but cheer for the main characters.

This is the perfect book for Valentine's Day! Or any day you need a good romance.

Dreamscape Media, Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

I listened to the entire book in ONE day (plus simultaneously reading it)! This story is perfect for the month of February completely wrapped around Valentine’s Day, chocolate hearts, cupids & love. Heartwarming, feel good, descriptions so detailed about chocolate that the listener and/or reader can smell & taste the goodness. Descriptions of love & magic so powerful the listener and/or reader will fall in love with love & magic. Lizzie Shane always manages to delight with her stories of love & hope. I simply smiled in the end because it is absolutely perfect. Maybe chocolate cupids do bring love, maybe they don’t but after listening (and reading!) I am absolutely willing to believe in the magic.

This book was magical. I absolutely loved Lucy as her cute chocolate shop that was passed down to her. I loved Lucy's relationship with her family and friends, especially her grandma. At first, I wasn't the biggest fan of dean however I definitely warmed to him as he became more the rude news broadcaster. This story was cute and sweet without being overbearing or cheesy. I loved lucy and dean as a couple and their sweet romance. This book was the perfect read for valentines day and now I just want to go watch the hallmark movie.

Grumpy sunshine, small town, misunderstanding each others feelings. This book has everything you want in a hallmark Christmas movie, but for Valentine’s Day. It turns out it feels like this because it is this and the movie was just released by the hallmark channel. I have no watched it, but I would like to. The book is always better though.

Lucy’s friends and family make up a cozy background cast that will have you looking up the shop to see if you can visit.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a light fun read that I couldn’t put down. Make sure you have some chocolate nearby when you read this book.

Sweeter Than Chocolate
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Romance
Format: Audiobook
Date Published: 1/17/23
Author: Lizzie Shane
GR: 4.05

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

My Thoughts: Lucy’s chocolate shop has been in the family for generations. Lucy could not be happier being a chocolatier. Her shop is famous for the Cupid chocolate, the rumor is if you eat it on Valentine’s Day, you will find true love. Lucy isn’t convinced if it is actually magic or coincidence, but she makes the chocolates because it makes her happy. Dean is a reporter and his editor is making him do a human interest piece on the Cupid chocolate and he does not believe in love.

The story is narrated by Lucy and Dean, in third person POV. I love it when you get both sides of the picture. Lucy is fiercely independent, caring, and focused. Dean is a skeptic on love, would do anything for his sister, and career focused. The characters were developed well with depth, witty banter, chemistry, and creatively built around the Cupid chocolate. The author’s writing style was complex, swoony, funny, and engaging. The MCs are both likable and relatable. The supporting characters were also wonderful, I really enjoyed Lucy’s grandmother and Dean’s sister.

The narration was amazing, the narrators pull you into the story and you feel like your watching a movie. This was a cute, fun, sweet read that I really enjoyed. While reading this book, I had pictured a Hallmark actress as Lucy and I was right on the money as Hallmark just released the book in a movie featuring the actress. I would recommend reading the book first, then seeing the movie. I have not had a chance to watch the movie yet, but plan on it.

Sweeter Than Chocolate by Lizzie Shane is absolutely SWEET! (fyi no spice, it is Hallmark after all!). This romance is lighthearted and an easy read/listen for Valentine's Day... or any day you're looking to remind yourself of the magic and hope in new love. The characters were easy to love, their eventual romance was an adorable, fun story line. Dual POV and narration was fantastic. I'd love to see this as a romcom movie!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media, Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley for this ALC!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this amazing book. Although I do not watch many Hallmark movies, this book really drew me in and had me invested until the very end. If you are looking for a sweet Valentine's Day dislike to love romance, then this is the book for you. It is so lighthearted and so sweet. And it was very easy to read and was very relaxing to listen to. I absolutely loved it, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lighthearted romance for this Valentine's Day season.

Sweeter Than Chocolate was a sweet rom com that felt especially appropriate before Valentine's Day. I listened to the audio version and thought the narrators did a great job. I thought Lucy was a lovable character overall and appreciated the change in Dean's priorities over the course of the story.

This was a pretty straight-forward story with a few little twists but nothing that made me say, "Oh my!" or left me surprised in any way. If you're looking for a light-hearted romance that celebrates chocolate in all its awesomeness, this one's for you!

Would be a great beach read. Now I just need a beach ...

This book is very Hallmark like. Honestly, even more G rated than a typical Hallmark story. Zero spice.

What I liked...
-Lucy was very likeable
-Dean is adorable
-the idea of "magic chocolates" is perfect for this time of year
-very easy to listen to, the narration was great (listened on 1.5)
-love the dual points of view

What didn't do it for me....
-not much action
-waiting 40+ chapters before the connection deepens between the two characters
-the amount of time the word chocolate was mentioned or used as a comparison made me roll my eyes
-just a meh story line

I just reviewed Sweeter Than Chocolate by Lizzie Shane. #SweeterThanChocolate #NetGalley
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
