I love getting these upcoming book samples but it adds so many new books to my TBR!! So many good ones coming out!
This is such a useful resource especially for those who wish to pre order the most anticipated book. It's also extremely useful resource for book reviewers to read. So you know which books to request. Many thanks to the publishers for producing this fantastic book.
"Buzz Books 2023: Spring/Summer" by Publishers Lunch is an essential snapshot of the forthcoming literary season, offering readers a sneak peek into some of the most anticipated releases. This compilation excels in its variety, featuring excerpts from soon-to-be-published works across multiple genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and young adult. The selection is thoughtfully curated, highlighting both debut authors and established writers, which provides a balanced glimpse of the current literary landscape.
The excerpts are generous in length, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the style and tone of each upcoming book. This builds anticipation and helps make informed decisions about what books to add to one's reading list. Additionally, including some critical insights and brief author biographies enriches the context for each excerpt, adding depth to the reader's experience.
While "Buzz Books 2023: Spring/Summer" is incredibly informative and entertaining, its main limitation is that it only provides excerpts, which can be frustrating if one finds themselves deeply engrossed in a preview. The nature of the book means it lacks the satisfaction of a complete narrative, leaving readers eager for more.
Overall, "Buzz Books 2023: Spring/Summer" earns a solid review for its comprehensive coverage and engaging selection. It's a perfect tool for readers looking to update their to-read lists with upcoming titles, though the inherent teasers may leave some wishing for quicker release dates of the featured books.
Buzz Books is my go to resource for books I know I'm going to want to read, and authors to pay attention to, the 2023 Edition featured authors who were "don't miss" for me included Abraham Verghese's fabulous The Color of Water, my favorite book of 2023. When I read the Buzz Books list, i feel like and insider! I'm not through the books for 2024, yet, but will get there!
Very useful snippets of the books that is in the pipeline. A warning though - your TBR will grow after reading this!
As always, a very helpful sampler of upcoming titles; as an industry worker, this type of sampler is something I always find valuable!
I like reading about upcoming releases and hyping them up. This isn't a book I can hand sell, but enjoy researching mew titles to recommend.
This is a great collection of 55 upcoming books for Spring and Summer 2023. The categories covering this time are Fiction, Nonfiction, Young Adult.
Thanks to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for a preview copy.
Another solid sample of books/excerpts from Publishers Lunch of new books coming out in 2023. I really love these sample collections because it saves me a lot of time and money from reading some books. There are some books I was super excited to read an excerpt of as they were books I was hoping to read in 2023. There are some sample of books that surprised me and some that disappointed me. I recommend this sample collection to avid readers, like me, who want to preview all the books they've heard about without having to buy them.
I got this book because it had a preview of "Throwback" by Maureene Goo. I loved it! I ended up buying the book, reading it, reviewing it, and meeting her twice at two book festivals...Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and YallWest, both in 2023. I also preordered the audiobook of it and got a cool necklace with my birth year on it. LOVED it!
Buzz Books is one of my all-time favorites each season because you get to see what is coming out and get a snippet of selected books to read before buying. I have discovered so many new books coming out and books that I didn't know which was a good reminder.
It's a great way to also discover a new author.
The selection is always great and I love that you can pick up this anytime to read a few chapters.
As always I appreciate these looks at new books coming out. I never can get all the way through it, but I love finding new authors to try out.
Thanks to NetGalley for this great resource!
