How is this my first BUZZ and I missed the 21 Samplers that came before it? This publication is exciting and overwhelming in all the right ways. There are SO many upcoming titles captured in one place, plus bonus content for specially selected 55 titles:

* Buzz Books is extremely well formatted, and it organizes the 55 excerpts into four main categories - Fiction, Debut Authors, Non-Fiction, and Young Adult
* You can click-through to a specific excerpt directly from the Contents page if you get excited right from the beginning and can't wait to page through the other stories.
* The excerpts begin with a color shot of the cover. Each excerpt includes a blurb about the author and publication details at the end.
* There's a super convenient link at the end of each excerpt that allows you to request the full Galley from the publisher & NetGalley.
* Buzz Books gives you a substantial chunk55 from each book to sink your teeth into and really get a feel for the work.

Works I’m excited to read more about:
- How To Love Your Daughter, by Hila Blum
- Throwback, by Maurene Goo
- The Librarianist, by Patrick Dewitt
- Witness, by Jamel Brinkley

Buzz Books is easy to navigate, provides a lot of great content, and gives a fantastic peek into what's to come.

Buzz Books 2023: Spring/Summer by Publishers Lunch

An insider’s look at 55 of the buzziest books due out this season.

I love these samplers. I especially like Buzz Books since it covers so many genres. As my TBR grows and grows, it is great to have a sample of so many different books to help me plan my next read. I will definitely be picking up a few of these to read the full book when released.

Thank you to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for a free copy of Buzz Books 2023: Spring/Summer for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own. #NetGalley

I loved this collection of notable books coming out in 2023. The excerpts got me excited about many titles that would be hitting bookstore and library shelves.

This would be a great resource for librarians, book sellers, and book aficionados.

Another great sampler to get you excited about upcoming releases. The selections are always nice and give you a good taste of the book. Takes a bit of time to get thru all of them, but worth it to add books you'll actually enjoy to the TBR!

Throwback is especially interesting to me because I enjoy the 90s setting.

How I love to discover Buzz Books collections!! This one did not dissapoint! The 2023 Spring/Summer releases I most look forward to read are:
1. Throwback (love the 90s setting, and the mother-daughter difficult relationship)
2. Mobility (story of a young diplobrat whose parents are deployed overseas as FS diplomats. How can I not love this as I work for the Foreign Service as an FSN)
3. Prophet (loooove the writing, so badass)
4. The Great Reclamation (curious to discover this story set in 1940s Singapore.. what is this island?)
5. The House of Lincoln (wanting to read about Abraham Lincoln's eary days)
6. Terrace Story
7. The Dof of the North (sounds like fun)
8. The Homecoming (I mean, of course!)
9. A Shadow In Moscow (this book got me at "Soviet spy")
10. Kunstlers in Paradise (an Austria family emigrating to whimsical Los Angeles, CA on the eve of WWII)

I loved every single debut novel, and I added them all to my TBR. Last but not least, in the non-fiction section, I look forward to read The Rediscovery of America, King: A Life, and The Book of Charlie.

Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for sharing excerpts of those exciting new novels.

Excellent for keeping yourself abreast of all the new releases for the year. I am looking forward to the Fall/Winter edition (although I can’t say my TBR feels the same way).

This is such an excellent way to find your next read and the format and ability to request directly through Netgalley for the ARC’s is awesome! Looking forward to continuing to do this!

I love these Buzz Books for the opportunity to preview many books before requesting them. The ones I am most excited about from this issue are The House of Lincoln by Nancy Horan and Go As a River by Shelley Read. I went on to read the full version of Go As a River, which turned out to be a great book!

I admit I requested to read "Buzz Book 2023: Spring/Summer" solely so I could read an excerpt from "Homecoming" by Kate Morton, one of my all time favorite authors. However, after reading the excepts and summaries of many of this season's hottest books, my To-Be-Read List is now a whole lot longer!

In addition to "Homecoming," which looks to be every bit as wonderful as I hoped it would be, I am also looking forward to several other upcoming fiction titles, especially "Family Lore" by Elizabeth Acevedo (her young adult novel "With the Fire on High" was a five star read for me), "Birnam Wood" by Eleanor Catton (a psychological thriller by a Booker Prize winning author-YES PLESAE!), and "The Covenant of Water" by Abraham Verghese (I can't pass up a multigenerational saga that takes place in India).

There is also a multitude of promising looking debuts set to release this Spring and Summer! I am particularly excited to read the Southern Gothic novel "House of Cotton" by Monica Brashears, which has a gorgeous cover. "The Woman in the Castello" by Kelsey James and "Sisters of the Lost Nation" by Nick Medina have also been added to my list of Spring/Summer required reading.

Finally, though I am not a great reader of either nonfiction or YA, nonfiction offerings from Ned Blackhawk ("The Rediscovery of America") and Safiya Sinclair ("How to Say Babylon" and the YA novel from Tehlor Kay Mejia ("Lucha of the Night Forest") look intriguing enough to get me to branch out from my usual reading comfort zone and read something new.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Buzz Books for the opportunity to read about all of those wonderful upcoming reads!

This is the second time I've obtained a Buzz Books from NetGalley. They require quite a time commitment but it is a lot of fun to read a first chapter or an excerpt from an upcoming book. I was especially interested in the selections by Eleanor Catton and Kate Morton and they did not disappoint.

I completed all of the excerpts except for two and I did try. But two out of 55 is not bad at all.

The excerpts were long enough to give a good flavor of the book and to leave you wanting to know the rest.

This has gotten me so excited about upcoming books. The book begins with a publishing preview, but is then broken into: Fiction, Debut, Nonfiction, and Young Adult. Every except I read made me want to read more of the books. Most of my TBR list is from the books in this collection that caught my attention.

As always a great selection of new titles to dip into. Thanks for the option to read these review chapters - I'm still working through them and enjoying the varied selection..

The best list to find new reads for the season. I read this every time it releases!
I also love how there is a synopsis and the first chapter available in each iteration of Buzz Books.
