I wish I had read book one because this story was on FIRE!! It was so good. I have to give this one four stars however due to the fact that Killian just kind of felt like a secondary character in his own story. Would have loved to see some character development from him. But him as Niccoli's main man he was great. He is everything a woman hopes to find in a partner. Just wish the constant up and down of the book had a bit better rhythm.

After getting through all the world and mermaid lore building in the prequel to this book, I was hoping Niccoli would jump straight into the nitty gritty and give us more action, more drama, more spicy sex scenes, and more mermaid lore in this sequel & she did not disappoint!

It was a whirlwind of fantastic ass writing and I was hooked, lined, and sinked into every single page! I really appreciated the attention to detail that Niccoli gave us as she wove a storyline of rich mermaid history and loved the depth of growth that she gave to both Lorelei and her supporting characters.

It was absolutely beautiful that Lorelei was able to learn about the history of her mermaid kin while also going through a journey of self discovery.

If you’re on the fence about reading this book after getting through the prequel, take this as a sign to READ THIS BOOK!!! I’d give it 10 stars if I could!

The tone of this book felt different but in a way that felt very right with the way the story was going. It was less about discovery and more about building and growing. Watching these characters continue to develop in this world was amazing. Even Awful Carrie got her chance.

I also loved all the new characters and world building that was introduced. Nireed was amazing and so strong and building on the Siren world and lore made my heart happy. I also absolutely loved the science and technical talk. You can really tell that Niccoli put a lot of thought and research into biology of her creatures of the deep.

Also can we talk about how much more spice was in this one. *swoons*

I haven't read the first book, but able to follow this book just fine. It was fast paced urban fantasy and I enjoyed reading it! Love the world building and the general idea of the book. Lorelei was a strong lead, and I'm excited to read more book of this series.

It's been a year since the events of book one and Lorelei and Killian are up to their necks in more problems. After getting a Siren to willingly submit to testing in the hopes of curing the virus afflicting them all, Lorelei now has to deal with the fallout from keeping her kin captive. Lorelei and Killian are just trying to stay afloat while the modern world tries adapting to myth made real.

I thought book one was amazing but book two completely exceeded my expectations! So many interweaving plot points that feed into eachother and character development. Killian and Lorelei learn and grow together, the insane ex is back for more, and friend's loyalties are tested. The two-leggers also get a more up close and personal look into Siren life and it is so magical, and badass. This duet gives good atmosphere and Song Of Lorelei especially brought the vibes. Cozy, sensual, chilling, and intense. It has the right amount of horror yet is full of heart. And the chemistry between Killian and Lorelei is undeniable.

Killian is still that wonderful mix of intensely caring and darkly sexual. He's our monster fucker king and he loves all the monstrous parts of Lorelei. He's definitely developing a scary hot chick kink and loves when Lorelei really lets loose. The spice level was pumped way up in this book. Sexy texts, rough sex, and siren singing. The thoughts in Killian's head are 🫠. There's even a more in depth shifted sex scene in this book and holy hell was it hot! Killian wanted Lorelei to take the reins for once and she didn't disappoint!

I loved this book! The authors writing style was beautiful. The romantic scenes were my favorite! And I even loved all the adventures the main character went on! It was refreshing to read! It was difficult to put this book down. I was up half the night reading it! I thought it was a great sequel to the second book, and Killian was my favorite! I look forward to reading book 3!
