Marni Mann does not write a bad book. Anytime you need a billionaire romance, pick one up! The Intern did not disappoint. This enemies to lovers romance between a lawyer and his intern brought the spice, told in dual POV, which I love!

H-O-T! This series is absolutely HOT! Hannah is one of the Daltons and she is applying for an internship and meets Declan Shaw but their first meeting they lose their minds and their clothes. When she turns up at work the chemistry just ratchets up even more. The banter and smoking story line keeps this one going.

Holy hotness batman.....The Intern was everything that I want in a spicy read. I think this one could easily be read as a stand alone as I haven't read all of the other books in the Dalton brothers series, but didn't feel like I was missing out on anything storywise. Marni truly excels at creating stories that are packed with steamy moments, witty dialogue, and a solid plot!

Despite there being an age-gap (it's not my favorite trope) I still absolutely adored Hannah and Declan in this book. Their chemistry was off the charts, and the dirty talk from Declan was enough to make this girl blush. The narrators Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels nailed their performance on the audiobook.

4 stars

Thanks to @dreamscapemedia for the ALC of The Intern. All opinions are my own.

I loved this book so much! The narrators were great and not robotic. The story really kept me intrigued and the female main character was really relatable. I always enjoy a good office romance and this one hit. I will definitely read more of this authors work.

If you've read Marni Mann you know this one is going to be SPICY and it delivered. I haven't read the first three in the Dalton brothers series but this one has me wanting to go back and check out their stories (especially Nash - Single Dad). In The Intern we have Declan and Hannah. Declan is the best litigator in the state and after speaking to Hannah's college class he invites her (and other top students) for some drinks. For a man who doesn't do relationships or anything with real emotions there is something that automatically attracts him to Hannah. She makes him break his cardinal rule (no kisses on the mouth) from the jump. But then he disappears and leaves Hannah angry and jealous.
Fast forward to the first day of Hannah's internship. Imagine both of their surprises when they happen to be paired together. Declan wants out, Hannah just wants to learn from the best so she decides to lie about remembering that night and what happened.
I enjoyed the steam of this one, the miscommunication is a piece that always drives me nuts, but in this book it wasn't so great that it made me crazy but it did draw it out (as a book needs) and by the end I was ready for that tension to be broken and the truths to be revealed. That part also left me a bit underwhelmed in how it played out, but again I feel like the steam is the draw not necessarily the minutiae of the plot :)

The steam in this one is off the charts!! Declan Shaw is the typical Alpha asshole lawyer but mentoring the bright & beautiful Madison Dalton, his intern & his best friends cousin (very close fam) totally threw him off his game until he finally let himself fall in love. The right woman always has that effect on the biggest a-holes!!

Spicy! Perfect for Kindle Unlimited fans. I will sell this to anyone looking for a romance novel and will look into Marni Mann as an author in the future.

For the most part I really enjoyed The Intern. I really didn't like how much of a doormat the MC was, she put up with so much that I felt was completely unnecessary. I wanted to like Declan but he was mostly just a jerk. It was so hard to root for them when I was rooting for Hannah to get a backbone and stand up for herself. He spoke so negatively about her and never apologized to Hannah, which I feel he absolutely should have. I didn't feel their connection or feelings for each other.
The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. Definitely recommend the audiobook

Hannah and Declan are couples goals! Their chemistry lights the pages on fire and their love story is sweet and romantic. Perfect read for the upcoming Valentine holiday!

The narrators nailed these characters perfectly!

The Intern (The Dalton Family #4) was a great read by Marni Mann. Everyone in the legal world knows Hannah Dalton's last name. Declan Shaw the hottest, most ruthless litigator in the state comes to mentor her class in a mock trial, she decides to not reveal her last name. They all go out to celebrate after class and it ends up with Hannah and Declan in the alley behind the bar. After their night together he ghosts her. A few weeks later when she walks into her family's law firm, The Dalton Group, she starts her new internship. Her new boss just so happens to be the man she despises, Declan Shaw. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Your typical Marni Mann book. I did enjoy the intern/boss, just as spicy as all their other books. Quick read but nothing special that I remember in particular.

Loved this book all around. I read it when it first came out but the audiobook was a breeze to listen to and get work done at the same time.

There was nothing wrong with this book, just nothing stood out to me. If you love boss/employee romances with alpha heroes you should definitely give it a try. Hannah is a smart and ambitious heroine who holds her own with the hero, definitely not the innocent assistant type that is typical of the trope.

Narration: Love the narration and felt the casting was very age appropriate to the characters.

Thanks to Dreamscape and NetGalley for my copy to review.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

Thank you, Dreamscape Media, for the opportunity to listen to this story via NetGalley, but *sigh* I’m back in the land of ”but why, though?” with this series.

First, let’s talk a bit about Declan. Was he supposed to be someone I liked even a little bit? He has less than zero redeeming qualities and that’s probably one more than he really has. Feel me? He was disrespectful at every opportunity with anyone and everyone. He had an ego on him that did match his actions. It was so full of self-importance that it bordered on ridiculous. Actually, it didn’t border at all, it crossed over that border and set up shop. His character made it almost impossible to listen to this story until the end. I can’t think of a nice to say about him so I’m moving on LOL

Now, let’s talk about Hannah. She had her moments, but overall, she was a doormat who took way more from Declan than any human deserved. I couldn’t connect with her at all because I didn’t understand her or her motivations. On her own, she comes across as a grown woman but the minute that there’s any plot-point where Declan is involved, all her self-assurance floats out the window.

UGH, if I don’t stop, this is going to become ranty and no one needs that. I’ve learned to accept that Marni Mann writes sexually driven stories where the romance journey between the couple takes a backseat to the sexual journey between the couple. I’m okay with that. Do I prefer it the other way around? YES (lol), but they aren’t my stories to tell. However, the reason this story is only getting 1 star from me is because I couldn’t connect at all with any of it. I rooted for no one, and the actual storyline was pretty meh.

I’m invested in this family / group of friends, so I am going to continue to experience their stories because outside of each specific book, there’s a family dynamic to this series that I really enjoy, and I want to continue to keep up with *shrug*

I listened to this story rather than read it so I should give some credit to the narrators. I love Savannah Peachwood’s voice and style, and she did a great job narrating her parts of this story. Lee Samuel is not one of my top favorite male narrators, but he also did a good job narrating his portion of the story, so overall narration rating: 4 star!

Declan Shaw is all power. He is the best litigator at his firm and the Daltons has spent forever trying to poach their friend and bring him on board, which they finally do. But part of being at their firm is taking on an Intern, something he’s not thrilled to do… especially when I’m walks in Hannah Dalton.

Hannah and Declan met and had a wild encounter than left with wrong impressions and lead to a lot of animosity and confusion starting off their Internship together. But the fire between these two is so fierce and not something either of them is able to deny for long.

As with any Marni Mann book I was just so captured by these two and their story. They are so raw and emotional but also hot hot HOT! The banter between these two is excellent and when they finally give in and fall there is no doubt it is endgame.

The narrator of this audio was really great. The plot was spicy and hot and I enjoyed the character romance. I am very excited to see if a sequel will be developed.

Everyone knows my last name Shawn.. When Declan Shaw—the most ruthless litigator comes in to mentor my class’s mock trial, I decide not to reveal personal information. I want a one-on-one with him like I’m any other law student, especially when we go out to celebrate after class. But the one-on-one ends with us stripping off our clothes. With me screaming his name. It’s desperate-to-have downright filthy sex. And then, he disappears. But when I walk into The Dalton Group—my family’s law firm—where I’m starting my internship, my new boss is waiting for me. And it's the man I hate—the man I still fantasies... Declan Shaw.

I loved this audiobook. I felt like the narrators really immersed me in the story and the chemistry of the characters. I wish there had been a little more relationship development, but overall this book was fun and hot.

I absolutely adored this story and can't wait for more! The narration was excellent and the spice was...I have no words for it!

Declan and Hannah hook up in a bar then Declan ghosts her. However, Declan soon finds out that his new intern is Hannah, and she's a relative of his business partners. Driven law student Hannah is determined to show she has earned her position in the family firm. Hannah's new boss is the man she despises, but he stars in her fantasies.

What a great office romance! I literally couldn't stop listening. This fast-paced read is filled with tension and steam. Plus, arrogant Declan is a dirty talker!

This enemies-to-lovers story is filled with top-notch banter. Hannah isn't meek, and she speaks her mind. Even though Declan often acts like a jerk as he fights his feelings for Hannah, I loved how he respected Hannah's intelligence and ambition. And grumpy Declan melts for Hannah!

Pick up The Intern if you are in the mood for a spicy, enemies-to-lovers romance.
