Though I found this book a bit predictable it was a quick and easy read. I started off very good, the middle dragged a bit with wondering how to catch the bad guys. That is until the main character, Lenora, decided to do some dumbass stuff (yes I was actually talking to her out loud haha) that lead to a fun action packed ending.
This was very predictable from the start. None of the characters were likeable at all, and came across as very childish. It was written in a way that seemed to be a teenager writing their debut, or someone who clearly had never read a thriller before. Sad to say, this was not for me.
Absolutely amazing read! Such a captivating read! Amazing cover art that was super eye catching would definitely recommend to all!
*Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review*
A great thriller - I would recommend it!

This is a new author for me and they did a good job of pulling me in and keeping my attention. The book was full of twists and turns and overall a great read. I did find that it was pretty predictable but it was an easy read and easy to follow along.
THIS THRILLER WAS SO GOOD. Sorry for the all caps, but also, not sorry. I had to holler my thoughts on that. While I did predict the ending, the twists in this were **chef's kiss**. I need more of Theo Baxter's books in my life, hopefully soon! I enjoyed this so much. Solid 4.5 stars
This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it! I am giving this book three stars, as I don't want to give it a good or bad rating, since I did not get to it.
Some secrets are worth dying for. This one is worth killing for.
Married couple Leona and Wade Woodrow are celebrating their anniversary with a hike on the Appalachian Trail when Wade slips and falls off a cliff. A search party turns up his bloodied clothing, but not his body.
An inheritance and a huge payout from a life insurance policy do little to ease Leona’s grief. Adding to her stress is Wade’s brother, Wayne, who makes it clear he suspects Leona is somehow responsible for Wade’s death.
When Wayne is shot dead and his wife Chelsea vanishes, Leona finds herself the prime suspect in a twisted plot of secrets, betrayal, and murder.
Leona is sure that what’s been happening is connected to a secret in Wade’s family. And she’s right. But she has no idea just how shocking that secret is and just how far its keepers will go to protect it…
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series!
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.
Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to read more of these.
Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I received an advance copy of The Widow's Secret by Theo Baxter from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Buckle up as there are lots of twists and turns from beginning to end. I loved it and it kept me up late into the night waiting to see if I figured it out. Great book!
DNF at 10%. Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this one. The narrative felt too superficial and neurotic, and it was lacking the depth I was looking for.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher Inkubator Books, for the ARC, in exchange for my honest review.
Let me first say, this is a well put together story, I found the context flowed smoothly. It was a good, suspenseful read and it completely kept my attention from start to finish.
I really did enjoy this one,
Thanks again!
Thank you Inkubator Books and Netgalley for this ARC.
This was a new author for me and I am really glad I requested this book as it was very well written with a very good storyline so I was pleasantly surprised.

This was a new author for me, but I was pleasantly surprised with it! Really enjoyed the book, will read some more of Mr Baxter's work in future!
Lenore is the prime suspect in her husband’s death, especially by his family. They are hiking on their anniversary and he goes over the side of the cliff. No body, just bloody clothes when the police arrive. Now his brother is dead and his wife are missing. Social media and the public are crucifying her but one police detective believes she is innocent. When a mysterious phone call claims Wade is alive she starts to investigate. A good story.
This was a very good book. It was engaging and very easy to read.
Lenore is going hiking with her wonderful husband of four years. The weekend is very lovey dovie, until suddenly, her husband disappears on a narrow trail, over the edge of the mountain. After an extensive search, he is presumed dead.
As Lenore mourns her loss, her sister-in-law comes to her rescue, with support and friendship.
Suddenly, Lenore is arrested and tried for the murder of her husband. From that point, her life is totally in danger.
I enjoyed the pace of this book, as well as several key twists.
Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC in return for my honest review.
4 stars
I found this book a little disturbing. There was a lot of back and forth and trying to keep it all together was difficult. What was the secret? Did I miss something? I waited until the end but was dissapointed. You can give this one a try if you have nothing else to read but this one wasn't for me.
Would really highly recommend this book as a must read. It was such a fantastic psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns and such good mystery read with such a great story and so well written that I could not leave it down. It had very interesting characters and so well written.
Thankyou to Netgalley the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this ARC.
