Great kids book! My kids kept asking to read it again. Love the illustrations and the message behind it.
Thank you NetGalley and B&H Publishing Group (B&H Books, Holman Bibles, B&H Español, and B&H Kids), B&H Kids for accepting my request to read and review God's Signpost.

The general message is to read the signs: need a bathroom, an airport, street signs, etc. look for the sign.
I have two issues with this book. The first being that the book centers itself on marriage taking a biblical stance; however, the author also opens dialogue regarding one who doesn't marry, and skips over the answer. As far as I'm concerned, this would not be an issue if it were not brought up in the book.
Secondly, the referenced bible is not with the quoted scripture. The reference bible is not well-known. Scrambled in the early copyright, etc pages of the book, near the bottom is the author's choice. I did not fact check the scripture versus common generally known translations. Sadly, that is up to the consumer. Publishers publish -- hence their name: consumers need a standard set by themselves.
The quote from the book says it all: "The signpost isn’t as important as where it’s pointing."
I have posted my review on Goodreads however overall a great book. Pictures colorful and appealing. The idea behind the book and the kid friendly explanation is wonderful. My only concern with the book was what about those marriages that have failed if kids are from fami.ies like this how will they feel? Did there parents fail? It would be nice if this could somewhat be addressed
God's Signpost is a great resource for explaining God's purpose of Marriage to young children. The examples are relevant and age appropriate. The examples are also very relatable. As my children begin to wonder about marriage and God's love I believe this will be a great resource to help the conversation along. I love the follow up questions at the end of the book, they really help take what you read and apply it to every day life.
Sweet and adorably illustrated book to show how marriage points us to the love of God and His commitment to us His creatures. I would recommend this book for families with mainly stable and loving marriages; otherwise it would be confusing for the young readers!
The world is full of signs, yet it has gotten to the point that we do not notice them. This was a great book about seeing God's signs and love in our lives. Children attend special milestones but do not truly understand the connection to God in these. I would highly recommend this book.
A sweet story that explains how marriage points to God's love and the Gospel. I appreciate that this is written by someone is who isn't married, but sees the value of Christian marriage. Thank you, Sam. I love the heart of this book.
Marriage is an important aspect to the Christian life. It is being lost in today's culture and it becomes important to teach our children the value of marriage in the way God sees marriage. When Ethan and Lila found out that they were celebrating with their grandparents 50 years of marriage, they were curious about what the big deal was. Marriage is a celebration. Marriage is a signpost. Signs show us the way to go and how far we have gone.
In a marriage, we show forgiveness loyalty, faithfulness, grace, compassion, and sacrifice. Let us teach our children the value of marriage that God intended.
A special thank you to B&H Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Beautiful children’s book about marriage that is along the same lines as Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. It doesn’t romanticize it, but rather shows the amazing “sign post” it is for God’s love for us. Definitely would recommend as a stepping stone to “other” conversations when a child starts paying attention to that part of life.
Thank you, NetGalley!
God’s Signpost is a book by Sam Allberry that teaches young ones a Biblical view of marriage. I thought the allegory of signposts was an interesting way to teach young ones about Biblical Marriage. I also thought it was good that the author that, good, proper Biblical Marriage should point others to Jesus. We, as a society, often forget that. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
