grumpy/sunshine (or like... misanthropic/reasonable LOL) and also second chance romance, hello! i really loved the way this story was told over dual timelines, which kept me super engaged, though i sometimes struggle with that with romance. just very sweet. great for lovers of wedding drama

where do i even start with this book? i’m always anxious of starting a book i haven’t heard about and hasn’t been recommended by anyone. but the premise and the cover drew me in. and how glad i am it did!

this is julie soto’s debut novel and i can say without a doubt that she blew it out of the park! i’m currently a mess trying to get my thoughts together so bear with me.

this is a second chance romance told through dual timelines and povs. the present with ama and the past with elliot. as the story progresses, you get to learn what happened between them to lead them where they are now.

ama is a firecracker. she always has something to say, she’s sunshine personified and she brings a box of donuts everywhere. she might be small, but she’s mighty. and she has a huge fear of commitment and marriage.

elliot is her total opposite. a broody tall tattooed man, some might even call him rude, he’s a man of few words and he rarely cracks a smile. but he truly believes in love and when he goes all in, he’s all in.

so what happens when those personalities clash? sparks flies and the sexual tension is off the charts! but that was in the past, before ama walked away and broke elliot’s heart.

in the present, they reluctantly team up again for a wedding that could bring them both exposure and it’s awkward. working together is one thing, but finding their way back to each other might be harder.

this was sweet, emotional, spicy, funny and entertaining! and elliot bloom definitely carved up his space up there with my other book boyfriends.

I loved this book! Ama and Elliot’s relationship is such a fun read in every stage. It was a refreshing change of pace to find the FMC to be the one with commitment issues. And honestly, yeah.. she hasn’t had the best example. Elliot is the surly, grumpy, flower guy we all need in our lives.

The spice was spicin, no complaints there!

I was so blessed to receive this book. It was my first Julie Soto book but won’t be my last. I loved this book so much

I struggled to get into the story at the beginning. The main characters didn't spend much time together. Elliott's backwards narration seemed so drawn out at first. I found Elliott rude, reserved, and grumpy. In the second half of the book the pacing picked up, the sparks started flying, and the emotions were all over the place.

An ambitious wedding planner must work with her grumpy florist ex, whose heart she broke, on the most high-profile wedding of her career, what could go wrong?

What a great book! As someone currently planning a wedding I was simultaneously triggered by the stress of it all, and fascinated with a fictional behind the scenes presented by Ama and Elliot. I love a second chance romance and this was such a unique twist. I loved they dynamic between Ama and Elliot. You could feel the angst and pining and you just wanted to yell at them to fix it and get together again!!!

I also loved all the small details including Elliot's flower tattoos and Ama's struggle with her beloved car. Ultimately this was a spicy and emotional read that reminded me why I love second chance romances and broody, tall men who pine for years for their girl.

Loved this book so much I used it to ask my bridesmaids to be in my bridal party!

I finished this in one sitting and with ease. A perfectly sweet, fun little novel. This is one of those romance books that is good for the soul because it’s full of heart. I love a good enemies to lovers and though I’m not big on second chance romances, I enjoyed this one!

This was a second-chance and enemies-to-lovers all in one. Ama and Elliot are a sweet relationship to root for, and the dual POV really helped lay the scene. The dual timeline allows the reader to experience the first time they gave being together a shot, rather than just hearing about it from the present perspective.

I just finished a production of The Music Man, so I figured out Ama’s full name before the reveal and could take a guess how it would play into the plot further on, but I still sighed so deeply when the twist was revealed. I don’t know anything about flowers, but I understand the event planning world thoroughly. I really loved how cute this book was, and I’m definitely sad that Soto doesn’t have any other books out for me to read yet. Perhaps I should check out her fanfics in the meantime.

Julie Soto's 'Forget Me Not' is a touching and beautifully crafted story that resonates with a heartfelt narrative. Now, this is how you do second-chance romance. I loved so much about this story and had a blast reading it.

The story has a unique narrative structure that worked for me. I know it won't be for everyone, but I found it creative. The present-day timeline is told through our female main character's POV, while the flashbacks are via the male main character's POV.

I also loved the writing and tone of the book.

I love the characters in this book. I loved Ama and damn near everything she said. She made me laugh constantly. I loved Elliot. It is obvious how much he loves Ama. Then there were the side characters. They brought so much to the story - fully realized, not just plot devices or mouthpieces. They were a joy to read.

Then there was The Wedding, a character all on its own. Soto was smart to set this in the world of wedding planning. There is so much chaos and drama with weddings and wedding planning that she doesn't need to create unnecessary tension and conflict. It all seemed natural.

I think so many people will love this. It is the perfect rom-com. Seriously, someone make this movie.

I don't know what Julie Soto put in this book, but it must've had a sprinkle of magic! I did not want to put it down -- the sexual tension and chemistry between the hero and heroine was through the roof. Can't wait for this author's next book.

The pain from the past is still there, but so is their undeniable chemistry and when their business is love, can they really hide from it?

This book was so fun and warm hearted. I loved being thrown into the world of planning weddings and Soto’s descriptive writing helped me visualize every scene. The dual timeline POV kept me hooked as I read to find out what happened to break them up as well as how they will get back together. Definitely a binge worthy romance to give you the feel goods 💕

Absolutely loved this book! I feel like I can’t find the words to say how good it was. I’m usually not a fan of being of books that jump between past and present. But this one was written so well and intertwined the past and present like two threads of the same needle. Unlike the description this book was less spicy and a lot more angsty. The way Julie wove the flowers between the story was a piece of art itself. And I can say with utter confidence that I recommend this book to any and everyone.
