I read this fairly quickly, so it was obviously engaging and entertaining. I think it will be a memorable romance for me. But it was far from perfect.

Some things felt a little off. The writing, especially at the beginning, took a minute to get into. There were some clunky phrasing that took me out of the story (I was reading an ARC, so maybe that has been edited for final version). Like this description of a café being a barn back in the day "i don't know what day that was, but it was back." It just feels unnatural like trying to be too unique.

While I did like the structure of Ama's chapters being in the present and Elliot's in the past so we get the whole story (and still get both POVs without being repetitive), Ama in the past did not match up with Ama in the present. She was confident and really outgoing in Elliot's chapters. But then seemed so unsure and almost meek at times in the present. Is that because of what happened with Elliot (and a bit of Whitney)? Maybe? But that isn't made clear that she has been knocked back or changed because of those events. Or maybe it is because we are in present Ama's head we see her whole range of emotions and her insecurities and she's really good at hiding them to other people? But again, that isn't addressed. A line about how she learned to feign confidence or something could have explained that.

The romance does feel a little more physical and the emotional connection takes a bit of a backseat. But Ama and Elliot do have chemistry. And the romance was good and pretty spicy. The ending is pretty abrupt and rushed. But I was really pleasantly surprised at the ending (no spoilers)

I know that's a lot of complaining, but I did really enjoy this book and will be looking forward to Soto's next one.

If Julie Soto writes it, I’m going to read it. One of my favorite fanfic writers is now a published author and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been struggling with every romance I’ve been reading lately but Out On A Limb and Forget Me Not changed that for me. Forget Me Not was so good! My only critique is honestly that I think it could’ve been just a little longer. The ending wrapped up SO quickly and I wasn’t ready to be done with the book or the characters. Elliot and Ama were so, so great. I loved their chemistry and I definitely swooned a little over Elliot. A gorgeous cover for a perfect book. LOVED it.

I adored Forget Me Not by Julie Soto! This romance between Ama and Elliot has different timelines. Ama's timeline happens in the present, and Elliot's timeline is in the past during the first part of their relationship. I feel so hard for Elliot and wanted the best for this second-chance romance trope. I will be thinking about this book for a long while. Read a copy of this book ASAP! I loved the audiobook especially!

Thanks, Forever, LibroFM, Julie Soto, and NetGalley for my ALC and ARC.

Seeing all the buzz around this book made me really excited for it, but sadly it was not for me. I love that it’s set in Sacramento, but I could not care less about the wedding industry. My main issue is that It felt like we never truly got into the heroine’s emotions and motivations for actions in the way that we understood the hero’s despite more of the book being in her POV. I did enjoy Julie Soto’s writing enough in her debut novel that I would love to read more from her in the future.

Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for my copy to review.

I love this book. This was addicting. I love second chance romances, especially when they go back and forth to the past when the characters first fell in love and to the present, as they rediscover each other. This book had just that.

Ama and Elliot are a bit of opposites. Ama is a wedding decorator, one that does not believe in marriage but loves to deliver people who do their dream weddings. And Elliot is a grumpy florist, who got stuck with his father’s flower shop. They are brought together again for a mutual friend’s collaboration for their wedding.

I couldn’t put this book down after I started it! I am definitely rereading once it comes out!

Endearing second-chance love story where the grump loves deeper and the cast of side characters make the story move quicker! Loved it!

Well hello to my new favorite author. Wow. I’ll be reading pretty much every book this author puts out from now on. A strong FMC with a little bit of damsel in distress heroics and pining from our MMC? Second chance romance? Grumpy x Sunshine? Literally all my favorite tropes in one book? Done and done.

This has got to be one of my favorite reads.

Where do I begin!? Elliot is just such a softy. My heart burst reading everything his POV; aka everything he thought about Ama. Now Ama she has a special place in my heart too. They were so perfect for each other. I love second chance romances, but this takes the cake. He understood her in ways he didn’t want to, but couldn’t help it. UGH!!!! The way he broke down Ama’s walls and stayed beside her after it all. I’m melting still. Please read this, I need people to understand how obsessed I am. The tattooed grumpy florist x the sunshine wedding planner… a to die for pairing!

I wasn't sure I wanted to read this book. I usually avoid books that feel YA, and though the characters aren't that young, the duo timelines do portray them as young adults half of the story. I am so glad I requested this book through Netgalley. I enjoyed this book so much more than I had originally expected to. I laughed and cried. I loved the character development and the growth of the characters in both their personal and professional life. The author writes the characters in such a way that makes you feel a connection to them. This book was definitely a slow burn romance with a bit of spice added to heat up the story. I thought the story was creative and well written. I would definitely read future books by this author.

So widely known fact about me…I love Dramione fanfic. I fell in love last year after read The Right Thing to Do from The Rights and Wrongs Trilogy by LovesBitca8, aka Julie Soto. The second I saw her novel available on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to request it. I’m pretty sure I screamed out loud when I saw I was approved.

I had recently been questioning my feelings about the second chance romance trope and this just solidified my love for it. Forget Me Not is about Ama, a wedding planner, and Elliot, a florist, who met years ago when Elliot was still working with his father and Ama was still working for another planner and learning her trade. Ama is given the chance to organize the wedding of a high profile influencer, but there’s one catch. The couple is insisting on Elliot providing the floral for their big event. Suddenly, they’re thrown back into working together which could end up being the best thing or worst thing to ever happen to them.

This book genuinely reminded me of all my favorite romance movies rolled into one perfect package. It was laugh out loud funny, while being super witty and relevant. I highly recommend everyone rush to read it

I thought the concept for this book was great and enjoyed more than half of it for sure, but I felt there was a missing element. The resolution felt a little too quick and too close to the end and I would've loved to read more about them resolving their issues for a longer period, as well as acknowledging their issues around family more.

thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!!

this was such a fun debut novel! Julie Soto's writing is fun and engaging.
novels that center around weddings aren't usually my thing, but I think Soto gave this plot a fun and fresh new take.

Elliot the grumpy tattooed florist was super swoon-worthy and Ama is such a hardworking woman, I couldn't help but root for her.

if you enjoy dual POV, second-chance romance, hookups, wedding planning, banter, and Ali Hazelwood books -- then I'd definitely give this one a shot!
i look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I always love when I find a romance novel that I don’t want to put down. I’m pretty picky with the genre and while I like many romance books, I often find myself wishing for more.

Anyway, this one had it all for me! Ama is a wedding planner, and right away I was getting vibes from The Wedding Planner (the movie). My sister and I have always been obsessed with that movie, and I loved that this had a similar feel to it.

Elliot was the perfect MMC, which is interesting because I hated him in the beginning. I’m all for a grumpy x sunshine trope, but he was next level grumpy. Like just unbelievably rude. But for inexplicable reasons, that kind of behaviour in fictional characters often ends up working for me (and I know I’m not the only one).

I was also not expecting so much spice! This book had no business being so hot, I’m just saying.

Finally, the ending was flawless and it was honestly playing in my head like the perfect romcom movie. Can’t recommend this one enough for all the romance lovers!

Ama is a wedding planner who doesn’t believe in love. Her own mother has been married many times, and she’s not willing to get married. Years ago, she dated Elliot, a florist who she worked with on many weddings, but when it didn’t work out they avoided one another. When Ama is chosen for the biggest wedding of her career, she must work with Elliot again.

I loved this debut from Julie Soto! It was such a sweet (and occasionally spicy) read. I loved the wedding planning storyline as well as the floral meanings that are woven into the story. There are great tropes used, including grumpy/sunshine, second chance romance, and enemies to lovers. It’s beautifully written, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Thank you to Julie Soto and Forever Publishing for sending me an arc of this book.

Such a cute read oh my goodness. I didn’t connect with the past versions of the characters as much as I did with the current versions but I loved their dynamic and the character development was super cute!

Quick Breakdown

Open Door - Moderate Detail

Ama, an independent wedding planner, scores the chance of a lifetime to plan the wedding of a famous influencer. The exposure from a high profile wedding like this could bring her business to the next level. Only problem, the brides already hired a florist - her ex boyfriend who she hasn’t spoken to in two years.

There was a lot to love here, it’s no surprise the great reviews Forget Me Knot is getting. I loved Julie’s writing. I can’t believe this was a debut! It’s smart & had depth. I’m very excited to pick up more by her in the future.

I loved the wedding planning aspect. I always used to joke that if my nursing career didn’t work out, I’d want to go into wedding planning. I appreciated all the precision & planning involved, the creativity required to create elaborate & magical designs.

I loved Elliot. He’s such a soft & quiet cinnamon roll with A+ sexual prowess - my favorite kind of hero! I wish we had more of him & Ama interacting in the present. Where I struggled was with Ama. While I believe she had realistic mental hurdles to overcome because of her mommy issues / toxic relationship with her old boss, it was hard to watch her make the choices she made. I’d love to have seen more of her & Elliot together to balance it out, but alas.. the slow burn.

Forget Me Not is told in dual POV & dual timelines in a style that was new to me. Ama’s POV was the present & Elliot’s POV was the past. I loved how it added to the story & my love for Elliot!

This maybe a me thing, but I struggle when the reader is kept in the dark about the reason a couple broke up the first time. That was the situation here. While reading, I was able to put together on my own what pulled our MCs apart, I wish it was addressed earlier.

I listened to this on my drive home from vacation & I highly recommend this one if you’re into audio. It’s narrated by Callie Dalton & Teddy Hamilton. I love their voices & I think I got more out of this by listening. I couldn’t put it down!

This was an incredible second chance + forced proximity romance, one of the best trope combinations if you ask me. Admittedly, I’m picky about dual timelines, but this one did it well! The pacing even with the dual timelines was great and I never felt like anything was being dragged out. AND the tension was toooo good.

I really enjoyed this one... until the last 5%. it didn't ruin it for me, but it felt like things were crazy rushed at the end. And then almost had an ambiguous ending? It didn’t seem like we got a clear answer on her thoughts on marriage and if she had changed her mind or if he was now willing to compromise. Since it was the reason they broke up in the past, I wish it had been more clear what their feelings were on the subject. Still a very enjoyable read and would recommend!

This is a tough one to review. I liked it, but didn't love it. I enjoyed the dual timelines with Ama's in the present and Elliott's in the past. I'm always a fan of a grumpy/sunshine trope, but I'm not sure that Ama was quite enough sunshine to classify it as that; however, Elliott was plenty broody. I love weddings and it was fun to dive into the wedding planning/florist side of the industry. Overall, it was good.
