When Raina found herself in danger, she wasn't sure who to turn to.

I appreciated Vince's willingness to help Raina even with all the barriers she had in place. And the way he fiercely protected her until she came to realize Vince was a good man, one who could be counted on.

Raina's past choices and the horrific consequences made it difficult for her to trust anyone with her secrets. But Vince was determined to help her.

Ms. Eason did a great job showing the reader Raina's decision to trust Vince, by layering moments throughout the book. As Raina learned to trust Vince, she was drawn closer to the heart  of God.

Readers of Countdown will be reminded that we'll go through seasons when we question God--His goodness, His sovereignty. We get through those seasons by focusing on who God is.

I received an advanced reader's copy from the publisher through NetGalley and the Revell Reads program; a positive review was not required.

Really enjoy romantic suspense, so this was a fun read for me. A dangerous stalker is after Raina, and US Marshal Vince is set to protect her. Like the whole protective hero aspect. I do get annoyed when the characters make horrible choices that lead to dangerous situations, but still an interesting read. I enjoyed the story; I didn’t realize this had religious aspects, which isn’t my thing, but I mainly liked the story. Good connection between Raina and Vince, and love some danger! A good read! These ebooks are on the expensive side though, so I probably won’t continue the series or read previous books.

An incredible story. Lots of mystery and action with a brewing romance. Reina always has to look over her shoulder for the man that almost killed her. He is a phantom with a fake name, no pictures and a powerful family who will do anything to hide his cruel nature. Vince is a Marshall who deeply cares for Reina but she has locked up her heart. When a teenage boy is interviewed on TV the past comes back along with the killer. Reina finally opens up to Vince and he does all he can to protect her through many dangers until the killer is caught. There are hidden agendas that will really surprise you.

This was so fast paced the book flew by! I loved Raina. She is so strong and basically fearless. I loved how she made some incredibly hard decisions and never looked back. Vince was great too. Super patient and protective.

This book was a great mix of action, adventure, and mystery. I did figure a lot of it out along the way but it didn't take away from enjoying the book.

No spoilers but I really appreciated how this book wrapped up.

This 4th and last book in Eason's Extreme Measures series will keep you turning pages from start to finish. This book focuses on the last of the flight paramedics, Raina Price. Raina, Penny and Holly all knew each other from being in juvenile detention as the same time. Each has turned their life around and found a niche where they currently are working together. Raina, though, has a past from which she is still running; but has the time come when it will catch up with her? Will her new friend, Vince, be able to help her make her way through attempt after attempt to kill her and anyone from her past? And who is the real villain: her ex or someone else?

Filled with twists and turns and an ending that totally surprised me, I loved every page of the conclusion to this series. Don't miss this well written suspense novel along with the previous 3 that, once again, combined to bring and amazing suspense series from Lynette Eason.

Action packed, great suspense, twists and turns that kept me turning pages and trying to guess what was to come (sometimes correct and sometimes totally surprised), and all around a great read!

I didn't start at the beginning of this series. I had a friend encourage me to read the third book and I was hooked. That was my first book by this author and I instantly wanted to pick up this fourth and final book in this series when I knew it was available.

Lynette Eason does a great job of hooking readers with her characters and the mystery behind their past. Raina starts the book off and is pretty impressive in her rescue efforts in her job. She's hesitant about something that happens within that rescue that leaves us readers questioning what from her past is causing her to behave this way. Then we get introduced to US Marshal Vince Corelli and see his interest in Raina and learn more about the dynamics of their friendship and his desire to possibly try to see if there could be more to their friendship. Yet Raina is pretty closed off and Vince suspects there's something that is holding her back.

I loved when more of the reasoning behind her standoffishness came to light and she knew she needed help and to trust someone. I loved that she turned to Vince and he was able to start to piece together more information about Raina and know that there could be a possibility of more between them with her starting to trust him.

The suspense and mystery are definitely the motivators and what moves the story along but the developing friendship to more between these two added a nice touch to lighten the mood as I was turning the pages quickly.

I had a camping trip in between starting to read this book and finishing it. Let's just say that reading suspense and walking in the woods in the dark at night to the bathroom by yourself is not a good combination. Hahahaha! I may have spooked myself!

Content: Clean. The book talks about a stalker, there are intense moments, murder, kidnapping, mention of a serial killer but the author does it in a sensitive way that isn't overly graphic. There is also talk of having a baby out of wedlock and adoption. The romance between the main couple is clean and nothing more than some kisses.

I received a copy from the publisher, Revell, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

A fantastic series deserves a fitting conclusion and Countdown, by Lynette Eason certainly delivers that.

This fourth offering in the Extreme Measures series features flight medic Raina Price. She’s successfully hidden from a deadly past for over a decade, but a chance news report throws her back into harm’s way.

Vincent Corelli is a US Marshall, and when Raina is nearly killed before his eyes, he steps in to keep her safe. The two must work together to stop the stalker who’s targeting her, before it’s too late.

But this is a Lynette Eason novel, so no, of course it’s nowhere near that simple. There are more twists and turns than the average trip to Six Flags in this story. The book is tightly written and the plight of the characters compelling.

The entire Extreme Measures series has been well done. It’s worth noting that each book is a standalone story, but I think it’s more fun to read them all. That way, when other characters show up, you have the fun of knowing them, like old friends. I love that.

If you’re looking for a good romantic suspense story, then Countdown is highly recommended. I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions are my own.

4.5 stars

I have so enjoyed Lynette Eason’s Extreme Measures series, and while I hate to see it end I can’t think of a better send-off than Raina’s story at long last! Raina has intrigued me from the beginning. She’s tended to remain in the background even while supporting her close friends, and we don’t learn too much about her in the previous books. But what we DO know about her had me so eager to finally find out more in Countdown.

And I was definitely not disappointed. It turns out that Raina’s backstory has several emotionally-complex layers that Eason skillfully reveals a bit at a time – some layers that even her closest friends didn’t know until readers did, too. While a news story and several subsequent attacks force Raina’s hand when it comes to telling her story, her friendship with US Marshal Vince Corelli is also part of the equation. His gentle presence in her life – both professionally and personally – gives her another safe haven to run to when the one she’s spent years building begins to fall apart. Yes, he’s strong and tough, living up quite swoonily to his job as a federal agent, but what I loved most about Vince is that he doesn’t come barging in to take over. He lets Raina be strong too, but he’s there when she needs him to be the strong one.

The suspense is – no surprise – top notch but there are a few surprising twists that continue to get more complicated as the book builds toward an intense finale. There’s more at stake than just Raina’s life, and that weight kept me on edge all the way through. Eason also incorporates a unique perspective that gives us insight that Raina & Vince aren’t privy to, a clever plot device which adds to the overall depth of the narrative and makes it even more riveting.

Bottom Line: Countdown by Lynette Eason is an ideal finale for the Extreme Measures series. After all, if we must say goodbye to these characters, Raina’s story is the one to end on. Readers who have been drawn to Raina from the beginning will develop an even deeper appreciation for her as the author peels back the intricate layers of where Raina came from and why her life is now in danger – along with the lives of others she cares about. The romance between Vince & Raina is delightful and swoony, and I thought he was the perfect hero for her story. Amid the high-stakes suspense and sweet romance, Eason beautifully weaves a theme of trusting God into the story’s framework without being too preachy or inauthentic. Another fabulous, hold-onto-your-hat ride from this author!

What an exciting fourth book in the Extreme Measures series! It’s another edge of your seat thriller from Lynette Eason that had me quickly turning the pages. I easily devoured this in a day because it was so hard to put down. It’s a well written, inspirational, romantic suspense with endearing characters, an original plot, and a cruel, dangerous stalker.

Flight paramedic Raina Price has secrets and hopes she’s finally escaped her past. When she sees a familiar looking twelve year old boy on tv who’s a talented Olympic hopeful, she worries that his life may be in danger. Though Raina has a difficult time opening up and trusting others, she decides to override her fears and trust handsome US Marshall Vince Corelli when he offers his help.

Vince Corelli’s been intrigued by Raina since he first met her. She always seemed so out of reach, but when she agrees to go to dinner with him and finally opens up, he vows to do everything in his power to help her. But, in addition to the boy, Raina’s life is in danger when her past finally catches up to her. Will he be able to protect both Raina and the young boy before it’s too late?

From North Carolina to the Colorado mountains, this book was one wild ride full of twists and turns! There were so many suspenseful moments and things I didn’t see coming. Balanced with the action and mystery is an enjoyable romance between Vince and Raina. Raina struggles with her fears and having faith. She also worries about how others will perceive her. Vince also has things in his past he regrets and I enjoyed the way these two worked through their struggles together.

It’s an action-packed, suspenseful, nail-biter that’ll keep you reading late into the night, with a sweet, tender romance and touch of faith. Highly recommend this entire series! Though it’s the fourth book, it can definitely be read as a standalone. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided. 4 1/2 stars raised to 5.

So good!

Eason once again provides an action packed story with multiplier layers. I was quickly drawn into the characters and the mystery quickly.

Raina has been somewhat a mystery throughout the series never letting anyone too close, but Vince is tenacious, to say the least.

I appreciated the foundation truths that the author reminded me of, the importance of trust. Raina, for good reason, struggled to trust not only her friends but God. This story brought that front and center and gave her an opportunity to grow.

Without giving anything away too much, the story was bittersweet, dealing with several real life issues that too many face.

This series uses characters from the previous books, but each book easily stands on it own.

I would (and will) recommend this book to friends and family.

This is a Clean Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Extreme Measure series. I have read the first and third book in this series before picking this book, but I do think you could read this book as a standalone. This is a very fast paced book with a ton of action and suspense with a little bit of romance mixed into it. I loved all the action and the characters in this book. There is a mixed police and medical stuff going on in this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Revell) or author (Lynette Eason) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Be sure you have some reading time when you start Countdown because you won't be able to put it down! Countdown is the fourth and final book in the Extreme Measure series so I expected it to be great and was not disappointed! We had met flight paramedic, Raina Price in earlier books but now we learned why she has kept a low profile. A young teenager is interviewed on national television and, unknowingly, starts a chain of dangerous and deadly events. I admired Raina for decisions she has made to protect others. I admired US Marshal Vincent Covelli for making the decision to protect Raina no matter what! If you are a fan of romance and danger, You won't want to miss Countdown! I received an advance copy of Countdown from Revell and an e-book through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.

Countdown by Lynette Eason is the fourth book in her Extreme Measures series. It is a suspenseful, romantic thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

The story follows Raina Price, a flight paramedic who is being stalked by a dangerous man. She has been running for years, but the stalker is always one step behind her. When she is almost killed in an attack, she is assigned a US Marshal, Vincent Corelli, to protect her.

Vincent is determined to keep Raina safe, but he soon realizes that the stalker is more dangerous than he thought. As they work together to solve the mystery of Raina's past, they must also race against time to stop the stalker before he strikes again.

Countdown is a well-written and exciting novel with a strong cast of characters. Raina is a relatable and likable heroine, and Vincent is a charming and protective hero. The suspense is high throughout the book, and the plot twists will keep you guessing until the very end.

Here are some additional thoughts on Countdown:

The suspense is excellent. The author does a great job of keeping the reader guessing and on the edge of their seat.
The characters are well-developed and relatable. I found myself rooting for Raina and Vincent throughout the book.
The romance is slow-burn and sweet. It doesn't feel forced or out of place in the story.
The Christian elements are subtle and don't detract from the story.
Overall, I highly recommend Countdown. It is a well-written, suspenseful, and romantic thriller that you won't want to miss.

If you're looking for similar authors to Lynette Eason, I would recommend Hallee Bridgeman, Lynn Blackburn, and Janice Cantore.

On the run from a stalker, Raina Price has spent her life looking over her shoulder. A face on TV brings her out of hiding, in hopes of them from her stalker's clutches, but will trying to save a life cost Raina her own?

A fast paced thriller that had me on edge of my seat, with compelling main characters. I admired Vincent's willingness to step up and help Raina, despite her hold ups, as well as his strong faith.

A twisting plot that kept me guessing, with a lot going on throughout. I loved seeing characters from previous books in the series, though you could also read this book as a stand alone.

Overall, a suspenseful read, with amazing characters, and relationship building. I loved the strong themes of faith, and compelling story. I didn't want it to end, as it built up to a satisfying ending that kept me guessing.

Countdown by Lynette Eason offers readers an intriguing thrill ride! Raina Price isn’t who she says she is. She’s been on the run for years, hiding from a stalker. But she comes out of hiding, with the help of US Marshal Vincent Corelli, to protect someone innocent. And once she steps into the light, she becomes a target.

I love this story. There’s quite a bit of drama which adds to the suspense. Readers will go on a journey to uncover the truth about what happened to Raina as she and Vince race to stop a killer from striking again. The romance adds a nice balance, as it’s not rushed. Raina’s been in hiding for so long, she doesn’t know how to let anyone into her life.

The entire Extreme Measures series is fantastic but be sure to check out Countdown and clear your calendar for the weekend. You won’t want to put this novel down.

The final thrilling suspense in the Extreme Measures series.

action packed and suspense filled.
some parts were maybe a bit predictable...?! I loved it anyway!
This is finally Raina's story.
Raina's been running. And hiding her past and her true identity for a very long time.
But then, she makes one wrong move - calls someone from her past, and things start to fall apart right in front of her. And someone...is still very determined to kill her.
Vince is determined to protect Raina, at all costs. He only wants to show her he cares, and he wishes she would come clean about her past.
This story is incredibly action packed. Suspense, mystery, murder, and much more.
It kept me reading and turning pages quickly.

Another riveting book in the Extreme Measures Series. This final book is about Raina, the flight paramedic and US Marshal Vincent Covelli. I loved the non-stop action and supreme intensity of the scenes. The plot kept me guessing and I enjoyed the test to see if I could figure out what was coming next and who was behind all the evil. A book that keeps my attention well enough to keep me from putting it down before it's done is what I long. This one receives two thumbs as I finished it the day I received it.

Highly recommend this book and the series it is part of. Great reads.

Countdown is book four in Lynette Eason's Extreme Measures series. Each book focuses on a woman who spent time in juvie growing up. All four are successful, productive members of society, but they all have pasts that come calling.

Ms. Eason is a master at blending suspense and romance, I loved the way Raina and Vincent interacted with each other. The dialogue was witty and helped the plot along. I loved the way she wove faith throughout the story. I highly recommend this book (and series) to all who love Dee Henderson, Dani Pettrey and DiAnn Mills style of writing.

So brew up a pot of tea and head to your favorite chair for one heck of an adventure.

I was given a copy of this book with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.
