.Summer in the Spotlight is a wonderful conclusion to the Prince Edward Island Shores Trilogy. Levi Ross takes center stage in this book with the beautiful Kelsey as his leading lady. He is every bit as swoon worthy as his older brothers and had me swooning from the get-go. Why? He is a considerate, loyal, loving booknerd who places family as his priority. Kelsey is my new best friend. She is fun, easygoing, and devoted. It was a perfect match for each other.
This is a very enjoyable, fun, and lighthearted romance.
*I was given a copy of this book by Revell Publishers, and this is my honest opinion.
I really enjoyed this third installment in the Prince Edward Island Shores series by Liz Johnson. I was really looking forward to reading the story of the third Ross brother, and learning the reason behind his extremely introverted ways. Levi is kind, smart, steadfast, and keeps to himself. He very much needed someone like Kelsey to draw him out of his shell. And that she did! I enjoyed Kelsey; she was a breath of fresh air, though also with her own personal struggles which made her seem relatable. There were times when my heart ached for her. Levi and the town theater needed Kelsey's brand of sunshine and energy to make their way successfully into the future. The rivalry of the weatherman was an interesting addition to the plot, and I enjoyed seeing Levi act as a mentor to a local teen. I was so proud of Levi when he stood up for what he wanted and needed, he was easy to root for! This is a fun summer romance that I definitely recommend! You don't need to have read books one and two to follow along with this one, but it would not hurt. I will say I am sad this is the end of the series; I've enjoyed the setting of Price Edward Island and I need to catch up on some of the author's other works. Anyway thank you to Netgalley and Revell for my review copy; a positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.
I've loved this series since the beginning and have loved every minute of it!
I've really enjoyed visiting Prince Edward Island without leaving the comfort of my home.
This is Kelsey and Levi's story and, in my opinion, the very best one!
Why, you ask? Cause it has a little bit of everything in it for you to enjoy!
Sweet romance, a lovely setting. Along with a little theater included!
I know it's going to sound a little weird, but what I thought was exciting and my favorite was the hurricane and the theater!
Since I've experienced both, I can relate to this story pretty well.
You'll also have your not so good characters bit also in my opinion that's what adds spice to the book.
Sometimes it's the secondary characters that will tug at your heart. I found myself praying for them!
Johnson has once again worked her wonderful magic on me. I had a wonderful adventure!
I was unable to put this book down until I was finished! I love a good story, and this was awesome! I have no words it was so good.
The cover was simply beautiful! One of my favorite book covers so far!
5 stars for a well written book. I highly recommend it.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
The third brother and the third book in this series, Levi, and if you've read the previous reads in this series, you know how he has given to the others and his Mom. Now this this Levi's story and he is a man of little words, but mighty action, and still wanting the Green Shuttered House, he made a big sacrifice in the last book, and the author does a great job of bringing you up to date at just the right point!
This is also Kelsey Ahern's story, a young woman passionate about the theater, and now wants to rebuild the local one that has been just about destroyed in the hurricane.
Will these two succeed, we embark on the journey to at least try and you know that life isn't always easy and some unsavory characters appear that will have you second guessing.
This is also a story of sweet romance, and updates on the family that Mama Potts has kept going!
Make sure you read the author's notes on the actual theater!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.
I first visited PEI in 2021, and discovered Johnson's work shortly thereafter. It's so fun to be able to revisit such an amazing place through her eyes. Her romances are sweet and fun.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s the third in a series and you need to read the first two in order to understand the full weight of why Levi is the way he is. I thought Levi and Kelsey were a good match for one another, and I enjoyed seeing them both open up about their past issues to one another. I thought the issue of Levi’s father and how it was delt with in this novel was also very well done. This entire series is one worth spending the time reading. Each of the brother’s story was unique and completely different from one another. Well done!

Summer in the Spotlight was everything and more than I wanted it to be. What a brilliant, poignant and lovable end to this modern classic series. Those Ross boys, perfectly flawed and fiercely loyal, are more than worth the read. Toss a gorgeous cover and wisdom we desperately need with joyful scenes and wounded heroes who need cheering for one tasty read.
The preview for Liz Johnson's next book ensures a hearty signup for me.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
I have loved all of Liz Johnson's books, her Prince Edward Island Dreams series, the Georgia Shores series and the first two Prince Edward Island Shores books. But for some reason I couldn't get invested in the characters in this one. It seemed to move so slow. Plus acting in plays isn't an interest of mine.
Though I did really like learning about the history of the real Victoria Playhouse.
Hopefully this book will appeal more to others.
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.
Summer in the Spotlight is a very well written romance. This book has a goor plot with well developed characters. I definitely recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is an unbiased review.
An interesting story that captured so many things that are good and bad about families. The depth of characters is wonderful.
Kelsey and Levi’s story is spectacular. These two fought tooth and nail to save Kelsey’s job and the playhouse. I loved how Kelsey would put words to Levi’s grunts, assuming what he meant. What Levi didn’t say in words, he made up for in the sweetest actions. Summer in the Spotlight is a captivating read that’s clean.
My appreciation goes to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a complimentary copy. My opinions are my own.
Summer in the Spotlight by Liz Johnson returns to Prince Edward Island as a conclusion to the series of the Ross brothers.
Levi is a man of few words. When he saves Kelsey during a hurricane, his childhood crush returns with a force. When Kelsey needs help with a benefit to help rebuild the destroyed Victoria Playhouse, Levi steps up to lend a hand.
The chemistry between the two builds into a sweet love story. Revisiting Oliver and Eli and Mama Potts just adds to rounding out this heartwarming story. Levi and Kelsey must face their past before moving forward, overcoming paralyzing fears. A delightful clean romance.
I received a complimentary ebook copy from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I had total replacement surgery of my right shoulder. So typing one handed is quite a chore. But NetGalley won’t except anything less than 100 words. I get it. But I thought a review was better sooner than later. This book is a joy to read. It is relaxing. If you live in Florida you can relate to the devastation of a hurricane. The characters are well developed and likable. The action may not be on the edge of your seat, but it moves along nicely. You’ll be glad you read this book. It reinforces that diligence and perseverance do pay off.
3.5 stars. This book sucked me in immediately with the storm, and I was very engaged at the end, but the middle dragged. I like the family in this series and appreciate all of the cross references and continuity among the books. In this one in particular, I liked how protective Levi was and also his strong work ethic. I thought the book just needed some “oomph” in the middle.
This book was awesome. I was hesitant at first, I found Levi's not wanting to talk slightly annoying, until I understood why. Then I fell in love with this story and was sad when it was done.
I'm so glad Meg and Oliver and Eli and Violet were such bug parts in this book as well. Seeing their lives continue on was so fun.
I highly recommend this book to anyone.

A great book, a lovely story in a fantastic setting. I loved the main characters, especially Levi - as a character of few words I loved how impactful what he did say was, and loved seeing him overcome his silence and find his voice again.
This is the first book I have read in this series but the second book I have read by this author based on PEI. Both books have made me not only want to read more in the series’ but also to see the island for myself.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley UK for a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
This is a lovely conclusion to the series, and I was so happy to return to PEI with these characters. Both Levi and Kelsey have been severely harmed by those who should have loved them. They have built up walls. It's a wonderful journey to see how those walls come down, and Johnson brings the reader along for the ride every step of the way. I also appreciated how the loss of the theater impacted the entire community and how the citizens support each other in a time of crisis.
A feel-good romance perfect for fans of clean, uplifting stories.
I've loved the Prince Edward Island series by Liz Johnson, and I think this is the best one yet. Levi spares his words and keeps to himself until it comes to helping Kelsey. He's the quiet, unexpected, and handsome hero and she's the woman who has a heart of gold. Johnson has written a heartwarming story that shows how a person can make a difference. You'll cheer for Levi and Kelsey as they struggle to reach for their dreams and discover where life is taking them. If you love a good romance with wonderful characters, you'll want to read Summer in the Spotlight. I received an early reader copy. Opinions are my own.
I so enjoy this type of book. It's the perfect beach read, a great escape into a fun story set in such a dreamy location. My first interest in this book came because of the words "Prince Edward Island." Sold! I came for that and stayed to see Kelsey and Levi figure out their relationship. Levi is beyond sweet, and you can't help but root for him to find a way to tell Kelsey how he feels. His struggle to speak made for a unique element that fit well and only upped the tension.
I was new to this series, but had no trouble diving in and didn't feel a need to have read the other books first--though I may be going back sometime soon to see what I've missed!
Summer in the Spotlight brings us back to Prince Edward Island with Levi Ross’ story. After a hurricane severely damages the town’s theater, he joins forces with Kelsey, his childhood crush, to help rebuild it. The story delves into the challenges and sacrifices of the community after such a devastating blow. The loss of the theater affects the entire community, jobs, tourism, and more. We watch as Levi learns to break down the wall he built when his abusive father deserted the family years earlier, as the community unites in support of rebuilding, and the love and strength of family in a time of crisis. I loved this series and recommend all three books in Liz Johnson’s Prince Edward Island Shores series.
