Another powerful book by Coble! There's a reason you should read her novels--she's just that good! The conclusion to the Annie Pederson series is as powerful as the beginning. I love the well-developed characters, the Michigan setting and the breakneck speed of all the action.

Honestly you can't go wrong reading a Coble book. She leaves you with satisfying endings and a message of hope in each novel.

I was an early reader, thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a review.

This gripping series came to a hunting conclusion when good and evil meet in the woods.

I was a bit sorry that I was correct in who I suspected was involved, because of the effect it had on the people around the person.

Jon and Annie also reconciled in the challenges their relationship was facing. Annie had to work through forgiveness and acceptance as well personally to be able to move on.

I enjoyed the brief visit we had to Rock Harbor. Those who did not read that series won’t miss out, since Bree and Samson make very brief appearances. The focus is on Annie, but readers who have read and loved Rock Harbor will enjoy seeing their favourite characters doing well.

What an amazing conclusion to this series! Return to Rock Harbor for answers Annie and Jon need to find before they can try happily ever after. This story is powered by heart-pounding adrenaline that keeps the pages flipping to find out what happens next and if the bad guy ever gets caught. There are just enough action breaks to catch your breath for the next step. But these breaks are never boring, the characters continue to develop and grow. The lessons they learn and questions they have to work through leap off the pages into the real world. The reader is made a part of their journey, like a close friend being told a great story. Their dependence on God and His plan for each of us naturally unfolds to show the reader that the same is true in their lives.
This thrilling end to the story is action from start to finish. There were times I really couldn't read fast enough, wanting to find out what was coming next. With Annie trying to find a way to get her relationships on track and keep her investigation moving forward, Sarah and Jon will need to help. A couple really late nights was all it took to get through this action packed book. Colleen Coble is so amazing at lifting the suspense to the very edge before stringing in a break to catch your breath before it starts all over again. She controls the adrenaline rush to perfection, building to a wonderful finale. I also love how the major questions are answered but Colleen Coble leaves the ongoing lives of the characters room to continue on. A glimpse into their lives for a short period of time, exciting and dangerous, hopefully settling down after. Colleen Coble is always on my instant read list and this book is no different. If you are looking for an exciting read with multiple levels of action and suspense, this book is what you need. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I loved this final book in the trilogy. There are many tense moments to come and the plot has some surprises. I love the complex characters

Maybe it’s just me. I wanted to read Collen Coble’s “Break of Day,” because it sounded like JUST what I needed: suspense, strong female protagonist, not too violent. But then I saw it was #3 in a trilogy, which sort of clarified why I was having trouble getting into it. Also, I then saw that in addition to being categorized as “Mystery and Suspense” (that’s fine), it was also labeled as “Romance” and “Women’s Fiction” — the first being NOT my genre and – well, I have no idea what makes something “Women’s Fiction. “

In any case, I thought maybe I should go back to the first in the series , 2022’s “Edge of Dusk.” In between we have “Dark of Night,” from January of this year…when does this author sleep? In any case, I received a copy of Coble’s latest (thanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley) in exchange for my honest review, so I tried to get into this series featuring plucky Annie Pedersen and her charming town of Rock Harbor.

I even bought Edge of Dusk, and I truly did give it my best effort. When I looked at reviews for the latest title, they were nearly unanimous: FIVE stars! Clearly it is just me. I will recommend it to people I am fairly certain will love it. I‘m going with four stars, because for years as a teacher I was a notoriously easy grader, and it did sound like a good story. Enjoy!

I didn’t realize when I began this book that it was the final book of a trilogy - and I’m disappointed that I didn’t read them in order. Do yourself a favor and read in the order published!

Annie is a well written, strong character that I enjoyed getting to know in this book. If you’re looking for a suspenseful Christian thriller, this book is for you.. after you read the first two, that is.

Talk about ending with a bang. Colleen Coble really did a great job in winding up this trilogy. There were so many loose ends and almost all of them are tied up quite neatly When the story is concluded. The biggest issues have to with Jon & Annie, Annie & Sara, and Jon's connection to Kylie, Annie's daughter. Readers will be happy with the endings of their stories. One weird thing I just can't wrap my head around is the informal way in which Jon, a medical doctor, just tags along with Annie when she is working. Just seems so informal and unprofessional. One star deduction.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This was such a good read that worked hard to bring together all the divergent plots from across the three books. It had a section that felt very like the Hunger Games in a way that made me Love Annie, the heroine. She was so strong, yet there were moments where her softness and questions would crack through. So much was happening throughout the book that it felt a bit breakneck, yet every bit of action pulled through to a clue or thread that point Annie and Jon in the right direction. And the faith element was a clear, integral part of this story. Really enjoyed returning to Rock Harbor for this romantic suspense novel. Richly layered and engaging from beginning to end.

Break of Day is the third and final book in the Annie Pederson series. This is one that I would definitely not recommend reading as a standalone, as I don't feel like you'd be able to get the full enjoyment without reading in order. There is a lot of backstories that I think it crucial to events and relationships in this one. Even having read the previous books, it took me a little bit to remind myself who was who and reacquaint myself with what had happened already. (It has been a bit since the previous books, and I have memory issues.)

Colleen Coble is one of my absolute favorites, and more often than not when I sit down with one of her books, I can pretty much kiss productivity goodbye because I'm not able to put it down... but I have to admit I struggled with this one a little bit. There were a few reasons for this, and for the most part it had nothing to do with the story itself. In fact, it was a really great story and just as well-written as anything else I've read from Coble in the past. That said, it did seem like the premise behind the story feels a bit darker than I'm used to from her. Combine this with having just come from reading much more lighthearted reads and my mental state not being in the greatest place when I started reading... it was a lot. I actually had to step away for a bit and read something lighter before coming back to finish. Again, this is definitely more me than the book.

Despite all that, I did really enjoy the book. It was nonstop action and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat, and of course the bits of romance mixed in too. More than anything, I really enjoyed the message of faith and forgiveness, and watching how Sarah and Annie's relationship plays out in the end.

If you enjoy Christian suspense, this series is definitely one worth checking out.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Nailbiting suspense galore!!
I am at a loss for words to even try and describe the suspence and drama in this book!! At times I didn't want to read because I didn't want the book to end! Jon and Annie together with her long lost sister, Sarah is in a fight for their lives against evil as you can get evil! Brilliantly written! The roller-coaster ride from hope to despair is just so intense that it won't let you go! Any always always their is hope and victory in God!

I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Sarah. (Wink, wink)

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's full of action, suspense, drama, and romance. I loved every minute spent reading book and hated to see it end. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a clean romantic suspense.
I received a complimentary copy from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A riveting story to wrap up the Annie Pederson books in Rock Harbor. Unlike other books in her series, the protagonist was obvious to me partway through the book . It still made for a good story, albeit difficult to read due to the subject nature.

The side story of her family reuniting once the blood DNA test revealed Jon is her daughters biological father, was heartwarming. This is a Christian story as most characters rely on God's guidance in their daily lives. It's obvious but not pushed down the reader's throat.

It's full of mystery, action , and adventure wrapped up in a riveting storyline that you're going to want to read

Although I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Upper Peninsula region of Michigan on Lake Superior is an area I know nothing at all about and the region figures prominently in this series. That is one of the best features of these books. The area comes alive with all its' beauty and danger. Annie is on the brink of having it all: adorable if prickly child, hot guy and the return of her sister who was kidnapped years ago. As a park ranger and owner of a campground and marina, in high season (July) Annie is crazy busy with missing campers, break-ins and murder.

In trying to come to terms with her estranged sister, Sarah, Annie may have unwitting sent her into danger when she turns up missing. With a rash of missing campers, Annie has long suspected that there is something more than just lost hikers who have disappeared. Now Sarah is missing too and her investigation has placed Annie in danger.

First off, you must read the other books in this series in order to understand what is happening in this book. This is a story arc that spans the trilogy and jumping in on this book is not advised. With the history you have a chance of understanding what is taking place and the characters involved. The depiction of strong, Christian characters is a bonus to this book. It shows that everyone has family problems and we all just work it out with God's help. The mystery was vague and reason for the threat to Annie and her family was unclear. But the last 20% of the book is some of the best action-suspense I've ever read. 3 1/2-Stars

My thanks to the Publisher and Author for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

Wow! Break of Day has it all--mystery, suspense, action, faith, romance, and a little creepiness. Those villains, oh, my! I had not read the first two books in the series and was a little lost to start with, so my advice is to read the first two in the Annie Pederson series before starting this one. I enjoyed it without having done so, but I think I would have liked it even better if I had. Jon, Annie, and Kylie are great characters. The plot has those twists and turns that are so essential to good suspense. This is one of those books that would have been super hard to put down, so I didn't even try!
I highly recommend this book and definitely want to read more from author Colleen Coble.

SPECTACULAR ROMANTIC SUSPENSE!

Best-selling author Colleen Coble has just released Book 3 of her Annie Pederson Novel Series, and, in my opinion, Break of Day is the cream of the crop! These books may be read as stand-alone, but to truly understand the deeper meanings of the characters' complicated relationships, they should be read in sequential order. Coble delivers spectacular romantic suspense that will keep readers blazing thru the pages. She tackles issues such as family drama, child abduction (past and present), estrangement, lost and found love, and a killer on the loose. Add all of these elements together and it adds up to a spectacular romantic suspense!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own and without influence.

Criminal Minds Meet Annie Pederson

Having been a Criminal Minds fan for years they had a similar story line in one episode. But this was so much better!

Coble brings out the best in her characters allowing the reader to fall in love with them and cheer their victories (and cry at their defeats!).

In this installment of the Annie Pederson series the stakes are higher than ever as is Annie's determination.

I loved this story because of the range of real emotions Annie, Jon, and Sarah all experience. It's a reminder that are choices have consequences and life is messy but God's grace and forgiveness is the ulitmate cleaner.

If you're a Coble fan this book will not disappoint. If you are new to Coble, start with the first book in the series and just enjoy! (Binge reading weekend!)

Break of Day is the third and concluding book in Colleen Coble’s Annie Pederson trilogy. These stories follow the activities occurring in the Upper Peninsula town of Rock Harbor along the banks of Lake Superior, which plays an ominous role in the telling of the tale.
This book begins where the second book in the series, Dark of Night, leaves off. Annie Pederson is a law enforcement ranger in Rock Harbor, MI, as well as the owner operator of the Tremelo Marina and Cabin resort which she inherited after the boating explosion that killed her parents as well as her husband Nate. Dr. Jon Dunstan has reappeared in Annie’s life as he has returned to Rock Harbor to help his father. Seeing Jon again, her teenage love, has thrown Annie off her game and her daughter Kylie has developed an instant dislike of Jon until his overtures to help Kylie as she must learn to live with the dietary constraints of a person with celiac disease, an inherited disease he also deals with, draw her in. But the bridge began to be formed when Jon saves Kylie at the end of the second installment of the trilogy at great peril to himself.
In the final installment, the plot line picks back up with the crime thread established in book 1 of the disappearance of many lone campers to the wilderness area. The reports of a very few survivors tells of a group of men that kidnapped them, then made them run for their lives in a human hunt, referring to the terrified people as their quarry. It would appear their are serial killers in their midst! With new victims and the kidnapping of Annie’s sister, Annie becomes embroiled in the fight of her life.
And this is the spark of the story to come! Yet another well woven thriller series written in Ms. Coble’s crisp and steady style. Characters with depth and a mystery that will leave the reader hanging, but never wanting, until the very end. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Break of Day by Colleen Coble is the third book in her Annie Pederson series, and the first book I have read by this author. I have to be honest, I found it difficult to become fully engaged in the book as it was quite confusing at the beginning. I'm sure that had I read the previous two books in the series it would have been a different reading experience. The main character Annie Pederson, is a Law Enforcement Officer for the Park Service in the Upper Peninsula region. Her case involved several occurrences of dead and missing hikers in the area.; Annie searching for leads while dealing with the emotional aftermath of her young daughter's kidnapping by her then estranged sister, Sarah. It is a suspenseful story, and I did enjoy it the more I read. All in all, Break of Day is a satisfying read. I received an ARC from NetGalley, in no way did that impact my review. 3.5 Stars.

This is the final installment of a trilogy that really should all be read in order (I unfortunately didn’t follow this advice!) I found this book to be a bit confused - the romance is sweet, the action scenes were brutal, and there are heavy Christian themes. The suspense felt very extreme in the context of the rest of the book. Annie is an interesting and likable character, and the location is really well done. Perhaps if I’d read the books in order I’d have different feelings as maybe the crescendo of the suspense would have felt more complete. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.
