Omg this book... I really was feeling it. like I feel like I was being stalked because omg... I knew what emotions were on that moment and I am someone who is not very emotional but wow.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press for providing me with an eARC of this book. Unfortunately, it was not for me.
This was a cute second chance romance with diversity representation. I enjoyed the characters, and felt that sensitive topics were handled with care and depth, while still remaining in the romantic category. It was a great read for something simultaneously light hearted with some added depth of real humanity.
I have a hard time eating this book because it’s cute but not swoon worthy for me. I loved getting to know the characters and the banter between liyah and Daniel but it just didn’t give me any crazy emotions I normally feel when reading. There was no outwardly giggle moments of cutest overload or anything along those lines for me.
*I received a free ARC from Netgalley*
Cute second chance enemies to lovers debut. Heavy on the representation of all kinds which is amazing but some times it made me feel like I wasn’t the target audience for the book. Still liked it
I wasn't sure I would enjoy this one, but I liked it a lot. I can't wait to read book 2. This author brings the emotion into these characters and you can feel everything these characters went through. I'm excited to read more from this author in the future.
Fabulously Jewish! I was so excited to hear that Rachel is writing spin offs about side characters from this book, too.
I liked this opposites attract romance and they had good chemistry. I liked the writing and I do look forward to more from Rachel!
My favorite thing about the book was the representation provided by the main characters and that's literally where the book starts. It's not a hidden part of the story or just something the author threw in last minute. The identities of these characters are deep and present throughout the story. A fantastic debut!
This is a great book. Liyah and Daniel met 14 years ago at summer camp, but when they left they were not exactly friends. So when they see each other when they are adults there is a lot of tension and animosity, mainly coming from Liyah. When they have to work together on a project for work, they have to find a way to get over whatever happened in the past in order to make the time they have to spend together, tolerable.
There are so many great characters in this book. The author does a great job brining the Jewish faith into the story without overwhelming you. Normally I like the stories to take off a little faster but this enemies to lovers, slow burn romance was wonderful and I didn't want it to end.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me to read this for free in exchange for an honest review.
This was a sweet little romance. I love a good friends to lovers storyline and a good enemies to lovers storyline, so I was intrigued when I saw Thank You for Sharing combined the two. Daniel and Liyah were one close friends until a falling out 14 years ago, now forced to work with one another they need to try and resolve past hurts and maybe even mend their broken friendship. I really enjoyed these two characters and wanted to see them in their happy endings, and enjoyable romance to read.
Really enjoyed this story! I adored how the FMC was the grumpy one of this book! The MMC was so patient and understanding of her rants or discrepancies and it was nice. David really won my heart! I absolutely adored him! I laughed so much in this one and found it easy to read.
I loved the blend of their two shared Jewish heritage and seeing how their lives were more similar than they originally thought. The romance was slower but I liked how they were friends and really hit to know each other before they began to take things further.
I would highly recommend this one to my grumpy/sunshine lovers and those who like slow burn romances! Thanks for the ARC of this book! I look forward to more stories from this author.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
All the tropes - I loved it!
This book was a pleasant surprise. You can say this a second chance/enemies to lovers romance novel with the lead characters Daniel Rosenberg and Liyah Cohen-Jackson’s met at camp as children, and have reconnected. While this a romance, what makes this book great is its diversity, the lead characters are Jews of Color, lgbtq inclusive and the writer's approach to the sexual trauma and grief of the main characters.
Really cute summer read. Enjoyable, easy to read, good plot. Definitely recommend. I will look for more from this author in the future!
Unfortunately I have tried to read and review this novel multiple times. I keep getting to about 15-20% and just want to put it down. I don’t feel appropriate rating due to not getting far enough in to form an opinion. I just don’t think it’s for me! My apologies!
This was a very good book. I enjoyed reading it. The characters and plot kept me interested. I would read another book by this author.
This was a very sweet story that I thoroughly enjoyed, but there were a few aspects that left me wanting more.
First, Liyah, while a very complex and interesting character, was INSUFFERABLE at times. She has previous trauma that is discussed in the book, and she does try at times to work through it herself. But she is kind of mean to Daniel the entire book? Not so mean that it made me not want them together, but enough that I was thinking if I were Daniel... I'd feel insulted and like she actually secretly hates me. I'm glad that her best friend, Neen (who is an amazing character but almost seems TOO perfect and sensible) calls her out on her BS at the end and holds her accountable.
Second, there were just some points that sort of dragged for me. I'm not quite sure what could be done to make them any better, so I wouldn't name this as a reason to not pick up the book, as some styles of writing just work better for me.
Overall though, there were enjoyable character, some emotional maturity (yes there is a third act break-up that could and should have been avoided, but don't all romance books have that?), and a sensible background plot beyond just romance. I'd say this one is worth your time if you're so inclined!
I love books with representation, especially when the representation is done well, but this book seemed to be reaching for every single representation, and I was constantly losing focus on the story. I ended up DNFing at 25%.
This is the first book I’ve read with BIPOC Jewish rep and opening that conversation on intersectionality was very interesting! Can I be part of a Daniel and Liyah sandwich? Their chemistry was palpable and once the romance commenced I was so enamored by how soft and simultaneously sexy it was. P.S. I need in on this friend group.
