I haven't read the first two books in this collection but I overall enjoyed this one. I'm not sure it's a poetry book I'll go back to, but there were several poems that resonated with me. And the art inside was lovely.

I do struggle a bit with a book of poetry written for women by a man, but I know this is intended as a tribute.

HER III by Pierre Alex Jeanty is a powerful and poignant collection of poems that celebrates the resilience of women. As the final piece in the HER series, this book is a perfect conclusion to a trilogy that has captured the hearts and minds of readers around the world.

The poems in HER III are a reflection of the joys and sorrows of relationships, the beauty and complexity of human emotions, and the challenges of self-discovery. With his words, Pierre Alex Jeanty creates a safe space for women to explore their insecurities, heal their heartbreak, and find the confidence to love themselves unconditionally.

The author's writing is raw and honest, and his words have the power to move readers to tears or fill them with hope and inspiration. Each poem is a reminder of the strength that lies within every woman and the importance of self-love and acceptance in our lives.

HER III is a beautiful tribute to women everywhere and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Whether you are just starting on your journey of self-discovery or have already found your inner strength, this collection of poems is a must-read.

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC! The book is a simple and I really liked the first book. This one didn't hit like the first one did. It just felt like a man was trying to validate what it is to be a women. It was fine (I guess).

Mmmmmmm I've read from this author before and surprisingly, I would say I did enjoy a few of the collections.

mixed collection for me, some poems very strgon and connective, and others not so strong for me. I will try some of their other stuff.

The book is easy to understand and enjoyable to read, yet it does not have the sense of poetry. More than anything, it read like advice for males on how to handle women and a description of female nature. In all likelihood, it is based on the poet's life, yet the work seemed incomplete. It seemed like there was no way for me to connect with it.

I really enjoyed HER I and II, and was hoping for another wonderful book of poetry with HER III. It was just okay for me.

I felt like some of the poems were repetitive. They were saying the same thing with a handful of different words. I felt that this set of poems was less impactful and meaningful that volumes I and II. To me, III was something someone with low self-esteem would read to feel better about themselves, where as I and II were more about women's empowerment and why women are wonderful.

That is not to say that there weren't some really good poems in this set. There were, absolutely. I just didn't feel it the whole way through like I did with the others.

Either way, Jeanty is obviously wonderful with words. Making a powerful point in a few sentences is difficult, but Jeanty seems to have it mastered. I don't want to discourage anyone from reading this book because maybe I was not the intended audience this time around. Like I said, I think Jeanty has a way with words and creates beautiful poetry, I just had a hard time connecting with this set. 3 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed both volume 1 and 2 of HER, so was ecstatic to have received an ARC of volume 3. I love the simplicity of the writing, and how validating and affirming his works are. The book starts with a disclosure reminding the reader that this isn't a man trying to mansplain womanhood, but rather a man sharing his observations. I found a lot of it was positive and highlighted the many seasons of a woman's life. I find it funny how each time I reach for a new volume of HER, it seems to come to me at just the right season where I can really relate to the works. But with volume 3, I especially loved that it wasn't just me who I felt these works represented. Instead, I could identify my mom, my best friend, my sister and so many fierce women in my own life. Once again, an excellent collection of works I plan to revist over and over again. Truly, these are beautiful, empowering and darn right, fierce.

I had read a little by this writer on Instagram. I found them interesting. This one's nice too but it doesn't read like poetry. That doesn't mean it's bad, it's entertaining, insightful, and really good but it's not for me. Thank you netgalley for the review copy.

I'm so thankful to have received digital access to HER III by Pierre Alex Jeanty leading up to its publication date of April 4, 2023. I thought this piece of literary fiction, translated at that, was so well done and I can't wait to run to my feed to see what my fellow readers think of this work of art. I am so thankful to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing additionally for the bookish love.

Her third volume of poetry introduced the subjects of self-love, intimacy, relationships, friendship, communication, and even made passing mentions of depression. Despite liking the book, I didn't find it to be as enjoyable as I had anticipated.

there are some beautiful lines and poems that resonate, but the overall tone of the book is not that. I also just genuinely don’t understand what half of the poems are supposed to mean

the men the author speaks to are incompetent and undeserving of a woman based on the poems aimed toward them. the poems written for women are reassuring an insecure woman, but every poem about “her” is about a confident intelligent woman. every description of love also reads as unhealthy relationships. and I don’t love the poem about her “refusing” to give in to depression (or a similar sentiment). that is quite literally not how it works

It feels like something got lost here and the result is this book of platitudinal poetry that unfortunately couldn’t hold my interest, and I found myself constantly checking to see if I was close to being through. . As cool as the concept of this collection sounds, the poetry lacks substance. I don’t have an expectation of profound writing in every single poem, I don’t even expect to like or understand every single poem in a collection like this, but this just never delivered anything.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC of this book, provided in exchange for an honest review.

If I’m being completely honest, I found this book very difficult to read. Although the author gave a disclaimer in the beginning, it was difficult to not view it as condescending. Maybe it should be marketed to men? Appreciate the opportunity to read it.

I have been a fan of Alex on his Instagram since before he published his first volume of HER. I really like seeing people's growth on books. On some reviews they talked about him being a man and his disclaimer at the beginning. I think some may have misconstrued what he was saying and should take with a grain of salt that he's speaking to partners of women but also women who have been in these situations, which I can identify with. If you're a fan of his work I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I see a lot of Pierre Alex Jeanty's work on social media, and I've always been intrigued by it. His poetry reminds me of R. H. Sin's poetry style, which I also enjoy. I blasted through this one, and am looking forward to reading HER and HER II.
