A story of three daughters who are left the family home when the parents move to France. It follows their lives, the fall out of the parents decision and where everyone's lives lead.

This was my first time reading a book from the author but I am delighted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading more books from the writer in the future

A heartwarming, uplifting and hilarious story about three sisters who are completely different and how they are brought together. It's witty and charming.

Sisters Poppy, Saffron, Rosemary, and Sorrel, all in their twenties, have left home and are pursuing different careers. Their hippyish parents decide to move permanently to France and to transfer the deeds to the family home to their daughters unconditionally, thus causing havoc among their girls. Their respective life stories and thoughts about each other are all told in the first person and in many mixed up small puzzle pieces which makes for rather tedious reading, especially as there is no discernible plot to this book.

There were four main characters in this story and I must say it took me a long time to start to distinguish between them. Actually, those were the last few chapters where I finally knew which sister I'm reading about and what's her story. They felt the same, to be honest. They were not strong enough to carry this story. They were flat and their personalities and stories were not interesting enough for me to want to keep reading. I've actually put this book away for few long weeks and didn't miss it.

I don' think it was "the most hilarious book about messy sisters". First of all, it was not hilarious. It was somehow sad. Because, and it's secondly, the sisters were not messy. Messy for me is also funny. And they were not. They simply had too many issues to deal with, things that they kept for themselves, secrets, problems with past. It's not messy. It's sad and gloomy and depressing - and for me the whole book felt like this. The issue with the parents was so annoying, to be honest, and they appeared on the pages when it was comfortable for the plot.

Nevertheless, it was a light and easy read about family relationships, with a heartwarming and predictable ending. 3 stars, as I'm feeling generous today.

Growing up with a sister this book was so relatable! It’s always interesting to read about how people navigate life and relationships and this book was such a good easy read, lighthearted and relatable with some serious issues thrown in and portrayed well. Really really enjoyed this one, will definitely read another Amy Lavelle!

This was a slow burn book and the main character was a little annoying but I did enjoy the ending just took a but of effort to get there

This seemed to be one of those books where the characters annoy you so much you end up losing interest. At least that was how it was for me. I just about got over the herby names but unfortunately their behaviour was equally tedious.
I was sometimes amused by them against my better judgement but overall a disappointing read for me.

I will admit that I was worried about this book 50 pages in. The characters were grating and the style was worrying but I am so glad that I persevered. This was overall a fun book that made me think. I came to like the characters and will be looking for more from this author in time.

This book surprised me. After a few chapters in (each one from a different sisters pov) I thought that I wasn’t going to finish, I didn’t think I could identify with the characters or see the plot, however I’m pleased I stayed with it as it built and built and I found more and more to identify with. Saffron who felt it was her job to be the peacekeeper, Rosemary who just wanted to feel loved, Poppy who felt she had to support everyone and Sorrel who was the baby of the family and expected to mess up.
It was Sorrel's story that drew me in, I could see her character growing as she tried to break free from her allotted persona and be a mother to her baby. I could also identify with the other sister, feeling abandoned when your parents leave you behind, wanting to ensure no one else feels like that but in the process totally losing sight of what makes you happy. But through it all they found strength in each other and in various friends and partners that helped lift them up and shone a light on how wonderful they are as an individual. The parents Grace and Thatcher really annoyed me, I don’t feel their part was explored enough as to why they did what they did, but maybe that’s a story for another time.

Poppy, Saffron, Rosemary, and Sorrel may be sisters, but they couldn't be more different. When they inherit their family home, the four must make the decision whether to sell it or keep it. Can they put their differences aside and find a way to move forward together?

I found the characters acted very spoilt and juvenile. The writing did not help with this, and at times, I found myself rolling my eyes at the way these sisters dealt with their differences.

The plot felt a bit predictable, and I knew what the ending would be before I got to it. However, there were funny and cringe-worthy moments. It was hard to find a balance with how I felt about things as they unfolded.

That all being said, it was an easy read with a heartwarming ending.

Thanks to Orion and Netgalley for an early review copy in return for an honest review. This was my first book by this author and safe to say it won't be the last - an enjoyable read about 4 sisters and their relationships within the group and out of it. I found this an interesting look into the 'roles' that siblings take and perhaps more accurately feel obliged to take. Some funny moments as well as serious ones, I would recommend this book.

Not for me at all after four chapters reading about four spoilt overgrown school girls moaning about nothing I had enough thanks for the ARC but couldn’t keep reading it was boring me to tears and annoying me. Maybe it would get better but I didn’t want to risk wasting my time.

I love novels abt sisters and the dynamic they have.. I don’t have any so it’s fun to live vicariously through stories. Very excited to read Poppy, Saffron, Rosemary and Sorrells story and will be sharing more soon.
