Definitely steamer than I expected (not a bad thing) but this wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the story or the characters.

I tried hard to give it a chance but found myself daydreaming and having to constantly restart. The writing was not my style and the storyline didn’t capture my attention.

This one was not for me which is such a shame because the plot summery really drew me in. Unfortunately, I just could not get over how crude and overly sexualized the writing was- it was literally getting annoying because it was getting in the way of actual plot. I kind of see this as a marketing failure more than a failure on the author's part because the summery gave very little indication that this is the direction the book will be taking and from the author's perspective she does not hold back. So I'm not really sure why the book wasn't marketed that way. I do think this book's audience is out there but they aren't really given the indication that this is for them from the summery. I also found the writing style to be a bit odd- considering how much of this book is the inner thoughts of the characters it was such a strange choice for this to be written in 3rd person POV. I also, didn't love the narration but I can't tell if that because of the strange POV choice or it just made it more blatant. It did get better as the book progressed so maybe it was just taking me a while to get used to the strange POV situation.

Breaking All The Rules is a dual 3rd person POV, small town, he falls first, age gap (FMC 35, MC 25) steamy HEA romance. Yes there are some extremely STEAMY SCENES!

I really enjoyed this book! Bea was such a fun character, down on her luck and finally just living her life. Austin was HOT! Yes, he was younger that Bea but he was very mature for his age and knew what he wanted. He was also 25 years old, things would have been so much different if he was like 18. The chemistry is out of this world, the banter was fabulous and I was left laughing so many times.

The only thing I wasn’t fond of was how the age gap was CONSTANTLY brought up. Bea was really hung up on it and after the first couple of times it was brought up I was over it lol. Also side note this book was based in a small town, Credence, Colorado, and it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to not think about Credence by Penelope Douglas everything Credence was said lol.

I received an audiobook version of the book and really enjoyed it! Mia Barron did an excellent job, I will always have a preference for two narrators for dual POV books, but Mia did a great job!

I wanted to love this one. And there were some really good elements in it that I enjoyed liked the small town setting and the reverse age gap. But in the end I didn't love it and didn't hate it, I was just a bit meh about it. I listened to the audiobook version and the narration was good but overall there were parts that didn't hold my attention.

I did learn a valuable life lesson reading this book though. I have clearly been eating pie wrong. With the number of times pies and orgasims were mentioned in the same sentence, I feel I need to revisit my technique 😆

A fun story with good characters.
But the amount of times the age gap is mentioned was a bit too much.
And her choice over the city job was very unbelievable for me.

I absolutely adored this audiobook! Narration was excellent and the characters were so easy to fall in love with! I will highly recommend this to everyone I know!

Firstly, this cover is so misleading - it looks very women's fiction to me, and this book while has themes of strength and growth for Bea, is a romance. WITH SPICE. Which I was highly delighted by. However, the fun of the beginning of this book and the relationship for Bea and Cooper got hell frustrating hella fast when the relationship is a complete lack of communication/ definition of the relationship. It was very frustrating, and then the third-act breakup was just....not something I enjoyed.

But will her old life manage to steal her away?

I thought this was overall just an average read. Easy enough to listen to however nothing to write home about.

What I like

-giving up the hustle and bustle of city life.

Some parts I thought were just ridiculous such as- asking to be put in a jail cell, really? Not believable.

I just kind of feel meh about the whole thing. Finished this book a week ago and am having trouble recalling any specific details. This tells me that the plot and characters were not memorable.

I really enjoy the perspective of the main character but I feel like this book takes a lot of time to develop scenes that should be pretty straightforward. This book was good but not great.

Breaking All the Rules by Amy Andrews. Being my first Amy Andrews book and judging the book by the cover. I thought I was getting myself into a nice fun rom-com. It was defiantly a rom-com don't get me wrong but with way more spice than I anticipated. I am not complaining at all. This was a great story written very well.
I enjoyed the storyline about Beatrice and her art. Art is a powerful force just like the love we find out in this story. Beatrice Archer is a woman who worked her butt off her entire career thinking that is what she wanted. Now in her mid-30s, she starts breaking all the rules that she has lived by. Which landed her in the small town of Credence Colorado where she meets the lovable hunk of Austin Cooper. The love between Beatrice Archer and Austin Cooper is just so sweet and powerful that neither one of them can fight it off. Now I must read more of Amy Andrew's books.

I had a little trouble maintaining interest in this title. There was nothing wrong with the writing or story, really. It was just a little boring. And that's weird, especially when the characters are trying to be anything but.

I LOVED Beatrice!! I loved following her journey through tossing society’s standards and expectations in the garbage with her breakfast beer cans and her empty pie tins. She is who I want to be when I grow up. I didn’t care for Austin; he had some issues to deal with and I don’t feel like he was the right character for B, but I really enjoyed B’s growth.

I had a bit of a hard time getting in to the story at first, but I stuck it out and it was well worth it. If you like small town, reverse age gap, hot cop love interest.. this one is for you! Great character development, great banter, and heartwarming moments (and other warming moments, too, ha! Great spice). Great narration too.

This was a cute rom-com! It wasn’t my favorite overall; there was definitely some cringey dialogue. I almost wished it chose the first ending before the last few chapters, it felt much more realistic to me. However, the ending that happened wasn’t bad! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

Sexy, witty, funny, and hello hot small town cop! This was fun to listen to and I enjoyed every second. I like the reverse age gap. Keep breaking all the rules!
