This was such a twisty and turn-y read and there were so many layers before the truth. There were also loose ends left over, which I would like to either pursue or have answers to (the money?????? Iykyk). Sienna was infuriating for literally 99% of this book, and Julia was almost as bad except at least she seemed to have a reason why I was that Sienna STEAMROLLS HER EVERY TIME SHE SPEAKS.
I actually didn’t see the ending coming until about the same time the ladies realized it, and tbh I’m still suspicious about Jason because… without spoiling anything, that’s a big fall to take, dude.
Once again, I was invested despite not actually liking most of the main characters, which is how you know the plot was good!
Loved this book. Amazing story. Great plot that kept you guessing. Well developed characters. Excellent read.
I really enjoyed this book. The plot was well-constructed, the characters multi-dimensional, and their complicated feelings were entirely relatable. Julia and Sienna complement each other in life, and telling the story through their parallel perspectives was a great way to drive the plot forward.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review! I would absolutely read more of this author's work.
Thank you Netgalley & Atria Books for an eARC of Thicker Than Water by Megan Collins!
Knowing the premise of this book had me push it to the very top of my TBR. I love something that explores relationship dynamics and this one does just that - What an interesting plot for the story. Two sister-in-laws find themselves at odds when the man that connects them (the brother of one and husband of the other) is accused of the most brutal of crimes. Julia and Sienna are as close as SILs could be - Not only are they close friends, but business partners.
This book is described as a thriller, but I'd go into this one with more of the idea that it's a suspenseful, twisty read with some gruesome elements. Wildly entertaining, I honestly couldn't put this book down. Megan is known for writing books that have been described as "moody and atmospheric" and this one absolutely delivers on that expectation. The tension was high throughout the read, and I found myself torn between the two women.
An enjoyable read my Megan Collins and as always, I am looking forward to her next piece of work.

Thank you to NetGalley and atria books for this ARC! Wow, this was a great domestic thriller. So many red herrings and what ifs that leave you guessing until the very end! I read Thicker Than Water in one sitting and I loved it. This thriller hit on some points that most thrillers don’t and that was really awesome to read! Highly recommend to anyone who loves whodunit murders.
I've got to say that I was gripped immediately by this novel from the first few pages. I loved the relationship between the two women and seeing the changes it went through all throughout this book. I enjoyed this much more than Collins' The Family Plot and can't wait to see what they come out with next!

Thicker than Water is about best friends Julia and Sienna who are also sisters in law. Jason is Julia’s husband and Siennas brother whose boss is murdered. As news of the murder is coming to light, Jason is in a car crash that leaves him in a coma. The police find evidence that Jason could be involved but it’s up to Julia and Sienna to prove his innocence while he’s incapable. The secrets they uncover about Jason’s life not only threaten Julia’s marriage but Julia and Siennas friendship as well. How well do they really know Jason and is he capable of murder?
Normally I don’t have any issues with book characters but something about these two really just didn’t work for me. They’re best friends but also keeping secrets from each other so my mind was like “JUST TELL HERl” through most of the first half. The ending wasn’t that shocking for me but i did find myself hurrying through pages, anxious to see what would happen next. It wasn’t my favorite book but it wasn’t bad.
Thicker Than Water” by Megan Collins is a domestic psychological thriller that captivated me from the first chapter!
Julia and Jason married young upon finding out they were pregnant with their now teenage son, Aiden. Jason’s sister, Sienna, becomes Julia’s devoted best friend and they open their own business together. When Jason’s boss is brutally murdered, and Jason ends up in an accident a few days later, the police are convinced Jason is guilty. With Jason unable to share his story due to being in a medically induced coma, Julia and Sienna begin to dive into an investigation of their own to find answers. We find that everyone has a secret, some more damaging than others.
The character development in this book is exceptional! I loved when Julia began to find her voice and speak up for herself! Thanks so much to publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!
I really wanted to love this book but it fell short for me in the suspense aspect. That being said the story plot was new and refreshing which I enjoyed.
How well do you really know the people we are closest to and what they are capable of? What would it take for you to believe someone you thought could do no wrong had betrayed you? How far would you go to prove their innocence?
If you are looking for a slower pace suspense book this is for you! Thank you Atria Books and NetGalley for this ARC in return for an honest review!!

All hail the queen of family secrets, for she has proven yet again why she is queen.
As someone incredibly close to my sister in law, this one really hit home for me. What would I do if my husband was accused of murder? Of a very heinous murder? Thicker Than Water takes us on a journey that most of us find unimaginable. How far does blind faith in your loved one really take you in the end?
Do not sleep on this book.
I’ve read every book written by this badass author and I say this every time but I love Collins!
Her books always hook me. They excite me. They keep me up all night reading.
Thicker Than Water by Megan Collins kept me engaged from start to finish.
I loved it! It's so well written, with sharply observed characters and the kind of fast-paced, twisty plot that keeps you turning the pages..
The characters just come alive on the pages of this novel. It’s so much fun.
The twists and turns were executed very effectively; I was definitely wanting this book to last a little bit longer.
To say this book is suspenseful is to put it mildly.. From beginning to end, the intrigue kept building and building.
I’ll read anything she writes because I know it’s going to be one wild ride.

This book was okay. The end did surprise me. I did not enjoy one of the main characters, Serena. Her personality was just not my type. The book overall was decent.
I just finished Thicker Than Water and this book was a nice slow burn for me. It mostly detailed a bond between the two lead characters. My favorite part was the deep friendship between these two, the wife and the sister of the main suspect who is in a coma throughout the book. Their relationship was detailed very thoroughly and it was extremely believable.
I was hoping for a bigger twist, something to really knock my socks off but the ending was not as twisty as other Megan Collins books I have read. Also, not quite as dark which I appreciated about this book. I am giving this a solid 3.5 stars because I loved the lead females but wanted more of a “wow” ending. Thank you NetGalley for the arc!!
3.75 ⭐️ Very fast paced and enjoyable. I really liked the dual POVs and enjoyed Sienna’s journey the most. Jason wasn’t super likeable but maybe that was the point? Overall a fun read!
Thank you for a preview of this thriller. It tells the story of 2 sisters in law, Julia and Sienna who are connected by family and business. The plot revolves around asking how well you know the people you love and that are in your life everyday? Lots of secrets in this page turner. I enjoyed it overall.
This is the fourth book I have completely enjoyed reading by Megan Collins. This story revolves and around a murder, a man in a coma who may or may not be the killer and two women connected to him. It is full of mystery, and family turmoil. Megan always does an excellent job developing her characters with individual personalities that make it easy for the reader to keep them apart.
I was trapped on the first page and found this one hard to set down. The story is fast moving and leave one wondering "how well do we really know those that we love."
Excellent thrilling ride.
Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books and Megan Collins for the advanced e-book in exchange for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
Thicker Than Water by Megan Collins, asks the question how much do you really know or trust the people you love? The characters in this story all seem to have secrets they were keeping from their love ones, this was a good read that kept me guessing. Thank you Netgalley for this Arc.
I'll admit I struggled with these characters. Sienna was very unlikeable to me. Her absolute refusal to be able to see individuals as human (both good and bad) versus as just one thing got under my skin deeply. She did have nice development across the story line and by the end, she had really grown on me. Julia was also a struggle but same thing, great development and by the end I was really rooting for her!
This was so good. I Thad ne on the edge of my seat biting my nails cause I had to know what happened next. This has to be on your TBR!!
I just reviewed Thicker Than Water by Megan Collins. #NetGalley
