I enjoy Elin Hilderbrand's stories and I enjoyed this one, too. A great, easy, summer read.
Hollis Shaw returns to full time living on Nantucket after the death of her husband. Dealing with her grief, she takes an idea of a five star weekend -- inviting four friends, from four various areas of her life to a gourmet weekend of fun and friendship....and secrets! Oh the secrets!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a digital, temporary ARC in return for my review.

Thank you, NetGalley and Little, Brown for this ARC.
Elin Hilderbrand strikes again! What a treat this story was! I absolutely devoured it. Characters came to life in their own ways and felt well-rounded. The food-blogger element really worked for me and the vivid descriptions of culinary creations made the story all the more intoxicating. Hilderbrand's signature Nantucket setting serves as the perfect backdrop for this engaging account of the complexities of friendship, marriage, and love.
The title doesn't overpromise - 5 Stars, indeed.

After her husband dies unexpectedly, Hollis is struggling. On the outside, she's an influencer with a big following, but her daughter won't talk to her and she's reeling after her husband's death. So she decides to gather four friends (each from a different stage in her life) to spend the weekend at her home in Nantucket and her daughter joins them to film the festivities. Each friend is dealing with a big life event, from a concerning medical situation to being canceled for a controversial opinion. The weekend changes them in unexpected ways.

Hilderbrand is back with another page turner for Summer reading featuring her favorite location, Nantucket.
Hollis’s husband is tragically killed in a car crash one winter morning. Months later, in order to lift her spirits, she decides to invite four of her best friends from each stage of her life to her Nantucket home. Her daughter is also invited to film the occasion for her hugely popular social media account. Some of the women know each other as rivals, some don’t know each other at all and what follows opens Hollis’s eyes to a different perspective on her life.
A fast read that’s full of beautiful characters and a second chance romance. I especially loved the relationship of Hollis and her daughter, Caroline. Her daughter’s insight into her mother as an adult develops as the filming of the weekend progresses. Hollis’s marriage and her perfect life are exposed for their true reality. The characters are likable and grow into stronger women as the book progresses.
Readers of previous Hilderbrand novels will recognize some of the recurring characters. Full of recognizable Nantucket locations, you will feel like you’ve had a summer escape when you read Five Star Weekend. Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the opportunity to review this title before its release.

The Five-Star Weekend - Mini Review ⬇️⭐️
ARC - Pub Date June 13
How does Elin create book perfection time after time? As usual this story pulls you in, you fall in love with the characters and you don’t want it to end 😊
I highly recommend this book and think it should be at the top of everyone’s summer reading list 💙
Thank you @netgalley @littlebrown and @elinhilderbrand for this amazing ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It’s hard to find enough good things to say about Elin Hilderbrand’s book. Loved reading this and exploring the women and friendships, along with more of Nantucket. Waiting for her next one.

Summary: After the sudden loss of her husband, blogger Hollis Shaw gathers up four different women that influenced her during different stages of life. They all meet at her picture perfect home on Nantucket for a once in a lifetime girls weekend. Hollis is hoping for a weekend of discovery but ends up with so much more.
Thoughts: Intoxicating. That’s the best word I could think of to describe this book. I was hooked from the very first page.
Elin Hilderbrand has this unique talent of immersing you so completely in the scenes of her books. It’s always such a refreshing escape to the exclusive streets of Nantucket when I’m reading a novel of hers.
The cast of characters in this one just had so much to offer, as did the story itself. There were so many secrets and challenges getting worked through. There were also so many moments where I couldn’t stand some of the characters but it makes their development by the end that much sweeter.
This is a quintessential beach read and perfect for anyone who wants to get lost in the pages of a juicy story this summer.

This really made me want to visit Nantucket. The description of the island, scenery, Hollis’ house, the food…it all made the story and the characters seem so real, like I was following a recognizable “influencer” or “blogger.” I really loved the storyline of how Hungry with Hollis started because so many “famous” people on the internet did start during the pandemic and I’m sure found the recognition hard to deal with just as Hollis’ family felt. I enjoyed the story and the characters and the way they (and their friendships) developed throughout the book. I’d highly recommend this as your first summer read of the season. Thank you to @netgalley and @littlebrown for the advanced copy of this book!

Fans of this author will love this new book about female friendships. I enjoyed this book which was a break from my usual genre of thrillers and horrors.

Almost Five Stars for a Five Star Weekend.
Elin Hilderbrand does it again. I've been a huge Elin Hilderbrand fan since I found the Blue Bistro in a bookstore on vacation 20+ years ago. I enjoy most of her book and the escape to Nantucket that she provides. I've read so many of her books that it almost feels like I've shopped for fresh produce at Bartlett's farm, strolled Federal Street, or had drinks at the Chicken Box. Her writing and vivid descriptions of Nantucket are a mini virtual vacation.
Five Star Weekend follows Hollis and five of her best friends from various points in her life and her daughter as they grieve the sudden loss of Hollis's husband. She brings her 5 BFFs to Nantucket for a Five Star Weekend that no one will forget. Each friend arrives with their baggage, and the book has different viewpoints. We get to know these women and some of their backstories. I was still left wanting to know a little bit more about Brooke, and her story felt like it came to a sudden point without any context. It almost felt like it was thrown in there to add some "diversity."
This brings to me what didn't work for me about this book. The addition of Dru-Ann as the Black friend felt forced and unrealistic, like just throwing a Black person in the book with no context or reality of the being a Black woman. She was undisguisable from any other women except for a line here or there ( like wanting to Pledge Alpha Kappa Alpha, a Black sorority when they don't even participate in Rush). I'd instead just read about seven white women than a token Black girl added.
I also wasn't a big fan of how the point of view switched from person to person to narrator(?). She has done this in previous books, but for some reason, in this one, it felt odd ( I think there were a lot more POVs). Aside from the tokenism, I enjoyed this book overall and the story. Although it still feels like there are some holes in the story ( What was the Brooke/ Electra story, what happened to Charlie). Overall this was a good beach read, and I enjoyed it.

The Five-Star Weekend - it doesn't feel like Summer until you read an Elin Hilderbrand novel!
Rating: 3.5 star
Genre: Fiction
Thoughts: I think Elin Hilderbrand is a go-to summer author. Her books always make me feel like Summer.
This book follows Hollis, as the main character, after tragedy strikes. She decides to have a five-star weekend, where she invites a best friend from each stage of her life to her home for a weekend!
If you enjoy women's fiction type novels, I think you would enjoy this one.
My all-time favorite books from Elin will always be the Winter Street series, the Paradise series, and 28 Summers, but all of her books are always fun to pick up!

14% through the book, there is a typo.
It says "After you wedding, I had hoped never to see Dru-Ann ever again."
As always, Elin's summer books are delicious & fantastic to read. I stayed captivated & interested, but don't agree with Gigi's ending. These books always make me want to visit Nantucket and drink champagne.
I'm so thankful to have gotten a change to read this ARC - thank you for keeping my weekend entertaining! Cheers!

Have I ever rated an Elin book lower than 5/5? I genuinely don’t think so 🤣🙈 I love all of her books so incredibly much! This one was especially fun, following five dynamically different women on a weekend in Nantucket, each with their own baggage and reasons for going. I loved the social commentary (something that Elin does exceptionally) and the focus on female friendship 🥰🏖️ such a treat! Somehow, Elin always pulls me in and doesn’t let me go until the last page, and I cannot wait for you all to meet Hollis and this incredible cast in June!

It’s hard to say anything new about Elin. I made sure to save this one for when I was actively sitting on a beach somewhere warm and I’m so happy I did. I started Five-Star Weekend the morning and stayed up late finishing it the same night. There is no reason for this not to be on your summer reading list. Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Elin Hilderbrand will always been the queen of the beach book for me, and her newest read, The Five Star Weekend, was no exception. This one tells the story of six very unique women coming together for a special weekend in Nantucket. Hollis, a recently widowed internet food star, decides to invite four of her friends to the island for a fun-filled bonding weekend. Each friend comes from a different point in Hollis’ life – from childhood to current day. Along with her daughter, Caroline, the lives, struggles, and triumphs of these women are all interwoven throughout the story. In true Hilderbrand fashion, I couldn’t put it down – the plot was fantastic, and then she adds in her trademark descriptions of the island, its food, and the homes.
The Five Star Weekend was a five star read from me, and if you’re a fan, you’ll want to go ahead and preorder this one for release on June 13.
Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
5/5 stars - @lucywrazor4

Another stunning and captivating read by the Queen of beach reads. This will definitely be one of THE books of the summer.
Blurb: Hollis Shaw’s life seems picture-perfect. She’s the creator of the popular food blog Hungry with Hollis and is married to Matthew, a dreamy heart surgeon. After tragedy strikes, to help her heal she decides to host her own “Five-Star Weekend” with four of her friends, each from a different phase of her life.
This was everything I have come to know and love of Hilderbrand. An engaging story of grief, friendships, love, and resilience. I was here for every bit of the delicious drama! So much personal drama and so many secrets it will make your head 🤯. But in the best way possible. I loved it, and could not put down no matter how much I tried to pace myself. The characters were all so well crafted, and the development of each was oustanding. The descriptions of the delicious food and wine had my mouth watering. I couldn’t help but imagine my own Five-Star weekend as I was reading. 😊
As with every book of Elin’s I read, I finish and instantly want to plan a trip to Nantucket. Some day I will make it happen!
What I Loved;
⭐️ Nantucket Setting
⭐️ Amazing Cast of Characters
⭐️ Mother/Daughter Relationship
⭐️ Second Chance Romance
⭐️ Past Character Cameos

A huge thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. I honestly loved it so much.

Another easy escape read from Elin Hilderbrand. This is exactly what I want when I pick up her books. I loved the premise of this book. Hollis is a successful food blogger. Following the unexpected death of her husband she invites four friends, one from each formative phase of her life, to her home in Nantucket for a Five-Star Weekend, to help her heal and move forward. Ok, first of all, I want a Five-Star Weekend! Or maybe I just want to be a part of Hollis’s weekend. Regardless, Hilderbrand does this to me every time…I also want to work at a hotel on the island, run an inn on the island at Christmas time, come from a multigenerational Nantucket family, get married on the island… For any Hilderbrand fan, this one will not disappoint!

I loved this book. Couldn’t put it down because I was so enthralled in the characters and their stories. Hollis/Holy was so relatable to me. I think we all have that one young love. I cried tears of joy when Tatum got her results. I was team Dru-Ann the whole time. She was so brave and such a boss! I think the epilogue was just so sweet to me. Loved how it all wrapped up.

Getting to read a new book by Elin Hilderbrand feels like a vacation every summer! I was so excited to get to read an early copy of The Five-Star Weekend on our trip to the beach this week--thanks so much to Netgalley, Little, Brown and the author for the librarian preview copy!
In this latest page-turner, Hollis Shaw, a popular food-blogger, is trying to get her life back on track after her husband dies in a car accident. She invites four of her friends for a weekend to remember in Nantucket that will be documented by her film-school daughter and highlighted on Instagram. I enjoyed reading each woman's backstory, and vicariously drooling over all of the descriptions of luxury and gourmet meals on Nantucket. A fun and quick escapist read for the summer!

Hollis Shaw is internet famous, but that doesn't shield her from the devastation of her husband's tragic death in a car accident shortly before Christmas. She is inspired to host a "five-star weekend," inviting four friends from different phases of her life: her childhood friend, Tatum; college roommate Dru-Ann; mom-friend Brooke; and Gigi, an online friend she's never met in person.
While the weekend on Nantucket may be Instagram-perfect (and recorded for posterity by Hollis's budding filmmaker daughter, Caroline), tensions boil under the surface and simmer to the top. Each woman is either hiding something or escaping from something, with the elegant, gracious Gigi keeping the most damning secret of all.
Elin Hilderbrand has a huge fanbase, but I haven't loved all of her books. This one was impossible to put down, though, with the women (aside from mainly being rich and fabulously successful) were relatable. And I do appreciate books featuring 50+ women. Fans of Elin Hilderbrand will love this novel, but those who are not so devoted will enjoy it, too. #FiveStarWeekend #NetGalley
