A tight quartet of friends.
But on one terrible night secrets are divulged that forever alter their relationships and their lives.
I figured out half of the secrets but the author sprung a few more on me throughout the narrative.
It’s a sordid read and I relished every page!

A huge thanks to Bookouture for my complimentary copy and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is my first Shannon Hollinger story and I cannot wait to read more of her books. The book follows four childhood friends that have a slumber party . During that night one of them dies meaning one or all of them is a killer. Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead and that secret comes to light throwing a town into despair. The twists, the turns and the plot was brilliantly executed. Loved it and I want everyone to read it.

The Slumber Party by Shannon Hollinger is a great psychological thriller. This book keeps you guessing throughout the whole book.
This story is about four friends who grew up together. The story is a duo timeline which consists of present day and 15 years ago. The girls were the best of friends when they were in high school, secrets and time have kept them apart for the past 15 years. Now their secret is coming into the light and things start to go awry.
This book is a fast easy read that you don't want to put down. I would highly recommend to all .

A Fast paced mystery about a group of friends and the secrets they have carried with them.

The story is told with a dual timeline, which I loved, and multiple povs. Hollinger’s writing kept me engaged in the story and I liked that she kept it simple making for a easy page turner. I did get a little confused sometimes having to go back to the start of the chapter. Even by the end of the book I was still confused about one thing.

Overall the story kept me engaged l. I enjoyed it and definitely recommend. Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture, and Hollinger for allowing me to read an arc, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Zoomed through this book in 2 days. Very well written with unexpected twist. The story of a group of girls who grow up to share a deadly secret. But as with all secrets, it is impossible to keep forever.

We go back ten years - four girls its prom nite, also the 18th birthday of two abd
everyone is in high spirits. The mood changes swiftly, the buoyancy goes, some
become morose, the attraction of their dance partners wanes, and the unthinkable
happens.

Fast forward ten years, every one of the four young women have something to hide, the
fissures appear fast and with it fear, that the secrets they held is unravelling
before their eyes.

The story was an intimate one of growing up in dysfunctional families and though
appearing damage free, the cracks and emotional distress lie just below the surface.
How parents supposed to be primary care givers, protectors of children fail in their
duties. you wonder whether they are blind or pretend a problem does not exist or that
communication is no longer possible with a willful teenager with angst aplenty.
Is it that parentsg get selfish too, thinking that their own chances of a life are
slipping away when the responsibilities of children overwhelm one.
These were the thoughts which came to me, whilst I read this story maybe nothing
what the author intended.

A murder had happened, kept secret by four girls and now it was forced into the open
by a persistent Detective, who knew that the key lay with the girls.

Good story, dark though.

The story is about four friends that had the perfect friendship until it wasn’t. It touches on how sometimes the most healthy looking relationships are the most toxic and how people who care deeply for each other can tear each other apart.

One friend dead. The other hold the secret for years until it is forced out. Danger is around every corner and it isn’t who you think it is.

What a tangled web of lies!
So many layers to this story!
A story about childhood friendships, secrets and love.
The story is told from the different perspectives of each character. It also goes back and forth in time from childhood to adulthood. I would get a bit confused at times as to who I was reading about and have to go back to the beginning of that chapter to see who it was.
The Slumber Party is definitely a fast paced thriller. I was kept guessing up to the very end of the story.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book.
Although It was a fast read with short chapters, I found I couldn't connect fully with any of the characters from the start. There was lots going on with the chapters switching from then to now and alternating between the four friends.
I felt lost in the story trying to keep track of who was who..
The second half of the story was much better than the first half where the story seemed to finally come together.

Four estranged best friends and the secret that binds them.

With drama, twists and secrets on secrets to be revealed, The Slumber Party is fast-paced story that will captivate readers looking to ease into the thriller genre. Told through multiple POVs and in dual timelines, the book quickly establishes the characters and the events that led to their estrangement.

Hollinger's writing is simplistic in the best way - it doesn't over complicate what the story is trying to do and it makes it an easy page turner. The downside of this? There wasn't enough suspense and some of the reveals came a bit too early for me. I also had trouble connecting to these characters but honestly, this may just be down to me. Because I didn't find them likeable though, I struggled to care what happened to them when shit started hitting the fan.

Though this wasn't a hit for me, it was still an easy read and I think there is definitely an audience for this: namely new thriller readers who will enjoy the pacing, twists and reveals.

Would happily read another book by this author.

This book just was not it for me. I truly struggled to get thru this one. It was rather boring
It's about a group of friends that harbor so many secrets for years. It all catches up with them years later.
I wanted to love this book but it just couldn't hold my interest very well.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's fast paced and the story had potential.
However I'd guessed one of the biggest reveals quite early on, and the multiple POV alongside the dual timeline (which I tend to enjoy) in this case became a little repetitive and muddled at times in my opinion.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc ebook.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy of this book.

I enjoyed this fast paced mystery. There were some good twists and a couple of red herrings. But nothing that I didn't see coming.

My major issue is the characters voices. Three of the characters have chapters in the present and in the past when they were teenagers and they sounded exactly the same, you couldn't tell the difference between the time period. Also they were all in the first person so often it was hard to tell them apart. Without spoilers, I know this was the point for a couple of characters.

This was a good read and would recommend.

I'll never stop loving books with multiple POVs and timelines. Hollinger did a fantastic job at letting the voices of the characters shine and grow throughout - that can be hard to do with so many perspective shifts. I

This is a really interesting story, with well-balanced characters. The writing is engaging, and does a fantastic job at portraying the way relationships grow, shift and change as we get older.
There are unexpected twists and turns throughout, which are kept fast paced by relatively short chapters. The ending was unexpected, but did feel a little rushed - although with the pacing of the rest of the book that wasn't a surprise.

I was engaged throughout and would recommend this to anyone who likes a quick, real page turner.

I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. I loved everything about this book. The cover, the characters. The ending was amazing. I didn’t see it coming at all. 100% recommended

I’m a sucker for a story of friendships that start from our early years into adulthood. I have this and I am truly grateful for it and The Slumber Party showcased this type of relationship beautifully. Sadly, tragedy splits the group up and we are left to wonder what caused such closeness to become non-existent. I loved how we get to read the story from the POV’s of the girls, both back when they were younger and now.

Good characters, good plot, some darkness thrown in with a lot of love, and overall a really good read. A good amount of twists to keep you from guessing outright how it will end.

Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the ARC

Each one of the main characters had it’s good side and it’s bad side (some more than the others), and that made them feel so real. I personally adore Mo, eventhough other readers may disagree with me. But there is something about te way she was written that made me feel so sympathetic towards her..
The story is told from different points of view, set in different moments of the girls libes, which made the story more gripping because you´re constatly wondering what is going to happened next.
The book is filled with twists. Some of them made my jaw dropped, but some others were predictable.

I think this is a great story to read if you are stuggling with a reading slump, or if you are looking for a cozy read.

Liz, Sammy, Amy and Moe were the best of friends through middle school and high school but things they did to each other and other others would soon pull them apart. This book is toll from so many different POV‘s that it took me 1/3 of the book to know what girl belong to what kind of family but it is so worth getting to that part. If you love the authors first book Best Friends Forever then you are definitely in for a treat with The Slumber Party i’m sure others will do a great job writing a summary for this book but as they have so many moving parts I cannot. So just know if you love great thrillers and secret coming out and much much more the new love this book. I received this book from NetGalley and Bookoucher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
