Real and relevant, Managing Your Emojis acknowledges the reality that kids face some big realties and those big realities can cause some big emotions. The authors not only counsel kids to turn to God with those emotions, but they also equip them with the vocabulary to describe what they’re feeling and offer practical tools to help them manage what they’re feeling. I highly recommend!

"Looking for devotionals enjoyed by girls (ages 7 and 11) isn't always easy, but I can trust that those written by Michelle Nietert and Lynn Cowell are stellar. I love the format of this book—each section begins with "Meditation Matters" and advises Bible verses to ponder when processing four different emotions: sad, scared, mad, and happy. The devotionals are well written and I enjoy the "Embracing" sections that encourage discussion and application. I'm giving this book five confetti emojis with huge happy faces!"

Managing Your Emojis is an amazing resource for families! It would also make a great gift, a resource for ministry, and as part of a homeschool curriculum. I love the "Embracing" sections, which help us apply Scripture to our lives in applicable ways. Parents need positive Christian resources for the journey, and this is a must-read to keep on hand. It's not a one-and-done book. It's a tool that can be used over and over again. So many golden nuggets. For example, Michelle shares how she asked her daughter to do something, and based on her daughter's reaction, she was prompted to as her daughter what her daughter heard her say. Such a teachable moment! So important to have clear communication and apply God's word of truth in our everyday lives and interactions. Lynn also shares amazing personal stories and encouragement. The book talks about meditating on God's word as well. Meditation might at first seem like a foreign concept, but the purpose and value of meditating on God's word and promises, and training our minds to do so, is something we could all use help in doing consistently. Don't miss this book! We can give our sad, mad, and all our emotions to God, knowing He understands and has all the answers we need.

Such a cute devotional for teens/middle schoolers! These authors know what they speak of and have found a way to connect with the audience who needs to hear it's message. I would recommend it to anyone who works with young people.

I was an early reader, thanks to the publisher. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a review.

I really love Managing Your Emojis by Michelle Nietert and Lynn Cowell. Geared toward pre-teen and teen, Managing Your Emojis is a devotional with writing prompts and a prayer, teaching the reader how to deal with their emotions from a Biblical perspective. Managing Your Emojis could not have come at a better time. I am working at Church Camp and the theme of one of the camps has to do with Emojis/Emotions. I glean a lot from the devotional to help me prepare for camp. I plan on telling everyone I know about Managing Your Emojis and that they should get a copy. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

Managing your Emojis is a fun and heartfelt guidebook for today's kids navigating the confusing emotions that often plague and cripple their adult counterparts. With heartfelt anecdotes and positive coping skills taught throughout, this book could be used as a wonderful tool to teach your child how to manage (and not be held hostage by) his or her emotions.

Although this seems to be geared more towards middle graders, and not necessarily the ages of my own children, I used a few meltdown coping techniques for frustrating piano practice and scriptures for nightmares in our house and it was really helpful. I felt more empowered as a parent and better prepared for those moments and I was only reading the book through, NOT using it as a journal/workbook as it is meant to be used.

I loved that there were also individual scriptures for each of the prompts so everything to help my child having a difficult time was literally right there, on the page, practically spoon fed for me to apply its principles.

This book can equip parents with the vocabulary and tools to teach children of any age how to work through difficult times and emotions and is a great addition to anyone's parenting book arsenal.

Managing your emojis is a good book for kids, it will help them manage the emotions in their lives and hopefully understand what they are feeling and be able to put it into words.
It has scripture to back it up as well!

With all the emotions teenagers go through, buying this devotional for them should be mandatory! The devotions are short yet each one is like having a one-on-one meeting with a Christian counselor. A situation is presented that is totally relatable to a teenager's life. Then a practical way to handle that emotion is kindly suggested. There is also a prayer and verse that can be quoted when dealing with an emotion that is troubling the teenager. I thought the writing was easy to follow and appropriate for the age it was written. I especially like how the author always directed the reader to the Lord for the comfort, support or direction they were needing. You could definitely give this as a gift to any teenager you know!
