Let me tell y’all about the custest most adorable rom-com!! I breezed through this book not wanting it to end. The book has dual point of view and loved being able to hear what each of the main characters were thinking.

Brief summary: Chloe is a “fancy chef” who has decided she wants to start making her own choices in life. She packs up what she has left and leaves her long term boyfriend since childhood and her life in New York to start over. Her new to her truck decides to die in a small town called Fantasie. We then meet Lucas who at first seems like a grumpy but full of himself guy. He falls head over heels in love with Chloe. the story follows these two characters through life and adventures in small town Fantasie.

I loved both Chloe and Lucas’ characters and thought they were both well written. The small town atmosphere was perfect. The book does include tacos and a little bit of spice.

This was a quick & cute read!

Chloe Brown is new to town & wanting to open a food truck. It’s an enemies to lovers trope featuring Lucas Donovan.

It was a slowwwww burn. Quite a bit slower than I would’ve preferred to the point where it dragged in some areas. Super interesting characters, though, but a lot of times I was yearning for more Chloe & Lucas versus the town drama.

There was also quite a bit of banter between Chloe & Lucas, with Chloe coming off rather annoying. I was very fond of Lucas’s character though.

Side note, I love love loved Josie’s character so much!! A sequel with Josie would be amazing.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

This book was just genuine fun to read!

The characters are so likeable and interesting, the town is just awesome how they all pull together. The romance is a bit rushed - the whole timeline is like 2 or 3 weeks....but whooo what a story! I'd love to see a series, there are some other budding romances in Fantasie that need to be played out!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a digital, temporary ARC in return for my review.

Overall Rating - 3.5 ⭐

This book was a slow-burn romance with enough spice to keep me reading. I enjoyed to banter between Chloe and Lucas... It was really good. I liked seeing Chole grow as an individual... But the amount of apologies... Yesh... Just a bit too much for me.

Chloe was damaged, hurt, maybe even emotionally abused depending on how you look at it, and Lucas just took this all in stride and did what her could to prove that she deserved better... Gah... Could we ask for a better man?

I fell head-over-heels for Lucas... I read the book because of him!

Taco Bout Love is a fun book with secondary character's I fell in love with. The main character, Chloe Brown, ends up in Fantasie, Maine, where she meets Lucas Donovan, and the banter begins. Fantasie is a quirky town with residents that add so much to the story, with their love for each other, and their need to always meddle. Chloe shows up in a beat up purple truck with big dreams, and ends up with a dilemma, to stay or move on. Is she cut out for small town life?

Fancy a delectable, super cute & spicy read.. then Taco Bout Love could be it. I devoured this book in a couple of hours and am not a single bit sorry about it.

Can we celebrate the awesomeness that is this book:
-small town vibes
-dual PoV
-lust at first sight BUT slow burn
-spice, spice, spice with a dash of humour
-no damsel in distress - Chloe was all about being a badass heroine who was saving herself
-LUCAS DONOVAN *swoons*
-secondary characters (I need the next book to be about Josie!! Or Noah... mmm)
-all the food references... never have I ever been so hungry after reading a book!

And what a release date - valentine's day?! Cute!

Now to wait to see if the next book will be all about Josie and that grumpy cop, Finn.

A huge thank you to NetGally, LK Publishing and the author, Lily Kate, for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Ahh, this cute little food inspired book was super fun. Honestly, food should be incorporated into books way more because it's always fun when it is! I loved the taco truck setting and banter. Fun read!

3.75 ⭐️ Taco bout lovely! This book was a gentle hug on a rainy day.

Admittedly, the relationship between Chloe and Lucas - the FMC and MMC of the story - was a bit rushed, but I’ve never been an insta-love hater, and I’m not going to start today.

Premise:
Chloe makes it to Fantasie, a lovely little town in Maine, aboard a barely functioning truck, a million pounds of baggage and a dream of starting over new… with desert tacos! As a New York City chef, she had a life that had left her scared and scared to trust again. Cue Lucas Donovan: sexy, tall, dark, handsome, and only lawyer in all of Fantasie… who happens to have a very convenient empty reserved parking spot when Chloe’s truck finally gives in and pretty much decides to die right there and then.

Review:
This book was so good! Like a warm, cozy drink under a blanket when your day’s been godawful – and yes, I know I keep making metaphors about the weather, but I’m trying to convey a feeling here! Lucas was a wonderful MMC, a mix of gentle, careful and possessive that I know people are going to love. Chloe was great too, strong yet vulnerable and honest, but I think the Lucas stood out to me more. This book's Dual POV small town romance with forced proximity that brings so much fluff, but also so many steamy moments - and it all make this an overall great read.

There are a couple of things that didn’t work for me personally, like the three week time-jump or the pretty sudden emotional realization at the end… I felt like there were many feelings, but very little exploration or actual time together of the MCs on page. Everything was told instead of shown, and that is a problem for me. Also, not a problem about the story, but about the cover: the FMC’s hair is bleach blonde, almost white, as described by Lucas in the book. I hate it when covers are not accurate to the books they’re representing!

Still, I would definitely recommend this book to all small town romance fans!

Oh my goodness, this was totally a perfection!
It had everything I wanted from a romance in a cute little bundle.
I loveeed the small town aspect, i loved our couple’s chemistry, and i loved the spice! The writing was perfect for my liking.
The title and cover is insanely cute and it did not disappoint, it is soo easy to read in a couple hours even if you are not a fast reader.
Make sure you check the couple content warnings just to be safe.

It has become one of my favorite romances of the year very easily, I can’t wait to read author’s different works!
Highly recommend this book!

Think the title is cheesey? It totally is, and I loved that the characters even reference the dad-joke level of the name. It's actually Chloe Brown's new business idea: a taco truck, cheesey name and all.
She drives into a small town in Maine looking for a fresh start in her truck she needs to refurbish to start her new business after leaving Manhattan and the restaurant that she helped build from the ground up. She's trying to find herself and be the independent, self assured person she feels like she might actually be inside. What she tries to figure out through the book is how to balance independence with having a loving support system.
The other POV is Lucas, the small town's Mr. Responsible who helps anyone with anything including pro bono legal services when he deems it necessary. He's the oldest brother and cousin of one of the main extended families in town and makes sure everyone in his family is taken care of while managing the family Law Firm as its CEO. He's so used to taking care of the community around him that it takes him a moment to realize that Chloe is the dream he wants for himself after starting off on the wrong foot.
It's a fun, spicy, sexy RomCom that made me swoon.
*CW* there are a lot of discussions and allusions to domestic violence, so be aware of that.

This book was really cute I loved the small town vibe (where almost literally everyone is related 😂). Lucas was supposed to be this big grump but wasn’t grumpy for that long that it just didn’t really fit to have it as a part of the story I feel like, but Im also just not a fan of that troupe in general but he was a sweetheart. The romance did feel a little rushed towards the end, but overall I really enjoyed this book and really want dessert tacos now!!

A great start to a series. I cannot wait for the next novel!

This was a super fun and cute read. I love the grumpy/sunshine trope. Especially when the guy has a big heart and Lucas Donovan probably has one of the biggest hearts of all. I'm just not so sure how I feel about the drama at the end. It didn't match the flow of the rest of the novel. I still enjoyed the novel nevertheless.

***I would like to thank NetGalley, Lily Kate (the author), and LK Publishing for graciously sending me a copy of the novel to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.**

This was such a fun romance read! I loved the character of Chloe - she was so strong without even realizing it. Her recent past hurt but when she came to Fantasie she began to heal. A big part of that healing was thanks to Lucas. This story has an awesome array of fun characters, a cute storyline, and unexpected events that kept you turning the pages.

Chloe and Lucas have a lust at first sight thing going on. Chloe Brown is an Ohio girl turned New Yorker who catches the eye of small town grumpy lawyer, Lucas Donovan when she rolls into town in her purple truck that is falling apart.

This is well written but I just couldn’t get past the character inconsistencies. First, no Ohio girl turned chef (even if she was living in New York) dresses the way Chloe does upon arrival to Maine. She would be way more sensible than that. Especially with her back story. Her character arc is all over the place.

The slow burn really left me feeling like the book dragged. I just needed something to happen instead of the will they won’t they. It was hard to remain interested.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

Came for the delightful pun, left swooning over an awesome book! The story follows Chloe Brown, a city girl who moves to the small town of Fantasie, Maine with a beat up truck and little money to her name. The goal is to start over, which is easy to do in Fantasie when everyone is so welcoming and are all practically related. Chloe unfortunately meets the one unwelcoming person in Lucas Donovan when she parks her beat up truck in his parking spot. They are instantly vexxed by each other, and thus starts their slow burn romance.

The book follows their romance but Chloe's journey to find herself after a toxic relationship. She is finally putting herself first both in her work, her friendships, and her love life. We also get to see Lucas grow and fight for what he wants, he is a wonderful MMC.

This steamy book also has a bit of suspense, which I really enjoyed.

Taco Bout Love is a quick read that kept me engaged the whole time. This book showed me small town romances are becoming my favorite type of romance to read!!! You need to read it!!

My name is Lucas Donovan, and I’m a sucker for a great taco.

No, that’s not an innuendo, though I do like my women like I like my tacos: extra spicy. So when a brand new food truck rolls into our sleepy little town of Fantasie, Maine, I know I’m in trouble. I just don’t know how much trouble.

Things go downhill fast when I meet Chloe Brown, the sizzling hot and super sassy owner of Taco Bout Love who is as extra as guac. Then out of the blue, Chloe plops her huge purple eyesore of a truck in my designated parking spot. I’m sorely tempted to have her truck towed, and her right along with it.

Unfortunately, Chloe’s as fierce as a ghost pepper, and she’s not going down without a fight. Before I know it, the only thing I’m certain of is that this woman drives me crazy… in the best way possible. What’s more is that I’m beginning to think I just might miss her when she’s gone.

My thoughts:
Going into this story I thought it was going to be way more food related than it was. I just wouldn't call it a "foodie" book.

Other than that I really enjoyed the story. It was a quick fun read. Both Lucas and Chloe are stubborn and hard headed. I really loved Lucas's family. Especially his mother. I love small town romances and this one is another series I look forward to finishing.

I think it has a mix of slow burn and insta love going on. I'm not quite sure how to word it. The Hannah and Carl storyline was a little weird for me because it didn't seem like it fit the rest of the story unless it was somehow setting up another book in the series?

I can't wait to read more about the characters in Fantasie, Maine

My Thoughts ~ first I want to say I loved this book, why? Well first the setting takes place in a small down called Fantasie Maine, which grabbed my attention immediately as I'm also from Maine. I very much enjoyed the small town everyone knows everyone type of setting. The characters fit so well into the storyline. Chloe & Lucas are poplar opposites, because of that I feel like relationship works well, Lucas is a Grumpy sunshine, he's funny, sarcastic, caring dependable. Chloe is very stubborn and independent an well the opposite. There was plenty back story for what seemed like every character not just the main ones I loved that.
Additional Supporting characters contributed very well to the book I feel like I would very much enjoy another book expanding the story of one of the support characters.
(SIGN ME UP)
I feel the book was paced very well until about half way then i feel the relationship picks up super fast but I still very much loved it. We know im a sucker for dual pov's. It wasn't super spicy till over half way through, however it was steamy tension the whole way through. I felt like Chloe was a mystery that was unraveled more toward the end of the story I really wasn't expecting what I read.

Would I recommend this book?
YESSS uh YES just get it when it comes out lol 😆
I appreciate being sent an ebook copy to read thank you!
