I thought the book was a nice read but I didn’t love it. I thought the plot needed some work but overall not a bad book.
Let me preface this whole review by saying that I thought this book was cute. However, I do feel like it needed a lot of work. Neither Lucas nor Chloe felt like real people to me. Their love story felt very rushed, and the dialogue felt fake.
Chloe went from hating Lucas to wanting to be with him in what felt like a couple days, because there were time skips. There were multiple times that the book skilled forward and I kind of missed their relationship progressing. I would have rather it been shown how it progressed from the dislike stage to the falling in love stage. There was also a lot of talk about her ex and I didn’t really see the point in that. The SPICE though was wild!
I would love to read a spin off of Josie, the brothers, and the mom (can’t remember her name right now).
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!
I liked the cover and the title, I really thought I could and would enjoy this book but unfortunately, I found myself DNFing it. Taco Bout Love is not a slow burn and I didn't like Lucas who becomes possessive as soon as he meets Chloe.
Thankyou to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this ARC.
This is my first title by this author and i will be reading more from them in the future.
This was a very cute little story about romance and tacos! who doesnt love tacos?
I love cute rom coms with small town vibes as being from a very small town myself i love this vibe.
Plus everyone loves some spice don't they?
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute and spicy small town romance featuring tacos.
Thankyou.

This was a light fun rom-com! This is my first Lily Kate book and I'll definitely be checking out her backlist. Chloe got on my nerves a few times but I really enjoyed her and Lucas. I'm just not sure how I feel about their insta-love. It's got to be done just right or I'm not feeling it. I really enjoyed the town and the found family! The ending was a little abrupt but still satisfactory. I'll definitely read the next book!
Thank you Lily, Netgalley, and LK Publishing for my review e-copy!

This book is a grumpy/sunshine, small-town romance in which the FMC opens a dessert taco truck…. Is it much more than that, I’m not so sure. This is very insta-love, particularly from Lucas. Whereas, Chloe, can’t make up her mind about anything, while her actions simultaneously suggest that she has? Doesn’t know about staying in town (is starting a business in town), isn’t sure about Lucas (is living with Lucas).

Now, I was a chef for many years, so the whole chef part of Chloe felt unrealistic to me... The idea that the small town had changed her, so she finally got a different wardrobe from her black dress and heels from New York. I know I can find you some bad-ass line cooks from NYC who wear heels and dresses, but I also know that they own and wear other shoes because they work in kitchens!! Also, you won’t convince me that a dessert taco truck in a tiny town with no tourist population is a sustainable business model. I don’t think this facet would bother everyone as much, but it definitely took me out of the story’s believability a bit
This book was cheesy, and sweet. I want a bit more depth from the characters and a stronger plotline running through it. Lucas is all in, he’s down bad very quickly and he’s quite possessive. Just a lil cringe how fast their love story all happens.
I started to feel that this book dragged, mostly because it was pretty clear early along what the story would be. While it’s all fun and quite enjoyable, not a huge amount is happening. A good portion of this book is just about a woman who won’t admit to herself that she’s going to commit to anything. There isn’t a strong build towards a central plot point (even if the conflict is foreshadowed), it had a climax and a resolution, etc., but it happens quickly and hasn’t really got much to do with the characters. The main story centres around comfy, cute love. I can see it being a comforting read though.
There is definitely some spice in the middle, but that kinda fades at the end.
If you enjoy a fluffy small-town romance with quirky side characters, you will likely still have a good time with this one ☺️

I honestly love them all tropes but I have been really into Grumpy/Sunshine & Enemies to lovers. So this one absolutely hit the nail and gave me a little bit of both but mainly grumpy/sunshine vibes! Not to mention the small town setting!
Chloe had to leave her life in New York in order to rediscover her independence and finally get to live a dream just for herself starting in Fantasie. She definitely didn’t expect to find love in both the town and a grumpy hunk, Lucas! (Do people even use hunk anymore?)
I loved the dual narrative where we could see both sides of this growing relationship. Getting the behind the scenes of their thoughts and fears. I also loved the strong female friendship that was built between Chloe and Josie!
Thank you #Netgalley and publishers for the opportunity to read this book as an arc in exchange for my honest review!
First of all- how could you not enjoy tacos or love? Two of the world's most necessary things all wrapped up in the same title?! Come on, it was a no brainer!
Honestly, this book was fun, cute, and just what I needed. This is a small town romance, enemies to lovers story. Family plays a big role as well and it just pulls on your heart strings!! If you're looking for your next rom com, this should be it! Really hoping for a sequel or spin off about the other characters!

How it made me feel: This book had so much potential, but I struggled with how crass the MMC thought about the FMC every time. The story itself was cute, and I ended up enjoying it but not loving it.
I loved this cute Rom Com. I loved getting to know Chloe and her desire to get her own life back and stand on her own two feet. Josie was such a good friend and I sure hope that she gets her own story. Lily was an absolutely amazing Mother and example to me, her home/BnB is filled lots of love and a whole lot of food. I sure hope Lily Kate writes more in this world.
I loved reading this one. I just love this kind of books.
4 stars read for me. I love this author snd her writing style.
Thanks to netgally for this arc.
A cute-ish rom-com with romance, family, and tacos.
I wasn't sure about Lucas at first. And they definitely had some insta-love. But it happens.
Chloe isn't my favorite character. She seems wishy washy and not solid in her convictions. Who starts a business and then thinks maybe I'll leave.
I did like the small town atmosphere. And I adored Josie!
Many thansk to Netgalley and LK Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Small town romances are my absolute favourite and I loved the first chapters of this book. The weird townspeople and Chloe and Lucas meet cute fight over a parking spot. It was great! Chloe was so loveable and Lucas he had to grow on me BUT I didn’t expect this level of spice. I was a bit bored in the middle. But overall, it’s a charming read.
A absolute wonderful feel good romantic comedy that anyone who is a fan of the genre will fall in love with
This was a first time read for me by this author and it was a charming introduction for me to her writing. A light-hearted, cozy read for a lazy afternoon. Lucas and Chloe were lovely characters and worked well together and complemented each other well. Lucas was such a sweetheart and had such a big heart. I loved the small town feeling and how the town accepted Chloe and took her in and how they supported her.
This was a charming rom com with lovable characters and it was easy to get caught up in their story. I enjoyed it and am happy to have had the opportunity to read it.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Thank you Lk Publishing, Lily Kate, & Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was cute, a little heavy on the insta love but I enjoyed it
I would like to thank Netgalley and LK Publishing for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
An enjoyable small town romance. I’m excited for the rest of this series.
It was almost too spicy for me! Right from the get go there was spice and a lot of it. I like a little spice here and there. But it was a bit much for me. Lucas sounds like a douche in the beginning but he grew on me !
I loved this story of second chances - the main character made this story believable and this is something which drew me in. I read this in about 36 hours and could only put down for short periods as I needed to get back to it. The writing style was just my thing and even with it being predictable that you could work out which characters were going to get together it was really enjoyable.
this book was a lovely read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Chloe was a strong, determined and feisty female main character. Her journey and development through the book was fun and lovely to read. Lucas was very hot and a gorgeous male main character. I thoroughly enjoyed his journey too and their relationship was very cute! I loved the tension!! The dual perspective was engaging and enticing - I found it tricky to put down! The plot was also very sweet. However, I have a few cons. The first being, that I felt the storyline moved too quickly - it only seemed like the whole plot happen in a month or two! for me, it was too quick and I would have preferred more of a slow burn (yes there was, but maybe a tad more!) . Despite, liking Chloe, at times she was rather annoying and I found it tricky to tune her out when being a tad insufferable - yet I liked her character overall and felt the two mc’s were a perfect match and a lovely book overall! I would recommend to a fellow rom-com lover! Thank you netgalley for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
