I love tacos. Easily one of my favorites foods. So the word taco the title of a romcom? I was instantly in. When I started this one, the secondhand embarrassment I got was REAL for the first 2 chapters. Especially when a person is new to town and is sunshine against some grumpy men.
Not only was this storyline perfection, it had sooooo many great tropes! Small town. Enemies to lovers. Grumpy x sunshine. Forced proximity. He falls first. Found family for her. Just one big ass chefs kiss. AND that spice is oooof.
Chloe is new in town, leaving her life in NYC and looking for a fresh start: starting her own food truck. Making food and making people happy through food is her passion in life. She ends up in Fantasie, Maine - the perfect little small town. She ends up parking her truck / breaking down in a grumpy CEO’s parking space - enter Lucas Donovan, the grump but biggest cinnamon roll hero, town lawyer.
LOVE ME SOME DUAL POV. Right off the back we get enemies to lovers. And that sexual tension? 😮💨 And as we get to know and see the residents of Fantasie, brothers fight over her at first. Not only is the banter between FMC and MMC great, but the family banter is 😂 Always threatening each other with Grandma DiMaggio and I need to meet her if all 8 beefy men pale at her name. Like I truly hope that this series continues and follows all of the different men in the DiMaggio family because my heart would be SO happy.
This book was such a cute read and so fun too! It also helps that like the description says “it was extra spicy”! I really enjoyed this story and it was perfect for Valentine’s Day! Lily Kate has a really great way of writing that gets you giddy and chuckling as you go through it! Definitely recommend!
This was such a sweet read!
I just loved Lucas’ character! He may have seemed grouchy at first, but his heart was so big and he was such a “I’ll take care of you/protector type” that I quickly fell in love with his character! Chloe was a fiesty one! I loved how she wanted to do everything on her own and didn’t want anyone’s help, until she realized that sometime’s it’s okay to let others help you. They were both tough personalities so it was fun to see them come together romantically. I loved the spice in this! It seemed like Lucas had a hard on throughout half the book :P
I am very excited to see that this will be a series because I very much need more from the Donovan boys!
To be honest, I only glimpsed the cute cover and title before requesting TACO BOUT LOVE, but I'm so glad that I did! It was such a cute, heartwarming story and I loved the spicy scenes too.
*many thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy for review
This was absolutely adorable, I can’t wait for lily’s book! I was also thrilled that there was no third quarter breakup. I mean I know there was some other issues there, but it wasn’t a breakup lol. Would happily read this again.
Thank you to the Netgalley and the publisher, LK Publishing, for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy. This honest review was based off my experience reading this eARC, which in no way biased me. All opinions are my own.
Taco Bout Love has a gaggle of tropes: small town, forced proximity, mildly enemies to lovers, definitely opposites attract, the standard grumpy sunshine, you know the works.
This was a cute rom com, I loved the taco truck aspect. The writing and the plot was a bit all over the place but overall it was good, but I wish it had more substance. I don’t know what it is but it lacks something that packs the usual rom com punch.
Taco Bout Love is a beautifully written small-town romance with a cosy atmosphere and a main couple with lots of chemistry. I did find their romance to be very fast paced almost insta-love however I didn't mind this and found the couple really cute and I really liked reading about them falling in love. The premise was really unique and, as always, you can't go wrong with a strong female MC. Overall it was all very cute and a nice quick read, I would recommend for anyone wanting to read an adorable romance.
I think everyone needs a pretty, steamy and light romance for the weekend. This is one of them.
Lucas and Chloe…They were a perfect couple, they complemented each other perfectly and I cannot resist this story. This story was so cozy and adorable, I could help you feel better. Lucas was an excellent boyfriend. He was caring, he was gentle, but he gave her too much attention, which was like stalking her. The story is about a small-town romance that takes place in the small city Fantasie. I enjoy small-town romances because they are able to create a fantastic atmosphere of coziness. But there were some cons. This book was a little messy and their relationship developed super fast. It was simply an unreal thing and I had a feeling that I needed more information about their future. But I like the friendship in this book. Overall, this book was enjoyable, but not perfect, but I still enjoyed reading it.
This book!! The plot is so unique, the setting and small town trope followed so perfectly! The DiMaggio family have found family vibes, perfect and cozy.
I loved Chloe’s story, her background of past relationships and grief over death wasn’t too heavy and wasn’t unbelievable. The spiiiiceeee between Chloe and Lucas - the tension, touches and stares were to die for. I fell in love with Noah and Lucas instantly.
As soon as this comes out, it’s going on my to be read. We’ll call it a ‘work’ investment.
Chloes Journey to her new life starts in Fantasy and all she wants is starting her new business.
But Lukas has other plans with her.
A wonderful smalltown story with some very cute characteres.
only two months for this story and so many things happen here.
have fun reading!
Thank you Netgalley and LK Publishing for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.
Lucas and Chloe have just become my favorite softie couple. They’re nothing but perfect for each other.
Taco bout love is a small-town romance where the town’s lawyer and the chef girl who escaped from New York find the part they were missing.
I really liked this book, it was funny and serious in certain parts, there wasn’t unnecessary drama and the couple sustained each others in the decisions. I would really like to see more of them, maybe in the next book. 4,5⭐️
This was a cute small town romance
It had a lot of world building in this one because it seems to be aiming for a whole series in this town, but overall the characters were interesting, but a bit flat sometimes.
Thank you to NetGalley and LK Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review 💙

When Chloe Brown rolls into town in her dilapidated purple food truck, Lucas Donovan is left with all sorts of emotions. Irritated that she parked that junky truck in his space and fired when he saw Chloe step out.
Lucas is the small-town attorney and knows what he wants. Chloe is a recently separated chef trying to get her life back together. While the dynamic between the 2 is sweet, some of the relationship development felt drawn out.
Chloe's idea for a dessert taco truck is Adorable! The amp-up at the end was lovely, but I wish it had come out a little sooner.
Overall, this was a bright and fun romance that I immensely enjoyed!!
To be true I really like this one but I don’t what put me off it. It was very enjoyable with lots of spicy and over all a cute read. Thank you to NetGallery and the author for this advance reader copy!!
Chloe Brown was out to take back control of her life and independence. That took her to the little town of Fantasie, Maine. It was only supposed to be a few weeks to get her life together and fix up her purple truck, but of course plans change.
Enter Lucas Donovan. The town lawyer, the one who takes on a lot of responsibility and has a huge heart. When Chloe’s truck ends up in his parking spot, his world changes. Even though they don’t quite get off on the right foot, Lucas is drawn to Chloe in a way he never has been to anyone else. Eventually Chloe has to come to a decision on Fantasie, her food truck, and Lucas.
I really enjoyed this book and the characters. Between Lucas’ cousins, his mother, and just the town folk; I was entertained the whole time. I really connected with Chloe’s character because I’ve been there where your life feels off course and you’re just trying to take control again. Lucas is a sweet character who just wants everyone in his life safe and protected. It seems once your in Lucas’ inner circle, you are protected for life.
I adored this book with its ups and downs and even a twist I didn’t see coming! I’m looking forward to being in the town of Fantasie again with more books!
Overall, I’d probably give this book 3.75 stars. It’s not the worst romance novel I’ve read by any means, but I just wanted so much more out of this story. It was very slow to develop some things, and others felt very rushed. But I loved the little small-town setting. I love a good small-town romance 🤣
I think it was mostly just the writing style for me. It was an okay read. I may give the next book in the series a chance as I really did love Lily’s character! I really enjoyed the last half of Lucas and Chloe’s story, but it was just too all over the place for me.

3 stars! This was a really cute read. If you like small town romances, forced proximity and immediate mutual attraction you’ll probably have a lot of fun with this one. Reading it will also probably make you crave tacos though (at least it made me want tacos).
Chloe is new to the town of Fantasie, with nothing but skidmarks on her heart and a barely functioning taco truck, she sets out to start her life anew. Of course, she happens to park her truck in the parking space that belongs to the handsome and grumpy lawyer Lucas Donovan. Of course fate keeps pulling these two together and we get that sweet city girl x small town guy romance we’ve been craving.
The romance is pretty faced pace so you won’t have to wait long if you’re an impatient reader like I am. I do think the immediate attraction on both ends was a bit overstated. Every POV switch the other would think about how hot the other one was, and it got a little repetitive. There was also a time jump that skipped passed a lot of what could’ve been good development. Lastly, despite it being a fluffy rom-com, some heavy topics are depicted, including but not limited to: assault, unhealthy/abusive relationships, and miscarraige.
All in all, if you’re looking for a quick read and a guaranteed happily ever after, this will do quite nicely!
I absolutely LOVED this book! I don’t know how I’ve missed out on Lily Kate up until now, but I am beyond grateful I finally found her. She’s a fabulous writer who has a perfect grasp on writing lovable characters (both main and side) and engaging story lines. And I loved the tension while waiting to understand Chloe’s complete background. Taco Bout Love is fun, a little quirky, and heartfelt. Lily Kate takes us on a journey that’s the perfect balance between comfort (the things we’ve all come to know and love about romance) and surprises. I can’t wait to read her other books!
Chloe is new in town having escaped her old life in the city. She clashes with Lucas at their first meeting but will it be an enemies to lovers story for them.
Looking forward to more books from this author.
4 I’ll Never View Tacos the Same Again Stars!
I’m a sucker for a good insta-love story and Lily Kate delivers in her newest book. Chloe has just moved to Fantasie, Maine for a new start after leaving NYC completely and totally scarred at her last chef job. I admired her for taking this leap even if it wasn’t that well planned out… of course sometimes taking these leaps leads to the best parts of our life.
Lucas didn’t know what he was in for when Chloe’s food truck ends up in his parking space and can’t or won’t be moved any time soon. These two are so perfect for each other. Chloe not only carves out a new niche for herself but also becomes part of a found family that helps her believe in herself again.
With this new building confidence she can also see that the love Lucas is offering to her is something she can’t live without. He truly sees who she is, beautiful inside and out. Watching their love blossom while also having some laughs along the way brought a huge smile to my face. And their chemistry between the sheets… it’s electric!!
This was a wonderful way to spend the last da of my long holiday weekend.. I got to read a book that was fun and romantic by an author that is back on the scene which makes me so incredibly happy. I’m on board for anything Lily Kate gives us next!
