Beautiful reminder of God’s hand all around us. The imagery was beautiful. Love that it cycled through all the seasons and ways we can point out God in nature.
But ask the animals what they think-let them teach you;
let the birds tell you what's going on.
Put your ear to the earth-learn the basics.
Listen-the fish in the ocean will tell you their stories.
Isn't it clear that they all know and agree
That is sovereign, that he holds all things in his hand.
Every living soul, yes,
every breathing creature? Job 12:7-10.
Many connect to God thru nature. It is where we see his glory. This book for children and adults will share the glory of God in the changing of seasons. It is awe inspiring book. As Christians, we want our children to be awed by God. It shows his goodness and faithfulness. The illustrations are beautiful and the words remind of us of a creator.
A special thank you to Intervarsity Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Such a sweet story with a beautifully message and gorgeous illustrations. I love the inclusivity in the pictures. I did think it would be cuter if the story rhymed to be a bit catchier and attract the younger kiddos attention. I would definitely purchase this book for my own children or my nieces/nephews.
God, Right Here is a beautifully illustrated book for little ones. Reading it as an adult, it was a great reminder for me to always see God in nature and the changing seasons.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the advanced reading copy.
God, Right Here
4 Stars
God, Right Here is a picture book for kids with many teachable lessons. Such as rhyming, colors, the four seasons, and how the cycle starts over again. It's a fun, fast, and educational story about the changing seasons, with activities you can do for each season.
I loved the artist's use of color. They really made the illustrations pop off the page. I liked the gorgeous nature illustrations. Probably because I feel closer to God when I'm in nature. All in all, it's an awesome picture book. I love the teachable lessons and getting more use out of the book.
Thank you, NetGalley and InterVarsity Press, for an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Beautifully illustrated. Not a story but more of a seasonal journey for adults to share with the very young. American in flavour as indicated by fall instead of autumn. Would make a sweet baby or 1st birthday gift.
Great book for kids with many teachable lessons. Learning at a young age that God is always present throughout any season will be a helpful tool for any child as they get older and even into adulthood. The illustrations were both meaningful and beautiful.
God, Right Here is a lovely book about how God is ever present throughout the changing seasons. I liked the incorporation of various animals and plants, to show appreciation for nature's beauty.
A sweet, comforting book for children to know God is always with them no matter the season or where they might be. Art work was lovely! Great addition for a Christian school or program, and for any home that wanted to encourage their child to trust God’s presence.
This was such a cute read! With nice and bright pictures that any kid will enjoy. It's a lovely message of all the ways you can see God in the things around you.
Definitely recommend this one to all kids looking for their next read involving religion.
Thank you NetGalley and InterVarsity Press, IVP Kids for accepting my request to read and review God, Right Here.

A four season story with God, right here being everything seen or touched. The seasons are used for seeds, flowers, snow, and bees.
The whimsical illustrations leads to a fun conversation with a young child who may conversely choose something off the page for affirmation.
This would make a nice gift to a Sunday School class, or a child you know.
Beautiful! I always wonder about my children finding ways to connect to God. We often go on “scavenger hunts” to look for God in nature. This book is a perfect supplement to those hunts!
Thank you, InterVarsity Press, Kara Lawler, and Netgalley, for an ARC of this book.
My girls enjoyed this book. It focused on the seasons and how you can see God in all things. All in all, it was a nice book that we enjoyed with a great message.
This is a beautifully illustrated book. Perfect for teaching seasons and looking closer into each season. It is a gentle book about the idea of god within nature. This book despite it being centred around nature, as it includes the idea of God, it may be limited as this will be subjective to one’s owns belief system. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend it to all children. This would be an ideal topic resource within schools and to use as a learning tool for seasons. ,
Finding God in nature...
This book brings you through the seasons, teaching you about what each one brings. Although it changes, God stays the same.
What a great addition for a faith based home. I know a lot of kids starting kindergarten start to become interested in weather and the changing seasons. This book would be the perfect gift for them.
I will be adding this book to our library in hopes that my children can connect with God through all of his creation.
the Bible verse in the authors note was such a great addition. Job 12:7-10
God, right here.
God, right there.
God's handiwork is everywhere.
This is a delightful sweet book that kids will love. The inspiring message about the awesomeness of God's creation encourages kids to interact with the four seasons and discover the handiwork that God provides for their enjoyment.
The illustrations are beautiful and the illustrator includes a diverse array of characters even a child in a wheelchair which I really like. The inspiring text encourages kids to discover the wonderment of nature as it pertains to each unique season that God provides. This book will spark conversations about the presence of God that is all around us in the world. Share the book and celebrate God's goodness, creativity and omnipotance...everywhere! I love this charming book and I highly recommend it.
This is a beautiful gentle reminder that we all take things for granted.
This beautiful picture book reminds us that we need to appreciate the amazing things that we see around us, celebrate the nature and the home we have. Let’s feel blessed as blessed as we already are.
The artist is so good! Kudos!
Thank you, IVP Kids, for the advance reading copy.
The message that God is everywhere around us and in every season is clearly expressed in the text of the book. What I liked most about the book are the whimsical, gorgeous illustrations in Jennie Poh's recognizable style.
Beautiful illustrations! Well written. A great addition to any home library. Also great for church libraries.
Wow! The illustrations are lovely and will draw in children and adults alike. The writing itself is lacking for me... it felt far too simple/basic, without much imagination or whimsy... but the message is good, the book includes diversity amongst the children, and again -- the illustrations!
