I would give this book 2 stars out of 5.

I really just could not get into this book. There was a lack of description on the places Dylan and Jack went on during their trip. It was supposed to be this huge extravagant trip but I was left disappointed due to lack of details. There was only a chapter or 2 on some of the places before they had gone to another place. It just felt a bit rushed in that aspect.

The book did have great character development and I liked both Dylan and Jack so much. It was a cute rom-com book and it was a quick read for me.

Overall, it was just an OK book for me. I am looking forward to other books from this author in the future.

Thank you Net Galley and the publishers for this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley for an arc of Wanderlust in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.

Dubbed as People We Meet on Vacation meets The Unhoneymooners (HELLOOOOOOO – those 2 books are by my fave authors!) I knew by this alone that I HAD to read this.

This is a kind-of enemies to lovers story revolving around Dylan who wins a trip around the would from a radio station but the only catch is that a random person from her phone list has to accompany her. The person chosen was Jack, a guy that Dylan had one date with that wasn’t too great & then she ghosted him. This should be FUN, right?????

The animosity between the 2 MC is awesome. I LOL’d several times. As with this type of trope, we all know that things end up evening out and Dylan and Jack end up falling for each other. That’s NOT a spoiler – you KNOW it’s going to happen.

This book is well written. The pacing is great and the characters are fantastic with great chemistry. This was a super cute story that I absolutely loved!! If you’re in the mood for a cute rom-com to take your mind off heavier stuff, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up!

I rated it 4 Stars

Wanderlust

3.75 ⭐️

It’s been brutally cold this week and Wanderlust was the perfect way to pretend I was traveling around the world!

Dylan wins a trip around the world, but the catch is she has to take it with a random person in her phone. Jack and Dylan have very different personalities but it was wonderful watching them slowly grow together through this forced proximity.

I’m still not totally sure how I feel about the end resolution with their parents, but Dylan and Jack were so supportive of each other.

Thanks to @netgalley for this eARC. Check this one out this summer!

As a romance novel-obsessed person who also loves to travel, I enjoyed this book. It was cute, you became invested in the characters and their relationship and you wanted to keep reading to find out how it evolved. The only thing I would change is I would have liked if it went more into what happened the first night they met and spent more time on their interactions while traveling and little less on the scenery and surroundings in each location.

This book is a cute rom-com about two semi-strangers who are randomly paired together on a two-month trip. The main characters, Dylan and Jack, are polar opposites but as they spend more time together and get to know each other better, they start to see their similarities. The book covers serious topics like abortion, online bullying, and strained relationships with parents but balances these heavy themes with lighthearted moments and a developing romantic relationship between Dylan and Jack. The pacing of the book was a little odd and I would have liked to read more of their travel adventures. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book.

Thank you so much for this ARC!

I absolutely loved this story! I love escaping in a vacation story anyway, but add Dylan’s antics and Jack’s resistance to change and it was even better.

I’m always a fan of enemies to lovers and add in some forces proximity and sign me up!

I was hooked from the start of the story and the pace never slowed down. So glad I got a chance to read it!

Dylan Coughlan is ready for a vacation. When she randomly enters a radio competition that will take her on a two-month trip, Dylan is surprised to find out that she is the winner. She’s even more surprised to find out that the person she will be traveling with is going to be randomly picked out of her phone contacts. Enter Jack Hunton – a guy Dylan met once at a club that she ghosted. Dylan and Jack are polar opposites, but they are willing to make it work to go on this once-in-a-lifetime trip together. As they spend more time together, they start realizing they actually have a lot more in common than they originally thought.

Wanderlust is an opposites attract, forced proximity rom-com. However, the book also covers heavier topics like abortion, online bullying & harassment and strained relationships with parents. Dylan and Jack have their own way of dealing with these topics, but it was cute to see them support each other as they work towards solutions. Their relationship feels real and honest because they took the time to get to know each other without any judgement. I only wish there would have been an epilogue to the book because as it ends, it really feels like just the beginning of their story.

Dylan is an interesting main character. She’s strong, blunt, and carefree, but she is also sensitive. She knows exactly who she is, but she’s still learning how to get what she wants out of life, her career and her relationships. Towards the beginning of the book, she does feel a bit childish with how to treats and talks to Jack, but as they start to understand each other, she does grow as a character and soon becomes his biggest advocate.

I do wish the book was paced a little differently. Sometimes we got multiple chapters from one of their travel destinations while others took place on the last day of a destination. Dylan and Jack are on this extravagant trip, and I wish we could have read more of their adventures in these places.

This was a great debut novel, and I will definitely pick up Elle Everhart’s next book. Dylan and Jack were a cute couple and I appreciated the themes of still learning who you are, even in your late 20s/30s.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for giving me an ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

A sweet and charming, well-written rom-con about some almost-strangers thrown together for a trip around the world. Loved the detail about each locale and I loved the way their relationship grew.

This book made my heart so happy. Dylan and Jack have only met once but after winning a radio contest they're going to be seeing the world together for two months. Elle Everhart has such a beautiful writing style. I'm so surprised this is a debut novel! I will definitely be buying anything else she writes!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Wanderlust is a story that takes Dylan, a writer, on a trip around the world, accompanied by someone randomly chosen from the contacts in her phone. The lucky winner ends up being Jack, a man she had only spent a few hours with previously. What's the worst that could happen, right?

After navigating the initial awkwardness that comes from spending an extended amount of time with a virtual stranger, there was a real tenderness about Dylan and Jack's dynamic that developed. I appreciated how they championed each other's growth as both experienced major upheavals to their careers. A lot of the natural chemistry I would imagine they felt the first night they met came rushing back as their similarities and shared pain came to light. I had a fun time jetting around the world with them and enjoyed the representation as well (bi character, anxiety, panic attacks, etc.)

I did think there was a bit of a missed opportunity when it came to the actual descriptions of the locations Dylan and Jack travelled to. Based on the synopsis, I think I assumed that the imagery for places like Sydney and Marrakech would feel more vivid and lush. Instead, they only spent a chapter or two in some cities before they were already jumping on another flight.

In truth, I did nearly give Wanderlust 4 stars - but because I had hoped for more of a concrete conclusion and a some other elements, I landed on 3.5 stars instead.

Thank you to NetGalley, G.P Putnam's Sons and Elle Everhart for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! It was so much fun traveling around the world and watching this couple fall in love, but the story also continues so much heart and deals with some very real and traumatic issues. I laughed out loud, but I also got all teary at the end! Elle's voice is perfect and I can't wait to read more from her in the future!

Dylan and Jack couldn’t be more opposite. Dylan is a writer with a spontaneous, fun loving personality and Jack is a posh, uptight lawyer who doesn’t want to put himself out to the world. However, he’s thrust into the spotlight when Dylan wins a radio contest for a trip around the world. The only catch is that her travel partner will be chosen randomly by the radio station from her phone contacts. Jack doesn’t seem eager to go on the trip with her, but he reluctantly agrees. Will they be able to connect on the trip of a lifetime, or will they suffer in awkward silence?

I really enjoyed this sweet rom com that was full of surprising depth. The characters both dealt with challenging issues in both their past and present and were able to discuss them openly and honestly and without judgement. I liked that the author was able to add these important conversations into the story. In addition, I really loved the travel aspect of the book. They visited amazing destinations and I loved reading about them! Their relationship was definitely a slow burn, but it seemed realistic in the way it developed. I’d recommend this one to lovers of a slow burn romance, fans of travel, and those who enjoy a bit of substance to your romance reads!

Thank you to Elle Everhart, GP Putnam’s Sons, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I fully expected this book to be cute and it somehow ended up being cuter and also even more raw than I anticipated.

Dylan Coughlin’s dream job is draining the life out of her. Stuck in a rut and tired of feeling like she’ll never go anywhere, she chances a call for a radio contest and ends up winning a round-the-world trip of a lifetime…. With one catch: her travel companion will be randomly selected from her phone contacts.

Live on the radio, Dylan is matched up with a contact who she has no recollection of - until he reminds her (in front of the world) that they had hit it off on a night out, and then she never contacted him again.

Desperate to enjoy her trip in spite of the bone-crushing awkwardness of traveling with a “what if”, and even more desperate to prove to her boss that she can provide content engaging enough to snag her own column, Dylan is all-in. And while communicating with Jack is about as easy as pulling teeth, the two start to realize that there is much more to their missed connection than either of them originally realized.

But as Dylan’s travel journey takes off online, so does the amount of scrutiny she’s under - and with Jack having us own reasons for wanting privacy, and Dylan discovering the two have much more in common than she thought, they may be forced to recon with a lot more than just their uncomfortable reintroduction.
