Lots and lots of information in this book! Perhaps too much. It comes across as rather dry and academic, not the kind of book one picks up for a casual read. Would be a great asset for assigning chapters to an university class.

It's a good book if you are interested in restoration. Not a book to read from cover to cover but you can choose the different parts.

Full of information; almost too much at times. It's very detailed, but sometimes at the cost of coming across rather dry. This would be a good reference book/research book, but not one I'd recommend reading cover to cover.

I don’t know what I was expecting from this book, but sadly I found it utterly boring and gave up part way through, even though I normally love any books relating to history
