Thanks, NetGalley for the ARC!

I enjoyed this book and was super interested in the first 25% and then I felt there was a lag in the storyline and Jane obsessing over Thalia after almost ten years of not seeing one another seemed a bit much. It had a lot of similarities to the series You, which is what had me hooked at first. Jane gave off creepy vibes like Joe Goldberg but her obsession didn't feel like it was pushing the storyline forward. I will say right at 60% it picked back up and I couldn't put it down. The twist was not the one I saw coming; it was an excellent finish.

A struggling midlist writer whose novels barely command four figures, she feels trapped in an underwhelming marriage, just scraping by to pay a crippling Bay Area mortgage for a house--a life--she's never really wanted.

There's only ever been one person she cared about who truly understood her: Thalia. Jane's best and only friend nearly a decade ago during their Creative Writing days at Oxford. But then one night ruined everything. The blood-soaked night that should have bound Thalia to Jane forever but instead made her lose her completely. Thalia disappeared without a trace, and Jane has been unable to find her since.

Because there she is, her name at the top of the New York Times bestseller list. When she discovers a post from Thalia on her website about attending a book convention in New York City in a week--

She'll go to New York City, too, credit card bill be damned. And this time, she will do things right. Jane won't lose Thalia again.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion,
I just didn’t click with the voice of this author. It was difficult to make myself read it, sadly.
3 stars

This was a solid foray into the thriller genre, but wasn't blown away. The characters in the past should have been aged up a bit to be more realistic. The reveals made sense but weren't particularly surprising. I love when you don't want to root for any of the characters, but all three MCs had voices that were too similar and didn't have enough qualities/motivations to make you side with them even a little. It also seemed a little unrealistic that literally everyone fell Thalia's spell, and so easily. However, I did like the bouncing back and forth in the timeline, I REALLY liked the ending, and I liked bringing in the third MC to add another perspective to the story.

I desperately tried with this one. I returned to it multiple times to try and finish, but I just couldn’t. It’s another one of those books that tries to describe antipathy or ambivalence with repetition, with the descriptors “I know I should be feeling (this way) because normal people would feel (this way) but I don’t because I’m DiFfErEnT, and thus I just pretend!” Over and over and over again, forever. This book does not showing, only telling.

I didn't really click with the writing/voice of this thriller, so it was tough going some of the time. I think I've realized that 'evil/murderous' narrators of this particular flavor just don't work for me, so this is very much an "it's me, not the book" situation, and I know many others will adore it.

I've been a big fan of Jesse Q. Sutanto, both her ya and adult titles, so I was really excited to read her latest book. This title was a lot of fun, it has intrigue, suspense, unreliable narrator(s) and a twisty storyline all packed into one delicious story! I highly recommend i!.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this digital ARC.

Jane meets Thalia while traveling to Oxford for graduate school. They are both are taking creative writing classes and become best friends. During college, Jane becomes enthralled in Thalia's life and jealous of her boyfriend and their other friend, Ani. When Thaila's boyfriend is killed, Thalia disappears and doesn't talk to Jane again. After searching many years for Thalia, Jane sees that Thalia has written a best selling novel and will be in New York City, so she travels there with her husband, Ted. How will this meet up go after so many years?

I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET, had me intrigued from the start. Even though this was a slow burn novel, things really heated up in part three. I found myself having a hard time putting it down, while also thinking about it during reading breaks. What I loved the most was that it was so different than many of the thrillers that I've read lately. I would definitely recommend this one, if you're looking for something different.

Many thanks to Berkley for my #gifted copy.

A friendship between two woman, one the star and the other a follower, might not be so different from each other after all. An ironic style, that moved pretty quickly except for one section that wasn't as sharp as it had been. Cat and mouse, and add in some murder and it is a twisty thriller, that was overall an enjoyable read

A twisty psychological thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. This is my second book by this author and because I am old and stodgy I prefer her Vera Wang book to this one I sure hope she writes more in that genre.
Huge thanks to publisher and NetGalley!

I’M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET, by Jesse Q. Sutanto, is a twisty page turner of a story that kept me on the edge of my seat! I’ve been a fan of her light-hearted, humorous, cozy mysteries, and this psychological thriller hit all the right buttons to make me sit up and take notice. From the beginning, the author keeps the reader off balance with a flashback to one of the girls’ childhood, setting the stage for guessing which of the two friends is a psychopath. Told from alternating current day and Oxford creative writing college day timelines, the development of Jane and Thalia’s intense friendship drives the narrative. But how far will a best friend go to protect the other? What if it involves a dead body? What happens when the friendship turns toxic? As the story unfolded, the twists kept me guessing until the very end. Ms. Sutanto’s flawed yet mesmerizing characters kept the plot moving and kept me turning page after page to find out what happened next. I hope the author quickly pens more entertaining thrillers in addition to her cozy mysteries!

I was provided with an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jane is unhappy. Shes a struggling author barely scarping by, and her marriage is…underwhelming. She’s only ever cared about one person – Thalia. They were best friends at Oxford and then Thalia suddenly left, and Jane is left reeling.

One day, Jane sees Thalia’s name on the New York Times bestseller list and her book seems very familiar to her and Thalia’s friendship. Jane needs to see Thalia, and she’ll go to great lengths to get to her. She won’t lose her again.

This was such a fantastic book. I have enjoyed all the books I’ve read by this author – they are all fantastic and all uniquely different. This one was so different than the last one I read – but I still loved it. The author just writes in such a fantastic way that I don’t want to put the book down.

This is a psychological thriller and it will keep you guessing until the end. I loved that the characters were sociopaths – I always find them so fascinating. There was a big twist…then another and I was just so delighted. The ending – oh my. It was everything I didn’t know I needed.

If you’re looking for something a little different from this amazing author then grab yourself a copy of this twisty thriller on August 22nd.

This book was so atmospheric that it took my breath away! I knew I liked this writing style but I am seriously floored at how much I liked the novel. This had just the right amount of character development and kept me guessing.

What a total departure from Dial A for Aunties…in the BEST possible way!!

This psychological thriller was a crazy ride. I thought I knew what was happening…until I realized I had no idea who the villain actually was! The twist? And then the other twist? I need to reread ASAP!

I loved the character depth written into this book. Especially when I realized it went way deeper than I initially thought. This was a game of cat/mouse/cat (or was it mouse/cat/mouse?) like no other.

Read if you like: Crazy Rich Asians, The Writing Retreat, the concept of Oxford, psychopathic characters, characters taking charge, strong women who will do *anything* to get what they want, and people who are self-aware enough to start therapy.

This is my first book by Sutanto and I'm impressed! I hear it's quite different from her other books, but as a thriller/mystery fanatic, this one sounded right up my alley!
I like the sarcastic, witty, edgy writing style. The toxic relationship between Jane and Thalia ended up being more twisty than I thought it would be! Not all is what it seems.
Recommend!

The author of Dial A for Aunties has changed up her style! Sutanto has created a spooky thriller worthy of Patricia Highsmith!

Jane lives her mundane midwestern life, writing her middling novels. She still fondly remembers her exciting grad school year - 10 years ago in Oxford with a jet setting group lead by the enigmatic Thalia. hen Jane sees that Thalia is writing and at a conference in New York, she will stop at nothing to attend. She has a score to settle, and she is going to make sure Thalia pays. The problem is that there is more than one cat in this cat and mouse game! If you like Highsmith hijinks, stalking and unrequited love, or just a thriller you will never guess til the end, I'm Not Done with You Yet is for You!

It doesn't matter what Jesse Q. Sutanto writes, I'll read it! All her books have sucked me in and never let me go. I'm still thinking of them all now including this one! If you're in the moody for a twisty suspense novel then grab this book when it releases!

After the perfectly good YA Well, That Was Unexpected, and the perfectly good cozy mystery Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice For Murderers, Jesse Q Sutanto is BACK with the one-sitting WTF pageturner in the new I’m Not Done With You Yet.

I’m Not Done With You Yet is a twisted, manipulative friendship story about writers writing twisted, manipulative friendship stories. Also, about murder and psychopathy.

In the present timeline, Jane is a middling writer, with laughably small advances and a husband who keeps “accidentally” referring to her career as her hobby. I thought the husband was terribly well-written. I think real life is full of people who aren’t hateful, aggressive or dangerous, just completely inconsiderate, and Ted is every coworker who’s left the shared microwave dirty because you’re just so much better at cleaning it, and every boyfriend who left the seat up again and wondered why you were making it such a big deal. Inconsiderate Dudebro Ted is so realistic that it helps ground the intensity of this story into our regular world.

In the past timeline, working-class Jane was lost and overwhelmed at her Oxford fiction MFA program, and is quickly swept up by a chance meeting with the gorgeous, charismatic and talented Thalia. This reminded me of nervous comp grad Hannah and her gorgeous, rich suitemate April in Ruth Ware’s The It Girl. (I’m delighted to see my experience as a state-college kid on an Oxbridge course reflected in fiction, perhaps I won’t dwell on the murderous outcomes in both novels.) Jane is immediately obsessed with Thalia, and their intense friendship powers the whole novel.

I’ve written before about how great the friendship motivation can be in a thriller. Thrillers with obsessive love as a motivation don’t always work for me, because sometimes I think, just dump him/her and move on. Seriously, do you know how many attractive people are out there?!? Reject this one! But doing something dangerous and deeply messed up for a bestie? Doing it for social approval or under social pressure? Now that’s a motivation that works for me every time.

When Jane discovers that Thalia has a new book out about an intense female friendship, she carefully manipulates her way into bumping into her at a fiction convention. Well, sort of, we’ve veering into spoiler territory now. Once the two reunite, the twisty plot really takes off, with shocks and more murder. On one level, readers absolutely know that their insta-bonding after years apart is gonna have dramatic, possibly bloody outcomes, and on the other, everything seems so perfect for Jane! I’m Not Done With You Yet is 100% Gore Free, with a fairly high body count off-camera.

I read this in one sitting and I was hooked right to the end, with twists coming rapidly in the final section.

I’m a big fan of Jesse Q Stanton’s two auntie books and this was obviously very different from those two books but I really liked it. The flashbacks were really good and I really liked the shifting points of view. I appreciated that there wasn’t really anyone to root for but there were def characters I liked better than others.
