Drool drool…this cookbook is lovely. It’s full of information that I found so interesting about ingredients and methods and hints to recipes that are often neat twists on familiar things like muffins and scones. I will use this book endlessly. The photographs are lovely and inspiring. So grateful to have this one and can’t wait to explore more. Get this one!
Giant Cinnamon Roll & Birthday Cake Muffins! Need I say more, Sarah's recipes have the classics and also some fun new whimsical treats. User friendly recipe comes with no fuss ingredients and both weighted and scooped measurements (cups, spoons, etc). The images are beautiful ans instructions easy to follow. A great addition to any kitchen library. I am looking forward to trying more weekend recipes soon. Thank you so much for letting me enjoy this treat in advance.
My favorite meal is breakfast. Rather in the morning, lunch, or for dinner, breakfast is what I love. I’m also a sweets fan. So, when I first heard of, 100 MORNING TREATS: with Muffins, Rolls, Biscuits, Breakfast Breads, and More, I knew I had to have this book!
Each chapter of, Sarah Kieffer’s book, starts with a quote from a classic author, and each page contains another amazing breakfast treat. Muffin, Scones, Breads, Cakes, Pastries, and so much more, are represented, in mouth watering glory.
100 MORNING TREATS will have a permanent place on my kitchen shelf.
This is a beautifully illustrated collection of morning treats. Clear and concise with metric and imperial measurements, it has easy to follow recipes. The wide variety makes it easy to vary them up for any breakfast / brunch occasion. There are many that would work in lunch and treat scenarios. Reading the recipes and looking at the pictures does make one want to check the pantry and make out a grocery list asap.
This would make a great gift for a new cook.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse gratis and offer my opinion in the same.
I love a big variety of recipes and they all sound delicious. I’m definitely trying some out, and after reading through the book, I looked up the author on social media
I seldom see a cookbook filled with photos, but this one has an almost 1:1 recipe to photo correlation. Almost. It’s so close that I am impressed.
Add to this a cookbook filled with recipes that I find worthy of baking. Usually, if a cookbook has even appetizing recipes filling even half of the book, I consider it successful. This cookbook, though…wow. Page after page after page of quality recipes. I want to start at the beginning and just start cooking, one after the other.
This is a must buy.
This was a nice cookbook, more intermediate/advanced as many complex techniques and ingredients. But some really unique treats and I enjoyed looking through it
Thank you NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.
I own Sarah Kieffer’s book, Baking for the Holidays and love it. So, I was looking forward to reading and reviewing her latest book.
I was not disappointed. Sarah’s recipes are clear and concise. Each one
has a photo with it that makes your mouth water. The book leaves me wanting
to make each and every recipe.
The introduction does not waste a lot of time on over-explaining baking terms and techniques. It gives you just enough tips so that you are excited to get into baking.
I especially liked the section on laminating dough. That is something I haven’t tried yet, but I would certainly like to try it. She has organized all of her various dough recipes into one section at the back of the book, making it very convenient. The “extras” section, which she includes, will certainly take your baking to the next level. You may even have people (that taste your baked treats) ask you which bakery they came from!
After reading this ARC, I know I will need to purchase this book and recommend it to friends that enjoy baking.
4 stars for a fun recipe book that gives me more reason to enjoy sweet treats for brekkie!
This was a fun collection of recipes that make breakfast FUN~ I will take any excuse to have dessert for breakfast, I'm just sayin'. These breakfast recipes look delicious and sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. I really liked that some recipes gave things that I normally wouldn't associate with breakfast a fun spin.
Thanks to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for providing a digital ARC for review.
These baked goods are beautiful and delicious, and would be perfect for special occasions. But they are not simple recipes just a throw together in the morning there are many ingredients you need to acquire before baking any of these things. I would use this for maybe breakfast on a Sunday morning every once in a while, or if I was just in the mood to bake, but for something fast and easy I wouldn’t use this. However, the recipes in this book look absolutely delicious and I plan to make a few.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Having already purchased 100 Cookies, when I saw that Sarah Kieffer was coming out with another baking book I was super excited! 100 Morning Treats definitely doesn't disappoint - all of the recipes sound delicious and are accompanied by beautiful photos that really showcase the food nicely. I have already made the Blueberry Muffins which were really simple to make and really tasty! I can't wait to try out more of the recipes like the Cardamom Bundt Cake with Coffee Glaze and the Popovers with Fig Butter.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to bake and wants some great recipes with fun flavor combinations!
Thanks to NetGalley, Chronicle Books, and Sarah Kieffer for an advanced copy of the book. All thoughts in this review are my own.

This one is for the breakfast-eating foodies!
Packed full of delicious recipes, this cookbook will make your mouth water. It covers everything from muffins and scones, to laminated pastries and breads.
Some that really stood out to me were:
- Tiramisu Bundt Cake
- Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls
- Chocolate Pudding Bundt Cake
- Ham and Cheese Sliders
The pictures were high quality and it was clear to see what recipe they were referring to. The directions were relatively easy to follow - if not a little too long at times. I can definitely see myself picking up a physical copy of the cookbook!
Thank you NetGalley and Chronicle Books for this eARC in exchange for my honest review!
Sarah found the sweet spot of adding personal stories and tips to her recipies. Being a baker myself, I found many of her tips useful and selfishly wanted yummy. Filled with georgous pictures to inspire bakers of any level. I'm off to breakfast baking. yumm.
This newest book by Sarah Kieffer focuses on morning goodies with a nice range of both savory and sweet. I appreciate her excellent photos, descriptions, and helpful notes. I know I will be enjoying many of this recipes. Thank you so much for allowing me to preview this fabulous cookbook. I am a huge fan and have made several recipes from Sarah's previous books and have never been disappointed.
100 Morning Treats - With Muffins, Rolls, Biscuits, Sweet and Savory Breakfast Breads, and More by Sarah Kieffer has it all from sweet right through to savory. Just browsing this book made me long for breakfast and one of these treats.
The Cinnamon Scones were pure genius with the premade cinnamon butter that was incorporated into this scone. The Ginger Orange Carrot Bread was moist and tangy, the perfect bite with a steaming cup of coffee. (I reviewed an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.) This book will certainly have a place on my shelf and in my breakfast rotation.
I received a netgalley review copy, the opinions are my own though.
This book appealed to me for many reasons. The biggest being brunch food of any kind is amazing, and there is never a wrong time to eat brunch. The second reason is baking is a lovely pastime.
I read through all the recipes, and had a hard time narrowing down which to make first because everything sounded amazing. I started making a grocery list – first round picks for me were apricot white chocolate scones, Double chocolate banana muffins, ginger orange carrot bread, and pear bundt cake.
I started with the apricot white chocolate scones. And they turned out perfect! Quite possible the easiest scone recipe I’ve ever made. I made them yesterday on my day off and I’ll be making more this weekend. I kinda want to try keeping the scone base the same and swapping out the apricots for dried strawberries and the white chocolate for dark chocolate. This was a solid recipe, easy to follow and yielded great results- and I’ll definitely be making these again. (Also, I’d never heard of the double sheet pan trick, helped a lot)
Next up I’ll making the ginger orange carrot bread and the peanut butter granola bark. I’ve also got my eye on trying some of the more complicated recipes such as the almond croissants. I’d highly recommend this book. It was easy to follow, my scones were wonderful and who doesn’t love brunch?!
My only small complaint would be that some of the recipes such as almond crossiants call for a dough recipe that you don’t find until later in the book. I’d rather work my way through the more complicated dough, and then see what you can do with said dough, then seeing what can be done but then having to go look up the other dough recipe further back . But that’s just me.
I love the introduction and how the book is laid out. I’m really looking forward to making some of these recipes.
100 Morning Treats by Sarah Kieffer wasn’t anything new for baked goods, but still had a nice assortment of different treats. The pictures were average, and I do feel, better photography would make this book much better. We do eat with our eyes after all.
The book has sections on General Baking Advice and A Few Important Notes. At the end of the book, the author includes a list of Morning Tunes to Bake Too and a Conversion Chart. Each Chapter starts with some type of food quote from a book which I thought was a nice touch. Each recipe includes a blurb about the recipe, amount made, ingredients and instructions.
The recipe sections include (with a sample of one of the recipes):
1. Muffins, Scones, and Quick Breads - Banana Bread Scones with Rum Icing
2. Coffee Cakes and Bundt Cakes - Chocolate Hazelnut Crumb Cake
3. Sweet Yeasted and Fried Treats - Orange Buns
4. Laminated Pastries - Raspberry Hazelnut Danish Bread
5. The Weekend - Peanut Butter Granola Bark
6. Base Doughs and Breads - Sweet Dough
7. The extra section includes fruit flavored syrup, pastry cream, streusel, etc.
In trying to decide which recipe to make for this review, it did seem as if some of the recipes were a bit more involved than I was wanting to invest in. Having said that, I did make the Simple Citrus Breakfast Cake which was awesome and even more awesome with the lime juice glaze I put on it. This recipe directions were clear and easy to follow which is one of the reason I chose it.
My review is voluntary and all comments and opinions expressed are
my own.
This is a great cookbook. It has great recipes that are easy to follow. I cannot wait to make each one!
