This is my first time reading a cookbook by Sarah Kieffer; definitely will go in search of her others! Beautifully laid out recipes, are both inviting and exciting. Normally certain types of baked goods (see laminated and/or yeasted pastries) intimidate me, but these recipes feel accessible to this home baker in just the right way. Did I mention how lovely the book is? Love the photos, descriptions, and well placed quotes. Am confident there will be happy faces both at home and my office as I work my way through 100 Morning Treats!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Chronicle Books, and the author for the opportunity to review this ARC.
Wow, this is a great resource for new and seasoned bakers alike. The recipes are easy to follow, the pictures gorgeous with a great variety of treats!
Fantastic cookbook full of amazing breakfast recipes that will surly get you cooking! I highly recommend
All of Sarah Kieffer's cookbooks are amazing, and 100 Morning Treats is no exception! It contains so many amazing recipes along with beautiful pictures. There is also a great variety of recipes to choose from such as muffins, rolls, doughnuts, scones, biscuits, and both sweet and savory breakfast breads. I've tried the almond poppy seed and happy birthday muffins, buttermilk cinnamon rolls, and banana fritters so far. Everything was delicious, and I can't wait to eventually try them all!
I've read both of Sarah Kieffer's previous cookbooks and I really like the layouts and varying levels of difficulties of the recipes. There's a base recipe section, one for tools, even oven temperatures. I've found the recipes very straightforward to follow in her previous cookbooks and this one seems no different. I'm particularly excited to try the Cream-Filled Danish, House Pancakes and Mini Dutch Babies. And the book is just very pretty, which is always nice!
Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm so excited to try a few of these tasty-looking treats! I like how it's divided into sections based on different types of pastries and other breakfast items.
Don't open this book if you're hungry and don't have all the normal 'staple' ingredients. Don't be like me or you'll be drooling all over the gorgeous pictures and delicious recipes contained within.
Very user-friendly format -especially for those who are 'baby bakers' such as myself. I loved the back where the author gives some song ideas and a section with all the 'prep' recipes that a main recipe may call for or incorporate.
I cannot wait to make some of these - Buttermilk is a common staple I am going to have to add to my kitchen as most call for it (heads up for those who don't usually work with it).
A fantastic resource for baking pastries! Filled with delicious recipes that are easy to follow along! I appreciated the helpful information included in the introduction, which sets you up for success! I can't wait to try all of these recipes!
This cookbook is filled with recipes for delicious-looking morning food including twists on foods like cake and pretzels that you wouldn't normally associate with breakfast. As a breakfast lover (it's the best meal of the day!), I can't wait to try many of these yummy recipes including Caramel Apple Muffins, Strawberry Knots, Cruffins, and Cheesy Croissant Casserole. This is a pastry and breakfast lover's dream.
What a great cookbook! Beautiful pictures, easy-to-follow instructions, and so many ideas! I loved the author's 100 Cookies, and this is just as good.
I am so excited for this book to come out! All of the recipes look delicious, and the photography is beautiful! If you liked Kieffer’s previous books, you will love this one!
100 Morning Treats is more of a nod to all things pastry l. Many of the recipes are decadent and the pictures are beautiful. I would honestly not make the majority of these as a breakfast but I would serve nanyang as a desert or as a brunt treat offering. The author is clearly in love with baking and creating these delicious desserts. I think the book is well out together and well organized. This would make a great gift for any baker!
As someone who prefers breakfast above all other meals I feel like this was going to be a win for me before I ever turned a page. It is however, all that I hoped it would be and more. I love to make desserts that I can serve under the guise of “breakfast food” so any kind of pastry is an automatic yes for me.
The author is very passionate about this book and it transfers into every page. Every recipe is well thought out and has a good organized layout making it easy to use while baking. The recipes range from healthy items like “Whole Wheat Yogurt Muffins” to less healthy options like “Tiramisu Bundt Cake” so there is something for everyone. There is a recipe for any pastry you have ever wanted and even some that you’ve never heard of. Something that I appreciate when I get a book like this is that there are some classic recipes like Blueberry muffins, something I’ve made a ton of items before but this one is just a little different, but then there are recipes that are so creative and inventive that I would have never even thought to make them.
Each recipe has a corresponding photo and refreshingly the food looks like normal food that anyone can make. Sure there is some nicely twisted dough and possibly unattainable cinnamon rolls, but for the most part I expect that the recipes I make will actually look like the picture beside it. I would say this book is for an experienced cook, a bit too complex for a beginner. Overall an amazing addition to any cookbook library.
**I will post my review to Goodreads on the date of publication**
What a great book! With beautiful photographs accompanying the recipes, and an informative first chapter with cooking tips and tricks, this is a cookbook that will work for beginner cooks and more advanced cooks alike. With chapter devoted to muffins, danishes, bread doughs, and more, there are recipes for everyone.
I can't wait to try some of these recipes! Thank you Netgalley and Chronicle Books for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
Delicious looking, easy to follow recipes with photos of every one, and a few with step-by-step photos. I’m going to look for a hard copy of this one when it comes out! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Really enjoyed this photo it is a great book filled with yummy breakfast foods. They also look really easy. Can't wait to try some of the recipes.
Great resource for all things pastry. Loved the variety, the detail and the beautiful colors that coincided with each recipe. Great book for any baker, new or seasoned.
Another winner from Sarah Keiffer. There are so many recipes I want to try in this book! There are sweet and savory options and a wealth of choices from muffins to danish and croissants and more. Delighted to get so much baking inspiration in one place!
Wow. What a gem. 100 Morning Treats by Sarah Kieffer does not disappoint and yes you read that right 100 recipes and actually more when you read the extras toward the end. There are the classics that are my favorites such as Kouignettes, Almond cream, Lemon curd, and Dutch babies. I was looking for crepes and ebelskivers so I wouldn't say it's a Baking Breakfast Bible but it is close. It is a treat for the baker and I can see this as a treasured family cookbook since so many of these treats are indeed special occasion.
The book is beautifully photographed with some helpful step-by-step construction photos. There could have been more but I did observe that the recipes that needed the guidance photos were there nevertheless I still would have appreciated more photos since some of these recipes are advanced such as Kouignettes.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher Chronicle Books for the opportunity to read 100 Morning Treats by Sarah Kieffer.
