This is a great story about the importance of taking small moments to reset through meditation. This story contained some alliteration and rhyme, though used some words like “maul” and “mutilation” that didn’t seem to work for a children’s book. A nice little addition at the end contained some meditation tips, along with some dino-themed meditations to try yourself!

Loved this one. Great book about friendship and acceptance. The meditation glossary was a great addition at the end. Lots of fun practical methods to try with my kids!

Two dinosaurs are best buds - but one is into meditation and the other would rather go on adventures. Roar! Smash!

The illustrations are adorable and the author managed to make meditation sound really fun. At the end you have a short explanation of what meditation is and how you can do it yourself.
If I am honest, this is the best explanation as to why mindfulness is important I've heard because there is no space to reach for big words and longwinded explanations. Also, dinosaurs. They make everything better.

This was incredibly heartwarming and provided a good lesson. I think this is a great option to help introduce the conversation of both different personalities within friendships as well as how to help oneself in life's struggles.

This was a cute quick read about Rex and his friend Sam. Rex is all about the action and thinks that mediating is useless but he learns that sometimes stopping and taking a breath is just what you need to do.

This was such a cute children’s book, full of great tips on meditation and mindfulness! I read it to the children I babysit and they were keen to try out some of the Dino meditations at the end which was great! The illustrations are cute and colourful, and the text is simple yet fun to read! Thank you to NetGalley, and the publisher for providing me an arc in return for an honest review!

In this cute book, a loud and rowdy dinosaur learns to take a moment and enjoy the peace and quiet. This book is good for those looking for a way to explain how taking a moment and enjoying the peace can be all it takes to make one feel better.

This is such a CUTE book introducing meditation to children! I've practiced meditation for years, so the concept is not new to my daughter. We both enjoyed reading this vibrantly-colored book with a cute message on the benefits of meditation. I also enjoyed the fun practices at the end of the story. I recommend this to any child, regardless of their experience with meditation!

What a great way to teach kids about meditation! I’m sure this book will be so helpful in the classroom and in speech therapy to teach the use of breathing for emotional regulation. I also loved the pictures with the beautiful earthy colors!

In this delightful follow-up to Dinos Don't Do Yoga, Rex and Sam are back at it again. When Sam takes a break from their epic adventures to meditate, Rex isn't having it. Dinos are meant to stomp and brawl! Until Rex finds himself in a situation where taking a moment to breath is exactly what he needs. Delightful illustrations with rhyming text make this an ideal story for read alouds.

Rex, is a scrappy aggressive tough tyrannosaurus. His friend Sam is the complete opposite in temperament. Sam is gentle and calm and loves to still himself while he meditates. How in the world can the two dinosaurs be good friends when they have polar opposite characteristics ?

Rex cannot not fathom how sauropod Sam can withdraw from their rollicking playtimes to be still and enjoy some necessary quiet time. Of course, being friends, Sam always invites his rowdy friend to join him but Rex always declined his offer.
Will Rex finally discover the beauty and importance of meditating and decide to practice mindfulness himself?

"Dinos Don't Meditate" is a lovely story to share with a child that may have super high-energy and finds it hard to slow down, breathe, pay attention and be still. Kids will discover the benefits of peaceful timeouts. Those quiet times highlight how enjoyable times of relaxation can actually be.

The colourful expressive illustrations depict adorable relatable dinosaur characters. The author includes simple mindfulness guidance, including Mesozoic meditations that children can practice at home at the end of the book.

I love the book ( especially the character Rex, he's my favourite ) and I highly recommend the book.

I have had the dinosaur themed classroom for two years now, so this book was irresistible.
Rex doesn't want to mediate and does everything possible to skip out on it while Sam patiently waits for the realization that meditation is actually not half bad.

I love the stubborn rex and the gentle-hearted Sam. Super cute illustrations.
Will be using it in my classroom.

This was an awesome book about how to take a moment and take a breath. We could all stand to have some medication time.

It’s a cool age appropriate book about meditation and it makes it fun.

The illustrations were awesome too and I liked how the words of the story had a rhymey flow to them.

I think elementary school kids would love this one.

Dinos Don’t Meditate is a great rhyming picture book with a great message about emotions, breathing, and balancing play and rest. I would read this to kids age 3+. The rhymes flow nicely, and work well for reading aloud. I can definitely see myself using this for a storytime book in the future! I appreciate that in the end Sam and Rex still play and have fun. It shows that there is room for both rowdiness AND mindfulness, which I feel some picture books on this topic don't always address.

The illustrations are excellent, and show the expressions and personalities of the dinosaurs so well! I like the mix of full-color spreads with some pages that have a plain background and different scenes. A nice detail I enjoyed was that Rex's text was in red when he was speaking, and Sam's was in green to match their coloring.

The meditation activities in the back of the book are fantastic.
This will be out in March! Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy to read and review!

Dinos Don’t Meditate is a great book, especially for kids 4-8. My boys are still into dinosaurs so when we received this ARC I was so excited to read it to them. I love that it teaches kids how to use mediation to help with their feelings. We even had a few laughs along the way. It was very easy for my 4 year old to comprehend.

Our thoughts ~ we genuinely enjoyed this book, the characters Rex and Sam fit very well with the message that was being told. My daughter felt like she understood Rex she said sometimes she feels the same way and that it's hard to just breath and calm down but she knows that once she does it will help. I'm glad my daughter resonated with the story. The color story and adventure through pictures within the book paired well. We would definitely get this book to have in our physical collection.

This was amazing. I am SO looking forward to buying this for my daughter. She loves dinosaurs, and the message behind this story is just so great. She is going to love this, and I’m going to know that she will learn something while reading. Meditation is an important part of life for some, and introducing it to young children is a great idea!

Funny story with great use of language for kiddos to learn. Story was short and sweet for a nice storytime.

Bright colors and fun characters fill this picture book. Two dinosaurs, Rex and Sam. are friends even though they are different. But Rex can’t get past Sam’s meditation practice. It’s too boring for him. However, he comes to rethink this through the story.

Kids will relate to the high energy of Rex and hopefully to his realization that deep breathing and other aspects of meditation are really helpful. The back of the book has more information about meditation too that adults can check out, as well as some mindfulness ideas.
